This is a strict personal ethic of mine and so, without further ado, I must say this has been one of the most fascinating askcliffe videos I have ever seen and I have seen quite a few over the many years I have been visiting and commenting on this channel. I commend Cliffe for his honesty, and Stuart too. It was a good episode John, some good questions were asked. I would disagree with Cliffe though when he says "If there is no God, it's all relative .. it's just a preference" .. I would say that how we treat one another is much much more than a preference, it's essential to survival and living in a healthy society.. yes, i can have a preference to liking cabbage over broccoli, that doesn't make much difference to anyone around me, but if I enjoy using my strength to dominate others, that has a massive negative effect upon other people's lives. No god is required for me to realize that beating up other people may be satisfactory to me ( assuming I liked showing my dominance), but it wont help me overall, I need their companionship and help in certain things, so it's better all around if we're sociable and amenable. We see this in hundreds of social animals .. they clearly have no concept of God.

23:42 “I Buy Myself a House” - this is just my two cents, but I think that the answer to this may be relative, and may be between each person and God to decide. I have struggled in my life with smoking weed. I have used weed to solve problems that it shouldn’t, I’ve used it to conceal my emotions and simply forget about things rather than solving the issue. The Lord put it on my heart that I am abusing this thing, I’m taking too much. On the other hand, my older brother is also a long time weed smoker, yet he doesn’t have the same struggles as me. He uses it differently and it isn’t a problem for him. For some people, weed truly helps them and improves their quality of life medically- and they don’t use it as a crutch like I do. So I think rather than trying to say that buying a house is innately wrong because there are starving children, it’s a question of where to draw the line. You have to decide how much is too much. I think in most cases you probably know, but if you don’t then pray and ask the Lord for guidance, and ask Him to open your heart to His answer. This is just what I think, I could be wrong!

From an absolute non believer here .... I'm not running away from any form of god, I don't reject god because it leaves me free to do whatever i want to do. I reject religion because I'm just not about to commit myself to something that i don't even consider to be real..to something I consider to be completely man made. Whether we be believers or non believers, we will benefit from feeding the mind with mind food that refines it. Many moons ago it was customary to keep the people in ignorance by preventing them from reading and writing. This helped to subjugate them, making them easier to manage with their limited thinking. Those on the battlefield could shoot straight enough but they couldn’t contemplate history or communicate with the pen. They were an ignorant lot with low levels of curiosity. Today it’s happening again. History is repeating itself. The true definition of intelligence is not the ability to read and write, but instead it’s about having high levels of curiosity. The masses today are swayed by music that produces intellectual satisfaction, that strips from the mind the intense curiosity that should be residing in it. Contemporary music is simplistic. It has rhythm and beat. This is a throw over from the African cultures that has now permeated all of society even Japan. Lovers of this music do not fully develop intellectually. Oh yes they might obtain university degrees but they don’t have intense curiosity. In times gone by it was impossible to rise to the top if you were at the bottom. The lower classes could never become part of the upper classes. But today that has all changed. We are all swirling around the sea of humanity that allows the cream to rise to the top, even if they are at the bottom of the proverbial heap. These will be the new refined ones in society. But for those who are too hooked on their contemporary music and don’t want to wean themselves from it, true refinement isn’t possible. Like a war dance this contemporary music produces victorious feelings of greatness, hence its appeal. And it does much to compensate the poverty of primitive tribes. Classical music is without the jig. Compared to contemporary music it has no rhythm and beat. And instead of stripping intense curiosity from the mind, it enhances it. For the curious, everything is interesting. They are stimulated people who need not to be jigged up by the jig that’s found in contemporary music. But most will remain hooked on the jig for life. However walking away from be bop a lu la and listening Bach and Beethoven will be a bridge too far for the majority. The refining process produces an accent on beauty. The speech becomes beautified with an absence of coarse and abrasive language. This also happens in the way we dress and behave. Pornography is left in the gutter where is belongs. Enthusiasm replaces eroticism. And men once again see the innocence of women. And as a young man thats desirous of being a business man forces himself to read the Wall Street Journal, much of which he initially doesn’t understand, so too does this new breed watch Swan Lake and go to the orchestra.

