19:32 The Marathas lost to the British in the second Anglo Maratha war primarily because of the Doji Barra famine. From 1788-1796, the monsoons failed continuously for 8 years, decimating life in the Deccan. The massive famine was referred to as Doji Barra as the entire area was scattered with bones of humans and livestock. There is a considerable number of Britiish, French, Portuguese sources from the time that document the failure of monsoons in India and the famine. The failure of the Indian monsoons was linked to a prolonged El Nino event, a.k.a the Great El Nino of 1789, which had global consequences, including the French Revolution. The Marathas could barely muster a standing army and the Brits took advantage of it. Grove R.H [2007] The Great El Nino of 1789-93 and its Global Conseqhences: Reconstructing an Extreme Climate Event in World Environmental History, The Medieval History Journal, 10)1&2, 75-98

Everytime I come to listen to some discussion on geopolitics and economics and business from these two learned man specially when US and west tilting towards pak and getting hostile towards India, I find some historic and other unrelated questions. I left this program in this channel. Though I listen to other programs in this channel. I mean specialist should start with the question of their field.

Zetwek is a unicorn that is also into manufacturing, and several other startups like Fashionza, and Zilingo are also in manufacturing.
@roman5782
@roman5782 2 жыл бұрын
Zetwork is a service based startup; it's just that it caters to the manufacturing sector. Zillingo isn't really into manufacturing, it's decentralised/Uberised version of Flipkart. Moreover, it's a Singapore based company run by indians catering largely to the southeast Asian market. It may as well shut down the shop if it doesn't get its house in order.
@rbansal427
@rbansal427 2 жыл бұрын
@@roman5782 Zetwerk has its own manufacturing facilities as well, I know they manufacture electronics in Coimbatore. Also, these startups may not be manufacturing on themselves because manufacturing requires large capital investment while which isn't available unless you have already scaled. Hold on you will soon see several startups with their own manufacturing capacity. if you don't like Zilingo then there is Fashionza
@roman5782
@roman5782 2 жыл бұрын
@@rbansal427 Didn't know about their manufacturing unit. Hope it's a genuine one and not just a unit meant to assemble parts from China and Taiwan. Zillingo did start off well, but their issues seem to increasing day by day. Ankiti Bose in fact could even go to jail. Not much aware of Fashinza. Nonetheless, hope we get manufacturing unicorns soon. Much needed!

@@rbansal427 you are absolutely correct. And the real manufacturing output of any country comes from the MSME, and they need not necessarily be start-ups. For things such as drones or high-end manufacturing certainly manufacturing abilities would be required but overall if you want to set up a factory for textiles garments or plastics or any other thing, that isn’t regarded as MSME. So that’s why the government bought PLI to support the M SMEs in manufacturing, let’s hope that it does good to this country

JWST recently discovered a distant star, the only one of its kind ever seen, which is emitting huge bursts of super charged negative ions every second. In fact it is so negative, on that star (-1) * (-1) = -(-1)!!! Nasa named it Negatron. And at the core of Negatron lies A.I.M!!! TSMC has the technology as of today to produce commercial grade 4 nm chipset. You think India would reach that zenith of chip manufacturing technology from the get go? Are you smoking weed made out of your own feces? This kind of extremely sophisticated technology happens over decades. I cheer for India whether it is The Shakti processor or The Kavery engine. If you don't know a thing about STEM, stick to talking about cookery, interior-decoration and gardening.

India is NOT a world leader in IT. E Europe is much better and has grabbed most high-end Indian jobs. India IT is no longer regarded as great - that was a few decades back. Don't confuse this with Indians who are going great overseas.

@@cyrusthegreat3081 Then call a historian. AIM is a sassy and engaging guest. But he is extremely biased and uninformed on many issues. I have personally observed him pass misinformation on topics that I am pretty proficient in (engineering, startups and fintech maratha history). So, it's safe to assume he does with other fields as well. The guy rarely says 'he doesn't know' and answers almost every question. That tells you how uninformed he is actually.

Really moronic of Mitra comparing a diverse group of people as in India with homogenous dictatorships like Singapore or for that matter China. These succeed since they dont have the baggage of diversity in languages, religion etc that India has.
@roman5782
@roman5782 2 жыл бұрын
I think most diversities will work if there is one big majority component (like Hindus in India or Islam in Saudi Arabia). As long as muslims are less than 3-4%, any non-Muslim county will be fine with the diversity of any sorts. Dictatorship is a double edged knife. If you get a dictator like Lee Kuan Yew or Sankara, you are fine. But a Pol Pot or Mugabe will be bad.
