That solo was sick. I know they have been wanting to be more of a rock band instead of metalcore. But the last two albums were more pop alternative rock sounding. This gives me an 80’s rock vibe. This is definitely the right direction if they wanna be more rock n roll. I’m now looking forward to an asking Alexandria album for the first time since the black album.

My thoughts on this song is that it feels like a good blend from Like A House On Fire (dad rock vocals) and the self title album (Instrumental). As a long time AA fan, the latest record wasn't for me. It sounded way too mainstream and it was bittersweet and something I wouldn't listen to but this song, it's quite solid from start to finish. In awe! The vocals are point, Danny nailed it, such a catchy chorus. The guitar work was beyond greatness because Ben is a beast and so are Sam, Cam and James. Stoked for more music! Despite the metalcore touch being gone but the heaviness still there somehow. 🎧

Good lord that chorus is huge. Im really digging this sound. It feels like they really found that balance that the last few albums have been looking for. Well no not completely, but it's a massive improvememt over what they did before. Guitar is heavier which I like. Still not the AA that I know and love though. They obviously know what they have to do to get back their old fans. Step in the right direction. But this half-half shit is not going to work. They'll have to decide if they want to be pop/rock or metal again. They got their fans in the former, genre now, but they'll never be as big as they were unless they satisfy their original fans again. But that's just my opinion. I agree. This is a new vibe for them and It's nice to hear the Band unlike the last couple of albums. The instruments are vibrant and in your face. Edit - Also danny's vocals are perfect. Not that flashy stuff he was trying.. A lot of recent AA tunes turned me off because of his vocals.. I mean.. Ben bruce and that solo :O

I wouldn't say Sevenfold for the solo. Because Syn is way too technical of a guitarist plus the lack of harmonies etc. Great solo nonetheless. But it's definitely more Metallica or maybe even Pantera like

@hobofraggins79863 жыл бұрын
This was a banger. People are saying it’s “trash” because it doesn’t have screaming. A song doesn’t need to have screams in order to be good. Instrumentally it’s heavier than the last album and if you expected screams like the days of R&R and SUAS, Danny has said multiple times that they are done with that era. This song was a banger and that solo was nice and the double bass James did in the solo at 3:47 really was satisfying to hear especially as a drummer myself.

Screaming for music is actually harmful and can ruin your voice. Maybe the band nor Danny are into that as much as they were in the past. AA, nor any artist, do not release music to appease everyone. @UCKqqM4tvMFETlps5yKH9nJw and whats actual metal? Ok they sound completely different than what they have put out in the last decade, life happens they have changed and most are not happy and I understand that buuuut so has avenged sevenfold and most people don't like there new shit either just like Asking Alexandria. But asking has always been a band where they have always written music for themselves its really never been about the fans they have always been in it for themselves the reason why they had grown such a whole following is because...people loved their shit. Asking also has been that band where if you like than great continue to stay tuned for our upcoming shit if you don't than OK than fuck off don't like it don't listen.

That or after he returned to the band and do not want to do the same thing that they've done before in their carrier.
@higashikatajosuke57043 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. When they did FDTD, Danny wouldn't even show up at the studio and the whole band would be mad at him. Ben said he'd quit long before the day he quit and pretty much everyone was just waiting for Danny to call and tell them he didn't wanna be there anymore. After sobering up, he didn't wanna scream like before, but he's said he's been enjoying the band much more than before. Ben also said recently that both him and Danny have a lot of fun together making music, so I think it's just a matter of perspective and not wanting to do what they were doing before, call it their past selves (their drunk ass selves or just a regular metalcore band) or what they used to do (like binge drinking or being on drugs). They've changed a lot over the years, not just on their sound, but in everything and I think this song is meant to reflect on just that :)