Cliffe is absolutely right, "allow your doubts to motivate you to study THE truth (John 14:6)". If you WANT to explain your way out of Christianity (fallaciously), youll find a way as most dishonest trolls here have discovered, fulfilling supernatural prophecy of Jeremiah 29:13, "you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" & Mark 12:30, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.". If you dont want to find out THE truth, you wont, youll subjectively explain it away with no factual substantiation for your belief, only assuming your wv i.e. begging the question fallacy. There is no other reasonable explanation cohesive with reality we all live in, i challenge anyone to explain of one & prove factually HOW you KNOW? All religions cant be right by law of contradiction, God cant exist & not exist in the same relationship to reality. He has proven Himself in His: 1)supernaturally prophetic fulfilled in reality (Romans 1:26-32/2 Timothy 4:3/Matthew 24:6/1 Corinthians 1:18) 2)historically verified (archaeologically & anthropologically by Christians & non-Christians w/enemy/early/multiple attestation, internal consistency, embarrassing reports, etc.) 3)transcendentally/objectively moral (Exodus 20/Matthew 22:37-40) Holy Bible. The wages of this sin is death, physically (Romans 6:23a) & eternally (Hebrews 9:27). If God judges you by His standard when you die? where will you go? Christ Jesus (John 1:1), the Son of God in the Triune Godhead (Matthew 28:19) was born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit (God, see Matthew 28:19, 1:18 & Luke 1:35) to die for our sins (John 3:16/Romans 5:8/Romans 6:23b), taking the punishment we deserve on Himself freely(2 Corinthians 5:21). If you repent of our sins (turning away, not just saying sorry & playing the hypocrite going back to it) & trust in Jesus for our right standing with God (Mark 1:15), we are justified in God's sight, absolved of our sins (Isaiah 1:18), a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). God says whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13). All other religions are works based, Jesus said "I am the way, the truth & the life, no one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6), no other religion claims that, please consider His unique, free offer of eternal life & a clean slate, transformed by the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:2).

The actual extent of Christianity as religion is love others, speak out and defend those who can not defend themselves, or as James says, to visit the orphan and widows in their distress.

I have to chime in for a second on sin....I just heard Cliff say he sins every day. That is wrong thinking. Sure we all 'have sinned' and still struggle in the flesh daily. However..... and I will cite scripture in a minute, Jesus twice told people to go and sin no more. The adulterous woman and the paralytic at the pool. See, too many professing Christians are brainwashed into thinking it's ok to continue sinning, because we can't help it. They say ' that's why Jesus died, to forgive me. While that is true, He tells us not to stay that way. I've been a born again believer since 2015 and I can honestly say that I am sinless and blameless before God today. Of course I've sinned like we all have. But now that I'm being sanctified daily by the Spirit, I am regenerated and no longer want to lie, steal, covet, hate , cuss, lust, etc. Blasphemy bothers me deeply when I hear people use the LORDs name in disrespect. So I challenge all who read this comment to study the scriptures. Nowhere does it teach it's ok to stay in sin. Look these verses up .... 1 JOHN 3: 4-9 1 JOHN 4:17 JOHN 8:11-12 1 PETER 1:14-16 JOHN 8: 34-36 1 JOHN 2: 3-6 JAMES 1:12 JAMES 1 : 21-22 ROMANS 6 : 1-3 ROMANS 8 : 1-2 & 6-8 SO you see? This is truth. Don’t start with the “contradicting “ gospels lol, if there’s different people, writing at different times, with different views of what happened, with different testimony about what happened, your not getting the same exact detail to detail accounts. What matters is- angels were at the tomb, the women left in the morning to the tomb, the women found the tomb empty, and the women fled scared. The women told the disciples. If you don’t count the longer end of mark, the women still flee and are scared of what has happened, and along with the other gospels and the fact that we know the claim today shows the women did tell, wether not immediately within the same hour, or afterwards. Also there is really no reason to exclude marks longer ending if you are Christian as the doctrine of biblical truth and Gods word.

Atheist here: All religions cannot be correct. Even within Christianity, all theologies cannot be correct. But all religions can be wrong, including Christianity. // ... you don't put your faith in yourself ...// We all put trust in ourselves, and other people. It's how we learn - from experience. I trust myself to do things correctly and to accept correct ideas. But I also know from experience that i can get things wrong and that I can easily do and think wrong things, and that some other people are not trustworthy. It's how I learn to navigate through life. If I simply refuse to trust myself to do anything, then clearly someone else or something else must be manipulating me. //... if there is no God then the moral system you have created ... is relative ... it is not real objectively ...// You have opened a can of worms. I don't think that claims for objective morality really help you. If you look at theists, including Christians, they are as confused or otherwise as are we atheists when it comes to morality:- a. Some atheists do accept that morals are objectively real. b. In the OT, God endorses chattel slavery, the killing of other humans, and child sacrifice as examples. These days, God supposedly does not endorse them. So are the three practices objectively moral or not? If they are objectively moral because it's up to whatever God commands, then is a person who murders another person for the reason that God commanded it, undertaking an objectively moral action? c. Theism is the antonym of atheism. Theists worship many different Gods. Even within Christianity, there are many different theologies about God and some of those theologies contradict each other. So when Christians disagree over some action, one calling it moral, and another calling it immoral - then how do believers decide who is objectively correct. d. etc.

The point that he is making is that without God (or a god) there cannot be objective morals because there is no authority to say. In your post you said you trust yourself to determine between “right” and “wrong.” If you don’t believe in God who are you to say your opinions of right and wrong are actually right or wrong. What if Hitler believed what he was doing was objectively right? Without an authority that states right and wrong there is no basis for anyone to argue they are actually doing “right” or “wrong.” While within churches there are differences in interpretation it is not difficult for a Christian to know generally right and wrong. Jesus Christ outlines very clearly right from wrong in the Sermon on the Mount in Mathew 5-7. Also as a Christian our hope is in the goodness moral perfection of Jesus Christ and not in ourselves for salvation. I hope you will put your faith in him!

