DTF can be a great add-on to DTG if you are a garment decorator (i.e. press-on-demand, difficult placements, etc). From the handfeel standpoint, DTG is way better, not only on big prints but also on small ones. When it comes to artworks-blends into fabric, gradients and other effects when you need to use the color of the fabric as part of your art - I don't see an alternative to DTG. The widespread idea that DTG is only applicable for 100% cotton is not true - we print 100% on dark polyester without any dye migration issues or washability problems. DTG printing on 100% polyester has been around for years. Surely it's different than printing on cotton, but it's all down to which equipment you own and how accurate you are on each step of your production process. We actually feel that we got more "space" for DTG now, when DTF came to the market.

Hello Dmitry, very interesting and helpful comments. In my opinion, both printing methods can be worthwhile. They are, indeed, very different printing methods that can be used for a wide range of products. You just have to choose the method that works best for your business model. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your knowledge with us!

Hello, well DTF ist Faster if you go Step by Step with DTG, DTF is easier cheaper and the washability is 10000 times better then DTG, the only Problem for now in DTF are bigger prints because in this case its like foil to thick but for everything else u can replace DTG (and Vynil) with DTF. Im a DTG Printer since 2005 and for us DTF replaced 95% of your DTG Jobs and we Lost also 95 our Wholesale Customers to DTF (bought own roll to roll or they but because the transfers are so cheap).
