Hi! I’m Canadian and have been living in Ecuador for 34 years! I clicked on your story because I was interested if the Canadians would help you, and they did! So nice to hear. I’ve lived all over British Colombia most of my life and it gets very cold,I admire the two of you. Brings lots of memories, we lived on my Dads boat for years until the town of Kitimat , B.C. started to be built. In British Co,Umbria I met three tourists on the beach and asked them for dinner at our home and we have been friends and in touch ever since… for 30 years!
