My Record 10 FD has 4, not 3 clicks (mentioned at 2:00 of the video). The guy who works on my bike was a UCI mechanic, and adjusted it so that it only upshifts at the 4th click. It works fine and is smooth. If this was adjusted to shift after 3 clicks, my guess ist this increases the liklihood of a n overshift (hitting the 4th click) and a dropped chain.

Nicely done video! - Some versions the Campagnolo Technical documentation were poorly written and confusing wrt the three clicks required to up-shift.

Great video! I have a question though. You say it should take 3 clicks to move from the small to big ring in front. I have campagnolo Centaur 10 speed and it takes 4 clicks to do this. It feels like first click does nothing then second and third move for just a bit then 4. click moves the chain nicely to the big ring. There is also 5. click that slightly moves front derailleur for the smallest ring on the back. Is this all fine for Centaur geargroup or do i need to readjust it completely?

rtrdryuri If it takes more than 3 clicks, then we suggest adjusting your cable tension, which can be done with your barrel adjuster, or at the cable anchor.

Really helpful video and narration. Everything setup while in the stand - three clicks to shift from small to big ring - but when I take the bike out on the road, when under maximum effort, the chain is jumping outwards off the big ring. I've tried adjusting the inside limit screw but to no avail. Is there something I've missed?
@artscyclery8757 жыл бұрын
Hmm, how's your chain and overall drive train wear? Have you tried moving the limit in board slightly?

Many thanks for replying. I've readjusted the clamp height and angle and in the process the inbound and outbound limiters, and revisited the rear derailleur indexing and alignment. Road test pending but all running a bit smoother now. Thanks again for the great advice, and instilling the confidence to give it a go.

Old 10s triple campagnolo derailleurs (~2007-2008 Centaur) with 2X crankset need 3 or 4 clicks?

Thanks for the great video, I'm trying to adjust a Campagnolo Athena 11 Triple, but struggling to get a clean shift in all 3 gears... Does the process differ at all when adjusting a front dérailleur for 3 chain rings?

I've tried numerous times, but I just can't get my front deraileur to shift up to the big ring. I have a Campy Potenza. I've tried adjusting the mech position, the cable tension and the limit screw, but none of these seem to work. Is there something obvious I need to do?

Hello, I can't stop the chain rubbing on the big ring. Everything operates well, shifting is flawless in 3 clicks, I managed to get rid of rubbing the chain on the small ring by setting the limit screw, but on the big ring the turning of the limit screw has only partial effect, I turn the screw, but the derailleur only moves for a while, then stops and more turning of the screw has no effect, and the chain is still rubbing. What am I doing wrong? The cable also seems to have enough tension, tried adjusting the tension with a barrel adjuster, also minimal effetc. I have Campagnolo Athena 11s. Thank you for reply

LordAdvanced1337 Sounds like you are getting chain rub on the front derailleur when shifted into the big ring and the small cog out back. Is this correct?
@LordAdvanced133710 жыл бұрын
Art's Cyclery Correct :)
@artscyclery87510 жыл бұрын
LordAdvanced1337 If the outer limit screw isn't doing the trick, then you need more cable tension.

It went together easily in less than an hour. kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.
