Also have to consider an elderly person’s hearing. My Mom won’t wear hearing aids (never had) so she seems ok to people, but she really doesn’t realize wha5 they’ve said .. just nods. She’s 90 yrs. old, has age related dementia, VERY bored at her Indy seniors Rez… she dances & Huns but isolates herself from other activities cause she can’t hear … Gets sundowners in evening.. can’t work the remote on TV (anxiety) so hadn’t had TV for a year 😵💫. Challenging… Often she’s good but SO bored of just walking, sitting etc… a doer with nothing much to do 🥲

My father doesn’t know he’s at home and believes he’s at a hospital a lot of the time. That seems to induce delirium. Plus he hallucinates people harming him which causes all night long psychosis and screaming. He’s very medication resistant meaning nothing works well. Only CBD after a number of hours will kick in.

Mom’s in a senior’s Indy/ass’t living Rez.. I’m not there in evening when she takes afternoon naps cause she’s exhausted or low light in her suite in evening .. promoting sun downing .. a challenge for sure

I found this interview extremely helpful, I just ambulanced my aunt due to delirium as described by the Doctor in this interview, I am so thankful.
