Plus the military experience, leadership roles, management roles, and clearances sure look nice if you ever consider transitioning out.... Not that I am. If I had enough money to be able to afford a supercar, then I wouldn't buy a supercar, I would just buy a regular car, good, reliable, but not expensive. There are much better things in life to spend money on. Who cares if your supercar can go faster than all other cars, if we all have to drive at the same speed limit? A car costing 5 times less is good enough for transportation. There is a bell curve of how much use one gets for their money. Going off too the side would be wasting money, but not getting any increased use out of it. So put your money to good use.
@DuBstepAnDa982 жыл бұрын
They're mostly buying them for fun. They're rich and bored and a super car isn't really going to financially impact them that much. I'm sure they understand that. Some of them have 2nd everyday cars just for transportations sake. Not everything has to be business related. I completely understand you though.

Dear Lord, I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself only. I am sorry, and I repent. I ask you to forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life; I give it to you. From this day forward, help me to live every day for you and in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you. Amen.

People that can afford these things are the "idle rich" - meaning their stocks - real estate - royalties - trust funds - old money fund their lives. And others are lottery winners - genetic lottery winners ( heirs ) or "trophy wives" etc . . My point is when money becomes an abstraction and a person has so many assets that they cannot spend money faster than it comes in - you have this ostentatious / absurd consumption of "supercars". AND this video is CLEAR empirical evidence of the absurdity of our current capitalist and political system AND the absolute necessity of wealth taxes - much higher taxes in general on the very wealthy - AND the elimination of loopholes - offshoring tax havens - corporate welfare - and the cap on FICA.
@igkoigko99503 жыл бұрын
Assuming for the purpose of this reply that your definition of “idle rich” is accurate, what justifies taxing it away. The fact that you and I may not approve of how the idle rich spend THEIR money is no justification to use government force to seize that money.
