Thoughts after last question. I had read somewhere that India has most mosques in entire world , about 3,00,000+. Indian govt give haj subsidy to Muslims and even give money for restoration of many mosques ( you can google various articles ). This is done from tax payers money. State of West Bengal gives monthly salary to maulvis . On the other hand most temples in under govt control and majority of the funds donated by hindus to these temples are taken by govt and used in public welfare. Still many play victim card here. I can write many such things here but i think most of you have got my point. Cases of extremism are very very low . Don't feel victimized and unsafe.

Tyson, who is a public intellectual, made a series of statements on a topic for which he has absolutely no qualifications. Worse, he neglected even the most basic context of history. Too long didn't read version: Niel Degrasse Tyson's claims are wrong, Al Ghazali did not hate maths, he loved philosophy, science and math and encouraged critical thinking. Niel is not a historian and is not qualified thus we should only take facts from his from his field of Astro science. Niel is also IMO a slight Islamaphobe because he is a New Athiest who thinks a world without any religion would be the best place. I humbly request you to please verify your facts in the future Junaid Bahi. Hi Junaid Bahi i wanted to write about a topic you touched upon with Niel Degrasse Tyson. Let me be clear that one google search can destroy all of his "claims" on history. He is an astrophysicist but not a historian or theologon. He does not know academic discussions of history nor does he bother to do so from verified sources. Just a quick google search will show you that Imam Ghazali was not to be blamed for the decline of science in the Golden Age and the book that you mentioned is not even about maths but about philosophy. And contradictorily that book is the promotion of philosophy and critical thinking. It's talking about not believing anyone at first glance but to always verify their claims with rationality. Any time Niel talks about history and theology please refrain to quote him because he is way out of his waters when he comments because that is not his field nor is he qualified. Imam Ghazali was not even a ruler but the conservative ruler of that time (i dont remember his name) was the one that constituted religious education in schools when it was not mandatory and he started the sectarian and inter-religious violence. If you have read any of Al Ghazalis work you will know how in love with philosophy, logic, maths, and science he was. But orientalists that defame Islam at every point have also defamed Al Ghazali as well. My opinion on Niel is that he is a staunch new Atheist and believes in the eradication of religions as we know it and the coming of the age of science and rationality. Again this is just my opinion but he is very Islamaphobic when it comes to many things as he has many times passed derogatory comments such as no Muslim name being in the Nobel List when in fact that list was made in an era when the Islamic empire was torn apart as well as that list containing more white men than any genius of the third or "non-white" world. I would be lying if I was to say that I am not disappointed by this discussion today. I really love your saying that you can become educated at this time just because of Google but it seems you did not google any of Niel's claims because he is a famous scientist. I don't know if anyone will read this especially you Junaid Bahi but i would humbly suggest verifying such facts as it's a touchy topic for people like me who are ridiculed by others just because of my faith.

I am afraid we didn't conquer Spain, the Turks did, they just happened to be Muslims.
