Girls need to stipulate before marriage and in the nikkah contract they want a seperate home (rented or bought). Its a wife's shariah right. Couples need privacy and to run their home their own way without interference. Marriage is a big step in itself. No need to complicate it further.

Yes! I understand that many people stay in joint family for financial reasons but it’s definitely a big compromise. Your privacy, mental peace and relationship are completely different when you have your own space.

@@durresameenmirza9449 yes indeed but many also stay because its how its been done and because they want somebody to care for their parents and the household. It's just not the wife's job and she has her own parents, who she is expected to leave and distance herself from and ask permission to go see, but this JFS tradition is a remnant like jahez, rukhsati from the culture we inherited from India made by guys for guys. Getting married and living seperately should be normal part of starting your independent life. It's how other Muslims do it too. Especially outside the subcontinent. I really like how you think. I hope more will think like you.

I don't understand why some girls are naive... *If a male friend is getting touchy, he is not a friend* You need to put down your foot, slap him and get the hell out. A friend or gentleman will never do that. Stay with people who respect you and your limits.

I assumed she must be very young from the message. But it’s still unfortunate that girls aren’t taught to be very firm in their boundaries, not just with friends but everyone.
