Peak of this band. "From Death to Destiny" is one of the best rock/metal albuns from the last decade. They are HIGHLY underestimated by old fans that enjoy the only 2 first albums and people who know them only from the latest miss this one. It''s a gem.
@johnnymorningstar13132 жыл бұрын
I agree. I love how the first 3 albums tell the story of going from a broken heart in the first album, in the second Danny is over it now that he has fame money and girls, and in the third he realizes it was destroying him and he needed to get out. Then he actually left because he knew he had to. I like some of their newer stuff and I will always love them for getting me through shit because those albums have literally been the soundtrack to my own personal life. The new albums show a more mature side, which is cool, but From Death to Destiny ended up being my favorite release of theirs.

This music Video is really powerful. Each vending machine symbolizes a different kind of Drug. 1. The one with the red hair is alcohol 2. The one with the razor blades is cocaine 3. The one with the pill on her tongue is obviously pills 4. And last the one with the black hair and veins is injecting drugs/heroine The kid is a younger version of Danny where he chooses to select his destiny by choosing a vending machine. When he selected Heroine as his destiny, rich and fame came along with it. For where the money rains down it unleashed all 4 of the drugs and then destiny became a whole new level. I believe they were chosen to be women to basically say how hard it is to quit these drugs.

It's weird to be 40 and seeing people who weren't born when I was in college talking about how meaningful this song is to them because they heard it when they were kids. I remember what that's like, but up until recently music that I couldn't relate to was all decades _older_ than me, not decades _younger_ than me. 20 to 40 goes by faster than you can imagine. Each day feels like it plods along just like grade-school did, and that is deceptive, because the weeks, months, and years blur together.

I don't believe everyone understands what this video is about. Each of the girls has a key item in their appearance that should make it obvious. This song/video are about addiction. One girl has a pill on her tongue, another with razor blade earrings, et cetera. "I won't let you be the death of me." Addiction.
@johnsmallpaw624210 жыл бұрын
What addiction does the girl in the red represent and what addiction does the one with the rubber tape on her nipples represent, the one licking the box. I know the rest, the pill for the pill or something, and the white dust for cocaine or something.
@Gunmanmeanssniper10 жыл бұрын
+John Smallpaw the video is representing the drugs like thw girl in red is alcohol, the girl with the pill is of course pills, the woman with the razor blades is cocaine and then the last on with the black viens is injections. Danny Worsnop said that this aswell

The only time of the day when I felt like I had "power" or control about anything was when I listened to this song. I used to play From Death to Destiny from start to finish over and over again through the days. I don't know how or why but the lyrics of this song helped me get through all of those horrible times. I refuse to believe this song is going to be 8 years old. Damn! From Death To Destiny was a sick album for sure. This was the first time Asking Alexandria took more heavy metal elements with metalcore thrown in there as well and execute them perfectly without giving a sold out image because this was still heavy beautifully done. I remember when this song came out in a cloudy afternoon with tons of hype around it and complemented the song Run Free as to what we were to expect from this record. I miss this era.

"And I'm better than ever" fucking hell, when I heard that Danny is coming back to AA I screamed like a little bitch. Without Danny, Asking Alexandria was just terrible. I've always listened to this band because of him and when he left i just stopped listening to their new stuff, it would've felt like cheating cuz the Snop is the real shit. Of course I like the rest of the band, but NO ONE ever can top Worsnop, it even rhymes.
@DetectiveAnoose8 жыл бұрын
Honestly...I am actually glad Danny is back. Sure he did fuck over the band before with his excessive drinking, drug use and laziness but of course, all the band members had issues and I believe they have matured. Denis...well I do like Denis for his singing, screaming and growling but I am convinced that he is really a thieving shithead. I mean...he fucked over Make Me Famous and he left the talented Down And Dirty for AA, only to leave them within a year and a half. I mean...half the fans are incredibly salty with Danny's second comeback because they believe he will fuck over the band again with his country style singing. Don't get me wrong but Danny has a really great voice and I prefer his growls/roars over his screaming because to me...that is AA that matured and developed. Plus his singing skills are astounding man, even if raspy.

I don’t usually share personal stories in the comments... but this song hits so deep right now. About 6 years ago I was in a really abusive situation with my step dad, and my mom, who encouraged him. I made a lot of bad choices and destroyed my reputation, but... my mom got sick and we completely reconciled. She became cancer free and I started to turn my life around, but have been struggling with some of the ramifications of those few years. Fast forward about four years, my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer and her husband is trying everything to make this hell of a situation even more hell. This song is literally, every word, completely what I am feeling. But I won’t let it be “the death of me,” and “I might of lost my mind before but I’m back and I’m better than ever.” Thanks for reading, and this is encouragement for anyone going through a rough time. You can do this. You can fight back. You don’t have to let your demons win, no matter who or what they might be.

it speaks to me "this pain has left a hole where my heart should have been" = for me, in my way of dealing with emotional pain I learned to not care, to ignore it so heartlessly. "am blind with rage and I can't shake this feeling" = to me, deep down am just angry, am angry at 2 things in my violent past, people who coused me physical pain and thos who caused me emotional or phycological pain. I can relate to the song because it reminds me of myself and my past. right at the end where he sings "am back and am better then ever" = to me reminded me of myself now, how I am now "better than ever" and I didn't realise it. I had to take headphones off because I nearly cryed it hit me that hard.

