Marathas 27 year war against Mughals + raids from Persia significantly weakened the Mughals and left them to be a puppet government in Delhi. Only after that did the Sikhs fill that vacuum in Punjab for a short period. Name some major battles won by Sikhs against Mughals and also the territory gained as a result? Most were small skirmishes.Which battles did the Sikhs save the Hindus in? Did you know that Marathas and Ranganath Rao had to go to Punjab to defeat the Afghans, who were destroying everything including Golden Temple? Only by the time of Ranjit Singh did the Sikhs become self governed as a collective unit and by this time Muslims were all over the Indian Subcontinent, so the argument of them preventing southward movement is invalid. I don't know where you learned such a simplistic and yet false narrative such as this one, but start recognizing that Hindus did something that most other civilizations couldn't- preserve their culture, religion and traditions throughout Islamic occupations/invasions.

Too much money is being now spent on keeping so many infantry divisions, paying salaries and pension and all that. Focusing on cranking up strike capabilities of the air force has to be carried out by saving money on army expenditure and that has to happen by disbanding few infantry divisions, not by not fulfilling army's requirements of upgrading their equipment and not by not paying heed to reasoned demand of the armed forces for increasing their ground fighting capabilities, tanks, IFVs, APCs, armored vehicles, howitzers, rocket artillery, attack helicopters etc. Yes, tanks, IFVs, APCs and other armored vehicles remain extremely vulnerable to ATGMs as of now; but if you have to move in ground forces for the purpose of ground domination, you have to use these vehicles or else 7.62 mm assault rifles of the enemy will become a threat to your ground forces of the kind ATGMs of fourth generation have turned up to be against armored vehicles-since assault rifles and bullets are more economical for your enemy, the ambushimg enemy on their home soil becomes much more deadlier in decimating your human assets and your chances as well. The Airforce wins the initial phase of the war, especially the modern air force with their ability to strike strategic enemy assets including command and comms with pinpoint accuracy thereby blunting the enemy's response but it is the army that has to ensure lasting victory by subduing large scale gradually unfolding ground resistance, insurgency etc for ensuring a lasting political victory. The US air force did not lose in Afghsnistan; it was the marines and army that could not ensure domination across the length and breadth of that topography so as to reduce their human casualties against low intensity guerilla warfare and ambushes. Unlike the expeditionary force of the US, Indian army does not have to travel far from their home bases at the moment, they will either fight in territories in the immediate neighborhood or on their own soil implying they won't have to face as much of logistical nightmares. Army can be an effective machinery if its operational philosophy is integrated with that of the air force and the navy efficiently and if the army knows when and how to field its assets (for example if the enemy has lots of drones and theater ballistic missiles/MBRLs, it would be unproductive to press on with mechanised armor and mechanised infantry towards the Frontline early into the war without the air force achieving air superiority against the both the enemy air force and enemy air defense through suppression of enemy air defense- only after the primary objectives are met by the air force and long range rocket artillery as well as the strategic missile forces, the army would move in. If the enemy has amassed lots of ATGMs and MANPADS, the army should not enter their cities but blockade them by staying in the plain farm land 10-20km away, so on and so forth).

AIM is right star wars prequels may not be well made but the political insight and political theory is on another lvl. People who loves to observe politics will adore the prequels way more than originals. Darth maul and sith is loosely based on thuggi cult in India if you observe closely, and deeper understanding you will get if you watch clone wars series. This can be made further evident if you see Lucas's indiana jones temple of doom which is based on thuggi cult. ya its all western interpretation of good vs evil binary where he thinks shakti is some sort of dark power and shiva is the positive God figure. But you can clearly see where the idea of sith and dark side come from. Even the chorus are all in Sanskrit like duel of fates or padmi's death etc. Regardless the political insight is great in these films.
