Cool series! For the record, I love Anson for casual belts. I don't wear belts with trousers or suits (side adjusters instead) but I haven't worn a regular belt since getting a few from Anson. The micro adjustable straps and interchangeable buckles are not a gimmick - they're highly functional. Dorian, have you used one? If not, try it out. You might be a convert. Also, only speaking for myself, but working with a company doesn't necessarily mean you're biased, and I would never lie about a product for money. I wore these belts before we ever worked together, and I still wear them every week (many months after my review). There are definitely unethical "influencers" out there, but getting paid/sponsored doesn't make you one of them. My two cents!

I disagree. I tried these belts and I have not used another belt since. I love these belts. There interchangeable. The buckles are not bulky whatsoever. I've gotten several friends on board with the concept and love of these belts.

I tried Anson belts a few months ago, and since then I do not wear any other belt. The system permits buckling and unbuckling the belt without bending and this reduces wear. Resulting from a car accident, I've undergone surgery in the lower abdomen and this region remains painful. When sitting in a car or at a desk for a certain time, I often need to loosen my belt, and this is both a hassle and indiscreet with conventional belts. With the Anson buckle, you can loosen the belt with one hand while keeping everything in place and retighten it quickly before getting up. Even when importing goods in Switzerland where I live is expensive, I just ordered more Anson belts as for me it is worth the extra money.

I can't believe this review characterized your belt buckles as bulky; perhaps they haven't checked out the full catalog because otherwise they'd have noticed the classic-style buckles you offer. Oh well. Good to see you trawling KZbin comment sections like this :).

Just because Anson is not a high end fashion brand, they automatically dismiss it. I don't believe a belt is suppose to disappear from your overall look but instead to compliment it without being over the top. They are not bulky at all and the buckles and belts have a simple design. Additionally the mechanism is very simple so I don't get what is gimmicky...it does what belts have always done but better and more convenient.

I have probably 14 different leather shoes for work, and matching leathers is challenging. I’ve also gotten into fitness this last year and had to keep buying new belts or have them shortened at a cobbler. I switched to Anson for a majority of work and casual wear and now have probably 14 different straps of leather and canvas. They were great, I get lots of compliments on how well they match my shoes, and have been a real money saver as I lost waist inches over a 70 lb weight loss.

I personal love the anson belts, their belts it easy to adjust especially after a meal and easy to put on. Since I'm on my weight loss journey these have been perfect for me as I get lower and lower waist line. As for you saying they're gimmicky I don't think that whatever ever. I would buy these over traditional belts any day of the week. I own three so far so anyone out that just buy one and check it out for yourself and no I wasn't paid to promote them I truly do love the belt system.

I own both the Kore brand belt and the Anson Belt Dress and Casual. For my business I source items and work to have items manufactured by a ODM to our branding/ specifications. Anson Belt is a generic Chinese made belt design that only has additional branding and slight changes. The Kore appears to be custom and has a lower profile in the mechanism than Anson Belt. Though both do stick out. The Anson model is less secure and the spacing is too far. Look at the gap next time you put on your belt. The slimmer model for dress is even worse and less secure. The Kore does has one new casual model that mimics the traditional E shape in the belt. I do not know how thick it is. I do agree as someone who lost quite a big of weight the belts were much better for casual wear to keep trimming as my weight went down. Also I couldn't get the proper size for the traditional hole belts. Dress I still use belts from Allen Edmond's to match my shoes. If anyone wants pictures of this difference or further evidence/ explanation please message me.

Good video as usual. I disagree on the Anson belt opinion however. I've been wearing & recommending their belts for over 2 years & still love em. So no gimmicks here & I definitely don't get paid by them (wish Frank would send some free belts :). It's your right not to like the idea but to say it's "shit" I can't ride with you on that. The open buckle design is straight for "ME". I remember having a question & calling in & actually got Frank the owner directly. He didn't have an answer so said he'd do some testing & let me know. He called me back a day later with answers & suggestions or an offer for a new belt. So I'd say "stand up guy". Over time those belt holes do get raggedy, trust me. I have several expensive exotic & handmade leather belts (what was I thinking?) that eventually ran into the problem. Now I don't even wear anymore. Just overpriced hides now -LOL. Keep knocking out good videos though. Thanks

I had to sign in just to comment on this as well. I use to think that Anson belts was just hype as well until I bit the bullet and decided to give them a try and but I have to say I'm glad it invested in it. Having a belt that adjust right to your waist size all the time seems like its not a big deal until you actually have the belt and its like damn this just makes so much sense and is so much better. I too have good through a ton of belts that had to be thrown away because of the raggedness caused by the holes and with this belt its just always nice and smooth like its still new. After buying the first belt I went back and bought 2 more to replace my other belts the same month, thats how serious it was to me. I think he need to try the belt out for a solid week before throwing off judgment and thinking that other channels are paid to promote them. I'm glad that I decided to give them a try and trust me those people who are reviewing these belts are not lying for once. And like Chris says the support is absolutely phenomenal, they were very nice to me and prompt with responses.I know I won't be using any other belt but Anson from now on..

