Cliff's patience and love for those he speaks to is amazing! Well done brother. You truly want them to understand or at least feel well-answered instead of just run over or explained away casually with a "gotcha" point. * The pattern I notice among many of Cliff's audience is one he proposes something like "What's your better explanation to how order, design, and matter exist?" is they often change the subject. That's basically what happened here. I'm hoping that this is just them trying to make sense of holes left in their reasoning rather than refusal to examine the very real nature of the question. It's truly important that if we're going to reject God/god/the gods, we better have a good reason to other than, "The Bible has been translated so many times..." so what? If the translations are accurate (and we have every reason to believe they are), then there can be a billion translations and it's all good!
@bonnie43uk Жыл бұрын
I've heard Cliffe say in hundreds of video's "I do not know", and that is an accepted answer, so why can't that answer also be accepted for the question of how order and design came about? .. btw, i dont happen to believe this planet we live on has been specifically designed and ordered for mankind, far from it, the vast majority of it is incredibly hostile to mankind.
@sidwhiting665 Жыл бұрын
@@bonnie43uk That's a fair question and I think this is why it makes sense. * When Cliff answers, "I do not know" he's being asked to explain some nuance of God's behavior or nature. For example, how is it that God can exist outside of time. A 3 dimensional mind can't really comprehend the "everywhere, all the timeness" of God. But we can trust that a being capable of rising from the dead also has the power to be everywhere all the time. So when Cliff says, "I don't know" the point is he has enough evidence to trust that proposal A is true even if he can't fully explain it. * On the other hand, the claim "I don't know" regarding how the universe exists without anyone or anything creating it is a total side step of the question. I could respect someone who says, "I don't understand every nuance of quantum physics and how gluons formed into the common sub-atomic particles we see today, but here's compelling evidence of why those particles could organize themselves into what we see today without any creator-being ordering them." Then they proceed to lay out the evidence for why their worldview is better, even if they cannot explain every facet of it to the nth-degree. * In this video, the student doesn't even bother to address Cliff at all and just changes the topic. If you're going to say God doesn't exist, then it your burden of proof to provide at least a high level theory for how and why we see a physical, well-ordered universe. Otherwise, you should at least be honest and simply say you don't know and don't care to learn about it rather than use "I don't know" as a reason to deny God's existence.
@bonnie43uk Жыл бұрын
@@sidwhiting665 I can't recall the kid claiming with certainty that "God doesn't exist", I think the vast majority of atheists take the position that they lack belief in a God, .. if and when such credible evidence is presented, I will adjust my thinking. I know that Christians find things like "a well ordered universe" as proof of God, but most astronomers don't see the Universe as proof of God. Why would a supreme God create a planet that has devastating earthquakes and tsunami's that kill tens of thousands of people, including little children and babies, or create mosquito's that infect children and babies with malaria?. I've yet to hear a credible answer to that question.

I used to not be a Christian but yes, Jesus is real and he is awesome. I don’t hear many Christians say that they hear his voice but I have and love to serve him. The first time I heard his voice was when I was at a Home Depot and he told me to talk to a lady that was working there. So i looked at this lady from a distance and saw that she was working quietly. And so I said to Jesus, “she seems fine, why do you want me to talk to her”? Suddenly the lady starts to complain out loud. And so I say, “yes Lord I will go”. So I went up to her and asked her, “hello, how are you doing today”? The first thing she says, “is that she has had a horrible migraine all morning”! As well she complains about other things. So I tell her, “please hear me out. I have never done this before but the Lord told me to speak to you”. As soon as I said this to her, she opened her eyes wide open and took a step back. I said to her “are you okay”? She replied and said, “yes, it’s just as soon as you said that my migraine went away”. I was in awe as well and I told her what Jesus put in my heart to tell her and she started to cry and said to me, thanks for telling me this, I was falling away from the Faith”. And we hugged and I left. What’s awesome about this is that this was just the beginning. Jesus is real and he wants to save as many as would come to him.

This young man was trying to make an argument for an eternal universe based on the 1 law of thermodynamics. "Matter cannot be created nor can it be destroyed" only applies to the constant existing mass in the universe. In other words, the amount of energy and matter in the universe remains constant. Even Stephen Hawking before he died came to the conclusion that the universe had a beginning. So, the question remains, who or what created the universe. I agree with Cliffe. It is more reasonable to believe the universe was created by God rather than through some evolutionary process (random chance). Design points to a designer. Laws point to a law giver. The student at 8:04 is talking about Leviticus chapter 18, verse 22: "You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. It is an abomination." The Hebrew word ‘yada’ means “to know”. “To know” someone in a biblical sense, and in the context of that verse, means “to have sex with them”, So, to translate Leviticus 18:22 more accurately, “A man shall not KNOW a man, like he KNOWS a woman.” that means Homosexuality is a sin. Strong's Concordance yada: to know Original Word: יָדַע Part of Speech: Verb Transliteration: yada Phonetic Spelling: (yaw-dah') Definition: to know 1a3) to know (a person carnally) God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. He even made a definitive answer for marriage , which is only between a man and a woman, and stated that those who commit sexual immorality will be judged. Being Heterosexual is natural. Homosexuality is included in a list of sexually immoral sins that God doesn't condone, among many other sins, and that all sinners will have their place in the Lake of Fire. Revelation 21:8 But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and sexually immoral persons, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Hebrews 13:4 - Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. Matthew 19:4-6 - He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” (cross referencing Genesis 2:24). 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says that homosexuals and other sinners will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven unless they REPENT. Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. The thing is, Jesus also told us how he views time in multiple dimensions. 2 Peter 3 The Day of the Lord 3 Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. 2 I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles. 3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. 8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance If the Lord sees a day as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day then we are still awaiting the Lord to return. Day 1 - 0AD-1000AD Day 2 - 1000AD-2000AD Day 3 - 2000AD-3000AD Jesus won the world but his mission isn't complete. The new heaven and earth is being built, awaiting the destruction of this earth through our Godless demise as a species and Gods intervention. Revelation 21 A New Heaven and a New Earth 21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” 5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

