@@ahuman9113 It still has structure, riffs and rhythms, some of it is extremely abrasive and aggressive but there are tons of great grindcore songs. Calling it noise either means being ignorant or only having listened to some particularly noisy bands. The more death metal influenced side of grind such as Rotten Sound and Nasum is probably the easiest way to get into the genre, they're still 100% grindcore but you can always tell what is going on and what is the idea in their music.

Hi, total guitar noob here. I want to get started playing guitar, mostly because just like Nik I want to be able to play along to / cover my favourite songs, but I realized with electric guitars it's not that easy to replicate the sound of every song because of "pedals" and effects and stuff. I feel like there is already such a high entry fee just to get a guitar and amplifier, but then if I would want to play songs from different bands I'd also need to buy loads of pedals or what not just to get the right sound, no? Is there a cheaper alternative or...?

rap1d (advice from someone who’s been playing for 8 years in multiple lives shows) don’t even worry yourself with pedals and fancy amps an stuff just yet dude, get a guitar that feels comfortable to you, a pick you like, and just practise. Doesn’t even need to be plugged in (I even prefer to practise with no amp). Youll start to pick up little bits of info on pedals an different tones over time but the big issue a lot of people make is making them their main concern and end up lacking in their physical ability. Hope this helps