That's why he did them. //it is not difficult for a Christian to know generally right and wrong.// Same for non Christians. Perhaps I needed to spell it out more clearly. But my morality comes from a variety of sources - my upbringing, the society I live in, my conscience, my sense of empathy, and so on. As I person, I have to evaluate all these sources. Thus, I could decide to steal a motor vehicle but my conscience may well prevent me. In another circumstance however, my empathetic sense may force me to do it. I don't think that morality is always so clear cut as reading a book and thus knowing what to do because "God said so". If it were that simple, then even Christians themselves would not argue over moral issues. But they do.

@trumpbellend6717 You need to understand the word of God to understand that a lot of the things you speak of from the old testament where specific at the time a lot of it still applies today, Jesus came to fulfil the law and not abolish plus we live in a new covenant now.

Assertions Assertions Assertions no evidence This video is saying absolutely nothing. you can't do this or that. I heard nothing from the students just cliffe and start preaching assertion after assertions.

I do like this format of q and a but I favor the defense of Judio christianity in the format of scientific proof especially in regards to the shroud of Turin because people in our society except scientific information and god has theology lockdown and yet he goes the extra step to reveal himself in a scientific format and also address the dna 🧬 evidence in our dna 🧬 and his own it’s so awesome 👏 trust Jesus he is the best there was best there is and best that ever will be 😊

How does the God hypothesis predict the existence of DNA exactly ?
@EddieRicks-i8v Жыл бұрын
@@jasonnoble7302 this subject took ten years to recognize it has 4 parts because it is a huge source of information I can just go over one ☝️ there is robotic protein like enzymes that copy the DNA 🧬 sequence and each robot has multiple parts and that in itself means that we are constructed by something highly advanced and massive. The other is there is a message in the dna code that is in part mathematical connected to only one human language that is ancient Aramaic and it says something interesting 🧐 but I let those look for it and see it from themselves

@@EddieRicks-i8v My question is: How does the existence a God predict the existence of DNA exactly ? For complexity all that’s necessarily required is energy and chemical reactions. DNA is simply chemical reactions. God doesn’t predict the formation of complexity any more then energy and chemical reactions. Gods desire to create is equally as random as a chemical reaction. God is not the best explanation

@@EddieRicks-i8v What is the difference between God predicts the existence of DNA And God can be shown to construct DNA ? If you can’t predict God created things how can you predict God constructed DNA ? There no difference there 🤷♂️

The Bible "word of God" is the truth that is why so many workers of iniquity exist to discredit, disprove and / or pervert it. Pray for discernment so that you may be able to identify the workers of iniquity and stay away from them and their dangerous doctrines. God already said what to look out for and how evil men would act when confronted with the truth. Trust in God and lean not unto your own understanding and all things will be added unto you.

They could all be wrong though. We know the vast majority must be false and naturally emergent from human culture.

"We know the vast majority must be false and naturally emergent from human culture" I have a foundation for truth of my claims, im still waiting on HOW you KNOW your claims, among them added, "the vast majority must be false and naturally emergent from human culture." You havent proven your claim _factually_ true, only _assumed_ on faith of fallible men, i.e. begging the question fallacy. I pray the only triune God of the: 1)supernaturally prophetic fulfilled in reality (Romans 1:26-32/2 Timothy 4:3/Matthew 24:6/1 Corinthians 1:18) 2)historically verified (archaeologically & anthropologically by Christians & non-Christians w/enemy/early/multiple attestation, internal consistency, embarrassing reports, etc.) 3)transcendentally/objectively moral (Exodus 20/Matthew 22:37-40) Holy Bible reveals Himself to you in Spirit & objective truth (John 16:13). May the triune, infallible, omniscient God bless you with faith in Him, not fallible man’s limited knowledge of theories.

@robmc120 I told you that I use the cogito as my first principle. I'm thinking. There's something that I know for certain. The claims of many religions are mutually exclusive. They can't all be true. How do you know God has fulfilled prophecy, is historically verified or objectively moral? Isn't this just a theory of fallible men? Where's your foundation of truth for those claims?

If there is a God and He has an enemy, God has one religion and then his enemy attacks by manufacturing all the others to try and confuse and divide us.

@@spooky6902 " told you that I use the cogito as my first principle. I'm thinking. There's something that I know for certain." Thats all you subjectively know for certain, as you havent substantiated anything to make any claims about objective reality, all you have is a subjective claim you exist, no objective truth to KNOW anything else.

@@spooky6902 "How do you know God has fulfilled prophecy, is historically verified or objectively moral?" I gave examples of cited prophesy fulfilled in reality today, historic verification uncontested by even skeptiocal scientists, such as Jesus existing but no body to be found (for example) & objective morality only possible if it’s said there’s evil in the world, it’s logically assumed moral good exists which logically assumes a moral law to differentiate good & evil, which logically assumes a moral law giver; no moral law giver? => no moral law => no good => no evil =>no actual morality.

There's only one truth if there were more than one it wouldn't be the truth. If you believe in truth then that's the path to Jesus.