Hmmm.. I like most of your reviews but I wear Anson Belts and they are fabulous (to me). I'm not getting paid for the comment either. I wish I was. Styles make fights and opinions are plentiful. For example, I don't like the sweater that Dino is wearing, in this video, but I wouldn't call it s#itty. It's just not my cup of tea (no offense Dino!). Also, sponsorships help pay for content in many ways and/or introduces products to the masses. Too many assumptions are made. The news is sponsored, 60 minutes, GQ Magazine, NYT, LAT are sponsored too so we shouldn't trust them either right? Most everything has a sponsor. Anyway, I'll get off of the soapbox. I'll continue to be subscribed though. Much Respect on the work you do!

i have not purchased an Anson Belt, but i can kinda understand the functionality of Anson Belts .. because yes that half centimeter can make alot difference, especially for a dude like me, because not all pants are made equal.. i wear a range from size 28 to 31.. i purchase them to fit my waist perfectly, the belt should do the same, the belt's purpose is only there for the look.. considering the fact that most belts have 7 holes & a belt should fit to the 4th hole, then basically for the odd sizes 29 & 31, no belt hole really matches.. usually resulting in the need to fit 1 hole too tight.. so pants then tend to jab into my hips.. half centimeter can definitely make alot of difference ;^)

I respect your opinion on Anson Belts, but I can't disagree more regarding them being "gimmicky." I have an awkward size 33 waist and every single traditional belt I've ever worn has either been a tiny bit too big or too small. The ability to micro-adjust is huge for me. Traditional belt holes on everything I've owned in the past have worn/stretched out, but the Ansons I have are still going really strong and look brand new after daily use 1.5 years later. Some of their buckles are big as hell, true, but many of them are quite understated too. I've put a few family members on to them and they've both told me the things are life-changing, and I have to agree. Btw, great advice re. dudes with giraffe-length necks - collars ftw

The reason why I get their belts is because I can't find a 28 or 29 waist belts in the store 😂 Also you yourself has said a belt isn't needed to hold your pants or jeans up as they should be able to hold up themselves and when I get like a size 30 belt, which is all I can find and it ends up being too long on the end that sticks out and it literally sticks out so yeah.

Ashley Weston thank you I will definitely check it and honestly I feel like its just a me thing though like I will ask and other people think it looks fine when the belt stick out a little bit, but I think its just a small OCD thing for me. Like I wear a riggers belt with my uniform (don't worry I don't wear it with regular clothes) in the army and I just get the size where the part that sticks out gets held down by the loop of my trousers so it doesn't show.

I agree with Ashley on the Anson belts being a gimmick. The micro-adjustment is nice, but that's it. I have 5 Anson belts, bought 3, then 2 (back-to-back) in Dec 2016. I will NOT buy a sixth because they have 3 fatal flows: (1) Belt material is too stiff, so it sticks out at the end if slightly too long; I even considered using a paper-clip to hold the end in when wearing T-shirts to avoid the T-shirt sticking out on that side; (2) the Anson buckle is too big and bulky and because of that, it calls attention to itself on a MTM (made-to-measure) suit or dress pants, AND (3) worst thing is that after ONLY 5 months of regularly wearing the brown casual Anson belt, it has visible vertical groove marks caused by the clicker which slides on the back, so talk about crappy quality. My previous gap belt lasted me several years before it had deep mark where I buckle it, and this lasted only 4-5 months!! I went to Banana Republic the other day, and on sale, a similar-priced BR belt on the rack was so supple and soft; it made me regret listening to Aaron Marino and other online (probably) "paid sponsors" who convinced me to try them.

i personally don't like the anson belt offerings but there are plenty more different ones online under "ratchet belt" "automatic belt" As for the system, it's not a gimmick after you have worn one for a day. They are way more comfortable. most of the time a whole notch up is too tight and a notch down is slightly too loose. With the ratchet belt system, you can pretty much get the perfect fit everyday and it is a graceful and way to change the size at a moment's notice.

I own multiple Anson belts, and unlike most of the comments I’ve read here I personally don’t like them. The best feature of this belt is the mechanism. It’s great when it comes to adjusting with ease. My issue is with the quality of the straps. I’ve owned four pairs of the leather straps and each one has been chewed to living hell by the rivets in different pairs of jeans that I own. Wouldn’t by their product again.

I like anson belt for their precise adjustable belt feature. I am fairly slim so the belts tend to have a lot of excess leather. So sometimes the extra material wraps so much behind my back it starts to look funny. If I go with a shorter belt the belt length doesn't go to the next belt hoop and juts out funny. Not having to worry about holes is great. I'm assuming being overweight would have a similar situation.

