my dad legit screams at the top of my lungs when he vomits. he also makes a blubbering noise and both combined makes me nauseous as well. luckily i haven’t vomited from hearing him vomit but i’ve been close a few times. good to know i’m not the only one who has to deal with absolute nauseating sounds when someone vomits. just in case someone tries to connect the dots with that story and mine, my dad is single and has been for years. if that story was posted to reddit like four or five years ago maybe our stories might’ve been related. so yeah if anyone screams while you vomit, stop. everyone around you most likely feels sick as well when they hear you scream-vomiting so please find a different way to vomit.

My dad can't read either, but that was due to a mix of him having learning issues and not wanting to learn. It was difficult for him, so he never actually tried to learn. Since getting more modern technology, he has started to learn a bit, but stubbornly says that he doesn't care that he can't read, he doesnt care that he needs help to go anywhere or read anything, and he doesnt want to read. He once got mad at me for reading a book and declared that he thinks that no one should read and that all books should be burned. I do not particularly understand him.

@@nicolahobbs5985 i mean probably but he won't admit that. It's bad enough that it's influencing my little siblings to also struggled with reading. It's not genetic because both me and my older sister were raised by our mom's and both read exceptionally well, my two little siblings being raised by my dad and stepmom are falling way behind, my little brother sees my dad at his age and thinks that it's not important to learn to read, my dad constantly says that they can't learn to read just like he couldn't but I've spoken to my grandparents, he never tried and they didn't make him apply himself in school

If he needs help all the time because he can't read, there's no point in enabling him. He needs to learn that reading is pretty much required to function in a society. He can't rely on others forever.

Reading is an essential skill, him being stubborn and influencing your siblings isn't good. Having learning issues isn't really an excuse but maybe his parents failed him and I don't know his situation.

@@ChrisBear1989 his parents did fail him. They enabled his refusal to learn. Overall, it's a huge mix of neglect, permissive parenting and stubbornness that lead to it. So far I am seeing that my siblings are behind but still learning to read. I just don't want them to end up like him

It hurt A LOT, and I started obsessively checking his phone, he didn't even hide it, I would only check when he was watching me check it. It completely destroyed me, even now over a decade later I still get anxiety and (rarely) the need to snoop through my current partners phone, which by the way, I don't do.