As a single mom, things have been tough my husband passed years ago. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m struggling to support myself and my children but my faith in GOD is still strong! I lost my job at Forsyth hospital for declining the vaccine. I’ve been struggling since. I declined because of my health conditions lupus, and heart disease. Since losing my job I’ve been struggling to support my children. I’m now waitressing and I’m grateful but I’m not making nearly enough. Mandates are still in place so I can’t go back to any hospital. I’m tired of struggling.But God has provided for me through this storm. It hasn’t been easy. But I know all things are possible through Jesus. I will not fear. BUT I’m keeping FAITH. My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” These things I remember and I pour out my soul within me. @@jasonnoble7302 Like a butterfly struggling to get out of its cocoon. God uses suffering to bring about a greater result. We sometimes don't like the suffering we face, but on the other side of it, we know we learned alot through it. Think of Joseph in the Bible. His brothers sold him in slavery, and he was falsely accused of evil and thrown in jail. But he was where he needed to be for God to use him to save many from famine. And he said later to his brothers, what you meant for evil, God meant for good. Why do animals suffer? Man's sin and rebellion against God. God promises that one day the lion will lay down with the lamb. And there will be peace, and meat-eating animalsl will eat grass instead of other animals. Yes, there is alot of animals violence, and this is part of the fall of man. The first death recorded in the Bible is that God killed an animal to cloth Adam and Eve. Jesus, however, became the Perfect Sacrificial Lamb, who died once for all, so animal sacrifices are no longer required to cover sin. Jesus entered into suffering. Why did Jesus suffer so much for us?

It's the simplest arguments that are often the most compelling, not to mention understandable. Organization in the universe points to an Organizer. Organization does not happen by accident. That, by the way, is a law of science, the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, things tend toward disorganization (entropy). "Aha! But," some will argue, "that's only for closed systems! The earth is an open system (has an influx of fresh energy)!" True. HOWEVER, that only is observable in the presence of pre-existing order, such as that provided by life. An acorn accumulates matter and energy (open system) and organizes into an oak tree eventually, but that's NOT ONLY because the seed is an open system thermodynamically, but ALSO because it contains the genetic material of the parent tree that created the acorn. Absent that genetic pattern, you could flood with energy a similar object having all the other components of an acorn all you want, and it will never organize into a tree. A pre-existing pattern is needed for the open system to organize itself into a biosphere, or even the simplest of cells. If you disagree, show one observation or experimental result to disprove it. All such experiments that tout the 'creation' of simple proteins, always without exception start with raw materials only produced by living organisms. And again, if not, show the one that starts from totally inorganic matter available from an inorganic source. It simply does not exist.
@sebcw120410 ай бұрын
organization points to organization. we see many self organizing structures and systems in nature. as for the 2nd law of thermodynamics: "A simple statement of the law is that heat always flows spontaneously from hotter to colder regions of matter (or 'downhill' in terms of the temperature gradient). Another statement is: "Not all heat can be converted into work in a cyclic process." the earliest "pre-existing pattern" is physics. eventually, chemical interactions following physical laws allowed for a basic hydrophobic phospholipid bilayer to form, creating a protective layer for internal structures. RNA has been shown to be a good contender for abiogenesis. and what do you mean inorganic matter from an inorganic source? carbon is an organic matter, "Stars produce carbon through the triple-alpha process, where three alpha particles (helium nuclei) collide and fuse within a tiny fraction of a second." is that what you wanted? life didn't come from "inorganic matter", it came from organic precursors.

The one thing in the Bible that states All people of all nations of the whole world will know the name of Jesus and be given the free will to accept, repent and take God into the heart. This is true because even people interviewed in the most isolated places on the planet were asked have they heard the name Jesus and know of him and they say yes. All the proof that is needed. I would rather follow and believe in God and Jesus who are good and just and forgiving than take the chance of going alone and face the hell in the afterlife. This is why atheists are such depressed, suicide rates strongly increase, feeling deeply alone as they have no higher power to believe in and pray to. They feel they are just flesh and bone and wander the earth alone with no one above them. These preachers are doing God's will to tell all to hear the name of Jesus so they can never say they were not told in the time of judgement. Save one in thousands is better than not have one in thousands to save.

You seem to have likened “God’s timelessness” to light but I think it’s clear that time does not stop whenever light travels. If God is light, then surely this God can’t be omnipresent given light can only travel at 3x10^8 m/s. It’s also unfortunate that too much exposure to God increases the risk of melanoma.

@@2l84me8 Evidence suggests that the Universe is expanding at a drastic rate. Any expansion would suggests a time when all the particles in the world were once met together. However, to reason with that is that it is illogical to claim that all the matter together into a single particle would randomly explode in the immense amount of energy that was released into an infinite amount of particles. To continue, there is no evidence that there was a universe previously that compacted into a single particle.
