Arnav there's one thing you need to know, people will be judged on the day of judgement with what they used to do in this world and not by their surnames. secondly, The pedigree of Syeds are conserved over the years. Any one who is a Syed will have all the names of his great grand fathers, going all the way up to Muhammad (saw). educate yourself a bit please.

We just adopted the surname which we have such as sayyed khan or shaikh for documentation and that’s it, in sub continent we are mostly converts and local people, just adopting these surname few decades back for documentation and thinking that we belong to arabs is just fooling yourself
