That must have changed. When I was learning to drive, we were told your plate had to be visible and that’s why u couldn’t back in. Oh well.

Miami Dade college Parking doesn’t allow it, and in few shopping plazas in Miami but usually they have signs!

Is much safer to back park as well ... pulling in reverse from a parking cause the most accidents in parking lots . Those cops need to stop been lazy ; you want to check the license plate , get off the patrol car , walk with your two legs and look for the rear license plate . Or lets have double license plates like in Europe ... Front and Rear ! That will also bring more money for the state budget ; and pay for more security on our schools .

Some states do require both front and back plates such as Colorado for example….

Yeah u can’t drive for sht thinking that’s safe. I’ve seen the most parking lot accidents from idiots backing up and hitting another vehicle that’s doing the same exact thing

We pay enough for one plate already and they cost nothing but metal since prisoners make them. We can take care of school security by banning assault weapons. Use the funds to stop blatant store theft as we watch people leave with carts of merchandise and no one does anything, but raise the prices of what we buy.

What about pulling into a parking space, then driving forward to the next forward space that looks like you backed in?

You are brilliant and that would be a great defense anywhere it might be illegal to back in (which would be stupid anyway). The proof is on the prosecution in a court case, and they could never prove you backed into it. The law would have to be written such that the car must not be parked in an outward direction in relation to the rear of the parking space (regardless of how it got there) for you to lose. What I'd like to know, is what Einstein decided to make parking in either direction an issue. You have to back out of it if you pull into it; no difference. Why not make that illegal too so we can eliminate parking lots? It's a parking lot dammit; park sideways if you want, as long as you're not crossing the lines.

My first parking ticket Miami Beach south beach . I was 16 there were signs “head in parking only.” I didn’t understand that so I backed in 😂 learned fast

Trooper Steve but there may have been no car there when the pulled in and just moved the car up the the last spa e. Therefore they did not back in . They went forward to front space. I have done this before so when u leave just drive forward.

Backing into a parking spot is a form of defensive driving technique. It allows more Visibility when leaving the spot. Florida should change their license plate laws to have plates in the front and the back of vehicles....

When I took my driver's test it was one of the questions and it was illegal to back into any public parking spaces, also the drivers test did not test parallel parking at all. Perhaps I am old and the law has changed.

Lol reminds me when PPJT did pranks on cops giving them fake tickets but we know backing into a parking space isn't illegal in Florida unless a city has a rule stating otherwise with a sign.
