If God’s truth translated into civic law is Christian Nationalism, then sign me up as a Christian Nationalist. All laws are moral, the question is, whose morality do you want influencing legislation?

And whose truth shall we accept as the final word of god? The popes?, the Mormons? You? Churches today are splitting up bc they can’t come to any consensus on what god is talking about. Seems like churches get their stuff together first before trying to impose their will on others.

I don't miss the Mohler at the Shepherd's Conference 2019... whatever happened to wake him up/dewokify him (COVID, BLM or the abject nonsense of CRT), God be praised.

As I get older I'm starting to listen to people and not try to get a word in edge wise but just think about what they're saying. And I can see their hope for a calm mind is not in staying calm and listening but in a nervous frantic speed demon thinking process terrified of silence and needing all the right answers, thinking that will do the trick and calm and slow the mind.

Religion is too hard to stick to for the spiritual and secular. They don't have the strength. They need things more loose. They panic when stuck and are unable to bend.

Christian Nationalism is a term Christians should stay away from given that there is no standard definition. To do so is to play into the hands of those who would use the term to mischaracterize the intention of believers. Historically, it referred to the fusion of the state and Christianity which Mohler clearly rejects.

If we were really a Christian nation, following the way our lord Jesus taught us to live. We would be leading the world in taking care of our poor, making as many as possible have health care and housing. We would be a people sacrificially generous, not living beyond what we need and giving to our neighbor in need. Who is our neighbor? Jesus pointed to a foreigner when asked that question. We would be a Christian nation if didn’t function in us vs. them mindset. If we didn’t love power but radically believed in the power of love and lived it out, even to those we have been thinking of as enemies.

I *think* there was an answer in there .... Mine would be that there is no such thing as Christian nationalism. Period. The Bible cannot conceive of such a thing in the world as it is.

Better cross this verse out of your Bible. "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!" (Ps 33.12)

@brettschlee7090 I don't need to. That's about Israel. No other nation, before or since, has had the one true God as their God. Nations do not choose God; he chose the one nation and put His temple in Jerusalem.

If not nationalism do they want globalism? If not Christian do they Muslim or Hinduism? I never made sense to me. What do they want?

Historically speaking is excessive pride in one's nation, a "my country right or wrong" attitude, also known as chauvinism. Nations states are human constructs and therefore flawed, just as we are flawed. Patriotism is loyalty to one's country, a desire to be a good citizen, and also to be a benefit to society as a whole. Patriots will admit their country is imperfect, nationalis are fare less likely to do so. Remember that Nationalism was one of the three chief causes of World War I, along with imperialism and militarism.

Super Duper Weak Mohler! Answered the question from the softest definition of "Christian Nationalism." Unfortunately the Christian Nationalists themselves don't use your soft definition.

A much greater threat to American society is the likes of BLM and Antifa, destroying neighborhoods and communities directly in the open, without punishment or reprimand
