I'm sure in this instance it was a good thing for her to sit and have piles put around her so she could SEE how much stuff there was. And after that, one piece at a time- it's easier to have someone else hold it up and look to give a quick yes or no.

Oh god I totally get how Freddie feels! I am in the exact same situation, only I am packing up 4 years of my life in China, temporarily moving home to India and then moving to a totally new country... And having a baby in between all of that!! My husband and I moved into this apartment with 47 boxes and are leaving with just 15. It's been a month long saga of what is worth shipping back home and what we're donating. I've given away tons of clothes and shoes and bags and my entire kitchen! It is really very overwhelming at times. Doesn't help that I'm 6 months pregnant and super emotional about everything.
