A man lost his wife who just gave birth last year December during my stay at the hospital while my mum was sick, and he was crying and throwing himself on the ground. The next thing we would hear from the people around was, stop crying you are a man. And I was like, you say!!?? For God's sake this man just lost his wife!! His wife!! A culture that won't even allow you mourn your wife in peace because you are a man. I love love love men who are so expressive with their feelings.

This is so apt. After we will complain that our men are not romantic or expressive because we expect them to bottle up their feelings. Take a look at suicidal rate, it more among the male gender. As a mom of two adorable boys, it’s important for me to valid their feelings per time. I mean, why tell a young boy or man to “man up and stop crying” when he is first a human and God creates humans to express themselves and their emotions. I mean John 11:35 specifically said that “Jesus Wept”, (He WEPT- now that’s a higher level of crying). If our savior always expressed Himself to show how human He is, why do culture place such unrealistic expectations on our men? This is a burden and a prayer that a paradigm shift will continually take place in our generation especially in the area of intentional parenting. May we continually incline our heart to wisdom. I dealt with it before I got married only to find out my husband has stretch marks , I was so grateful it didn't irritate me anymore, it's just art stripes on the skin 😁. Someone said if someone says you are useless , think of it this way , "they use you less " and that's on them not on you.
