Nice video! No annoying music, no volume changes, does not dwell on one process - gives enough attention to all the processes. One of the best videos i have seen on a out building. 👍Not to mention, it looks professionally done.

This is one of the best construction time lapse videos I've seen in a while. Just enough details to see which construction method you used in each step. There are so many ways to do things. Congrats on finishing too! The place looks awesome.

As a women retired 25 yrs early …who indulges in DIY videos as an epic adventure this is by far one of my favorites. Youre techniques and safety usages 🥰 epic. I will be taking this on in a smaller scale.

He also failed to dig below the frost line for his foundation. He’s going to have massive issues down the road and may need to tear the entire thing down and start over. If he’s in a cold state, he’ll definitely need to. He did a lot of things right! But that’s a pretty massive mistake to make. It’s why you generally shouldn’t be making tutorial videos like this unless you actually know what you’re doing; very easy to miss important details like that.

In his other video he explains that he lives in the southeast and the frostline is only 12". He did dig below that. Hearing the cicadas in the background gives it away.

Not only a great example of the process, but a great example of the process *alone*. This is about the size I'm planning as well and some of the tricks you showed to hang drywall and the like solo will come in handy for sure.

I nearly broke myself this very morning trying to replace my kitchen faucet, and then I log on to KZbin to see you build a whole fricken office to work in!! Big props to people like you who can work with your hands like this. Must be so special to work in a structure you built yourself. BRB, have to fix a mystery leak under my kitchen sink now that somehow happened after I replaced the faucet... 😅

Man I watch these and it takes me back to when I did a deck and shed solo. Along with many other remodel projects. I still have the fire but with work, 2 kids and one more on the way time, energy, and sleep are very limited

Man, I feel that. I have 2 kids and sometimes don’t know how I managed to build this. In many ways, my wife is the MVP of this build for giving me the leeway to do it.

i like how most of your tools looked new; the stickers were still there and there's no signs of wear yet. means you were learning as you went along. i did the same for my patio and storage shed.

@@Tholius There were a few times I had help. My dad was in town twice and helped both times - once with the floor beams and once with the siding. My father-in-law helped me get the mini split in place. Some friends helped me lift the walls and get the door unit in place. My wife helped with the larger windows by holding them from the inside while I nailed them in place. For different reasons, I didn’t get video of some of those. But other than those things, I solo’d the whole build.

The only thing missing was a water source / sink to set up a nice little coffee bar and microwave / mini fridge and at least an enclosed section with a commode to take a dump. The insulation I would have used under the structure would have been sprayed in but that’s me. Great results though

I did seriously consider adding a bathroom, but figured it's easy enough to walk back to the house for that. Gets me more fresh air too. But man, there are definitely times where it would be easier to just have one out here.

If you didn't build your house, I'm certain your office is built with more precision and quality than your home. The care you put in inspecting each piece of material and the precision of placement is just not practiced by most home builders. Such a solid build. Thanks for upload.

I'm surprised you could build that so close to your neighbor's fence/property line. I wish I could do this, but it would not meet my setback requirements. I can dream though, you did a great job.

That plastic barrier you stapled to the bottom I can almost guarantee from experience will trap moisture and create mold.