When you get to a certain age your weight and waistline varies from time to time, Dorian will find that out in a few years time, and and the flexibility of the Anson belt is great! I bought 2 boxes - 3 belts and 2 buckles of each size. Thought the quality was very good for the price and it did exactly what it says! I had a little bit of an issue with one of the buckles being difficulty to release, the Company's customer services was superb when I notified them of the small problem. They simply told me that they were sending me a replacement buckle and belt! I would highly recommend them. While criticising their quality, in the same video you recommended pretty average shoes, guess it all really depends on what you are looking for.

The main focus of Anson belts is to eliminate the stretching and marks that comes along with regular buckle belt. also it helps with sizing.. imagine someone with a really small waist size and can't get his size.. or maybe he gains weight over time or loses weight. buckle belts hardly accommodates for that. so I don't accept your finances opinion that anson belts are "gimmicky"... just because he doesn't like them doesn't mean those who do, don't have an honest reason for liking them. your a KZbinr and you also advertise brands you like, what then gives other you tubers the right to say your opinions are gimmicky. just saying...

Anson Belts are awesome. I agree with most of their reviews, but his review of Anson Belts was “shitty”. I was really disappointed with this review.

Ashley, I've been going through your videos and came on the slide belt comment, what do you think of the Trafalgar buckle and strap that are cinch versus a hole? I also have some casual belts with the same cinch.

Toon is a Dutch (or Belgian) name, pronounced 'Tone'. I have the same physic as this guy, long neck and tall. I bloody hate t-shirts and never wear sweaters without a button up under it (or polo shirt). They should come up with more dressier rugby shirts.

Hey Ashley, my wardrobe is primarily shades of blue, grey (including black and white) and brown (mostly for shoes). This winter I expanded my palette with some select pieces in tan, burgundy, and olive/forest green. Are there any other colors you recommend? Also what about colors that are more appropriate for the summer? sun washed orange, mint green, pastel colors etc…?

Ashley, thanks for the great advice as always, I have a question, I love to wear collared shirts with crew necks which I know you dont recommend but I really like it so my question is, when I do, do you recommend the triangular point of the collar tucked in or out? Thanks!

The only one but also really outstanding advantage anson belts give you, i can think of, is that they don't wear out that easy as normal belts. They don't show wear as much because 1 they are closed and held on the body facing side and 2 they have plastic instead of leather "holes"

@tobyey9134 6 жыл бұрын
Ohh and that you can interchange them easily, that's also really nice to fit them with different shoes and accessories (example same leather as shoe and same metal on buckle as u wear as jewelry)

There is style and there is comfort. I would rather be comfortable and slightly out of style than in style and be so uptight that I can't move. Anson and Anson style belts are great, easy to adjust. Regular belts are usually too tight or too loose. Calling something "Shity" is just being a little to snobish
@MensFashioner

Sorry, forgot to clarify that the quality is/was shitty (on top of the bulky, poorly designed buckle.) So not snobbish at all, unless you think wanting something to be of quality relative to the price is being snobbish.

HI Ashley, I was wondering if you think Brands like Greats,Axel,Epaulet,Buddy or even Common Projects are worth it over brands like Addidas. Is it just more for hype and bragging rights or is the quality and comfort better? Are they like a boot like Ellen Edmonds where they are investment pieces that should last longer. Are they recraftable and resolable? I have been eyeing the Epaulet low tennis trainers in all white. Can you tell me your experience with these brands or any other brand you think are of this caliber.Or is it better just to go with all white Stan Smith because because they will last as long as those shoes? Was not sure if this should be here or on the white sneaker video.

Hi again, I want to know what other options are good for vegan people since we don't wear leather, I know there is synthetic leather options as well, but sometimes shopping can get tedious bc synthetic materials can be hard to find, basically I want to know what other materials can we wear that looks good as leather or close enough :-) I'm sorry if I spell something wrong, my english grammar is lame af.

Have you addressed why you feel this way in another video or blog post? To my mind, items like vests can help lengthen an individual's line, especially if it echoes the color of the trousers. I'm curious about your thoughts on it, in any case.

should we go for a skinny fit jeans or slim fit....since i like wearing double monkstrap shoes...wearing a slim fir pretty much hides the look of shoes and skinny fit seems way to tight . any idea regarding this. i never wore a regular fit jeans except for suits

People don't have long necks. But you can have weak traps. If you feel your neck is too long, just do some trap exercises. You don't need to buy a whole new wardrobe that is ridiculous.

I totally agree with this video on the Anson belts. Every video I have seen on KZbin are people getting paid to promote them. If it works for you cool, but people would appreciate original looks then having a system. It would be creepy for people to be all up in my crouch area just to see a belt.

Totally disagree with their review of Anson Belts. They are not gimmicky..the buckles are simple in design and just brilliant. And that marginal difference of a couple of milimeters in getting the right fit does make a significant feel in appearance and comfort.

Thank you for all the tips. I have a question about suit fitting. Some people say that the bottom of suit jacket or blazer should cover all the butt area. But you said that for shorter guys, the bottom of the jacket should hit the middle notch, which means I cannot cover the butt area this way. I am about 5'8, 138 pounds. Should I choose 36s or 36r? Or buy a 36r and cut the bottom of the jacket?
