You can learn design principles and confidence with "Tiny, quick makes" If it wasn't for me making doll clothes, I don't think I would be having as much fun as I do making myself full sweaters. Personally I focus on fit more than guage because I make my own sweaters (no patterns) improvised to fit me.

You should make a video tutorial on how you crochet sweaters without a pattern…curious minds want to know.

@@blkisis you can start by looking up different kinds of crochet yokes, thats how I do top-down sweaters.

I don't feel so odd now. I've made a couple tops with a different color combo on the front and back. The first one was because I didn't have enough yarn of the same color to finish. Seeing your guests' blouse I feel better.