They were all so miserable especially Danny. Thank goodness they got back a hold of their lives before it went fully down the crash course.. Each album by them tells a story. I think their first though was just the mask before it started crumbling.

I saw these crazy gods tonight! They were fucking amazing! Ben bruce sang to me! Eeep! I screamed I love you and he mouthed "I love you too" this happened multiple times! Then after the show I went to their tour bus and met Ben! We hugged, shared our love, smoked a couple cigs, took pics and he signed my tummy, phone case, t-shirt and my ticket! He smelt sooo good! Like damn child! It was his first time getting to shower on tour right before I got to meet him lolz! He is so sweet and a really chillin dude! And yes he's more gorgeous in person! ♥ He knows my name and its kinda hard to forget me and my friend since we were pretty much just hanging out behind the pagent for a while. Plus I have half black half red hair and red contacts so maybe he will remember me. God I was so fucking awkward! But holy shit it was so worth waiting outside for an hour to meet him! I also met the guitarist in all that remains. He kissed me on the cheek and almost the mouth a bit.... ya I don't know he was drunk but indeed a punk rock jesus! This was literally the best night of my life so far! I want to go back In time and relive that majestic hour over and over and over again! Meep ben is so cuddly! x3 damn hannah ranting much! But ya if you ever have the slightest chance of meeting your idol no matter the consequences, just fucking go for it! ASKING ALEXANDRIA!!! FUCK YEAHH!!! ♡♡♡

The sailor woman was Cocaine. The woman with the tape on her bust was meth _or_ heroin. (Not sure.) The woman wearing the star pasties was prescription drugs. (I believe.) And the woman with the cute chubby cheeks in red was Alcoholism.

So Im guessing the girls represent different kind of addictions. Sex, drugs, self harm etc. And the boy is picking his destiny cause addictions most often start young. Am I sorta right? lol

I know this song is about overcoming addiction, but before I saw the video, I thought the song was about overcoming your demons and not letting them control you. This song helped me overcome my suicidal tendencies when I was 16 and boy I am glad I disobeyed my parents when they told me I couldn't listen to Asking Alexandria when I was younger.

"My friend, sin is merely a measure of perspective." So its so weird listening to the song that inspired my first tattoo, cause i haven't heard it in over 3 year. Still a good song though

Danny: "Hey kid, you wanna see something cool?" Boy: "Is it bad?" Danny: "My friend, sin is... merely a matter of perspective." "Am I insane?" I ask myself over and over again. "Am I alone Surrounded by sin?" And I think It might just be the end. "Am I insane?" "Am I insane?" "Am I insane?" "Am I alone Surrounded by sin?" And I think It might just be the end. Yeah! I won’t let you be the death of me. No, I refuse to let you bring me down. [Bring me down] I won’t let you make me out to be The one who’s in the wrong. And I’ve lost my mind before, But now I’m back And I’m better than ever. The devil came to take me to hell, But I'm already there. The voices grow fainter but they won't go away. "Am I insane?" "Am I insane?" "Am I insane?" The devil came to take me to hell, But I'm already there. I won’t you let you be the death of me. No, I refuse to let you bring me down. [Bring me down] I won’t let you make me out to be The one who’s in the wrong. And I’ve lost my mind before, But now I’m back And I’m better than ever. Now I’m back And I’m better than ever. The tears has left a blur That I can’t explain. The pain has left a hole In which my heart should be. I’m blind with rage! And I can’t shake these feelings: Irrational, Impetuous, Intemperate! I’m blind with rage! And I can’t shake these feelings: Irrational, Impetuous, Intemperate! I won’t let you be the death of me. I refuse to let you bring me down. [Bring me down] I won’t let you make me out to be The one who’s in the wrong. And I’ve lost my mind before, But now I’m back And I’m better than ever.

This video is actually inspired by a part of Danny Worsnop's life. Each girl stands for a drug he did in his like or whatever; heroine, alchohol, pills, and meth or something like that. It's like a song he chose to do those but trying to be set free of this destiny or whatever he picks.- Heroine. So this song DOES HAVE A MESSAGE. All of their new songs do.

AA used to be my favorite band back in my teenage scene kid days. 6 years later, after years of narcissistic abuse & being sex trafficked, I randomly woke up with this song in my head. Just listened to it & it's more powerful & relatable than ever 💔💔 I've never struggled with addiction but I battle demons & trauma every day... For me, I will not let my ABUSERS be the death of me. 💯

Unpopular Opinion Even This Version "The Death of Me" Is Better Than The Violence

How is that unpopular? I think majority of fans will agree with you. The Violence sucks!! For me I'd be so happy if this song (death of me) was their "soft" sound and they had a few metalcore songs as heavy songs.
