Hi. Great video and thanks for sharing. So true and high school is rough. I got bullied from grade 6 to grade 11. It was horrible. I skipped school half the time because of that. I couldn't focus in class. I finally started to enjoy high school in grade 12 when they all stopped bullying me, but then I had to graduate. I'm now 43 and I still remember all the mean things and all the nice things said to me. You give great advice in this video.

when you said that people remember comments for forever. i couldnt agree more. im currently 17 and when i was about 8, a group of people in my class (including me) were all getting weighed and everyone weighed like 70lbs and then when they saw the 90 pop up when i stepped on, they just looked at me. then when i was in fourth grade, this lady came into my class to talk about like dietary needs and i told her what i ate in a day and she told me i was unhealthy, and that i was living an unhealthy lifestyle. then a kid in my class told me a few months later when i asked if any of the boys liked me, he said “let your mirror tell you! of course not!” and some things just stick. especially when youre so young. and i dont hate these people, but i definitely won’t forget what they said or how their comments/looks made me feel.

18:15 Crazy things… So for me- being in the military, my parents never met my boyfriend>fiancé> husband… and yeah when I finally brought him (had the chance to take him) to my home state… my parents absolutely said crazy/disrespectful things. But at the end of the day, parents will have their opinions no matter what on your life choices. So stand strong, and protect those that you love and care for.

I’ve made “complimenting more” a New Years resolution before. Life changing. Even just taking the extra time to fill out surveys at restaurants if asked, I did them. I did it to also help me accept a small compliment (welcomed and not creepy ones, of course) I never knew how to react or would dismiss a compliment cause I just always felt awkward when I didn’t have to feel that way.

When I was in high school, I wish I’d also known that college doesn’t really matter. I was obsessed with escaping my hometown and spent soo many hours stressing over where to go to college. And then college was over in the blink of an eye lol I attended a top tier university, went on to a great law school, etc. and honestly now I realize that it’s all just about prestige and not really about quality education or a better life. I wish I’d followed my actual passions and not what I thought people wanted from me, and now I’m trying to re-structure my life in my late 20s to do more for myself.

AJ's face when the " I don't have to tell you" part came up 😆. You can tell that answer really bothers her haha. Been there, done that and FELT that sister. We all have honestly . As someone who's only a couple years younger than your mom I identify with her side a little more now ( Oh God does that make me old!? 🙈) and see where she's coming from but definitely during my teens everytime one of my parents would pull that card I would start burning up inside hahah. Also, I know for a fact that you would absolutely adore the series one tree hill. When you started talking about hs it immediately came to mind. You will get so much out of it especially at this time in your life. It's amazing. One last thing, you are doing great. I know that high school is a struggle a lot of the times for so many different reasons but the perspective that you have about it shows that you are going to be more than fine cause for a 15 year old, you my girl seem to be pretty well rounded. I know it's easier said than done a lot of the time but don't ever let the social pressures of high school get to you. Always stay true to yourself and the ones who truly care about you and love you. That's one thing you will never regret and always remember you have a whole army here on yt cheering for you. ❤ Jennica you may still be young and learning yourself which I can only begin to imagine how scary it is when being "in charge" of shaping another person and trying to teach them about life while still trying to figure it out yourself but you are doing great. The way you expressed yourself here about all of the subjects shows that. You are an A1 mom :)

My daughter's actual accounts on some things she has signed in even on my phone.... unless she asks me to write someone specifically to help her with something difficult....I don't look at it. She's sooo open with me, so she'll share it without me asking. I'd prob get upset at the teenage drama like u and hold grudges.... so avoid all of that. But her friends can't believe I have unlimited access and I don't feel the need to look. I love that you have such similar styles as I do with my girls. Many ppl DO NOT UNDERSTAND the reasoning and dynamics behind things and our relationships, but it's so much better to have an honest and open dialog at all times. My kids are never scared to tell me or ask anything....& that's the best feeling in the entire world. To this day I can't lie to my mom.... I've always tattled on myself or have TMI & I think my kids picked up on that 😃!

The girl who I thought was my best friend has called me a s*** to everyone and spread rumours about me. I’m literally 13. I went through a really hard patch of depression in year 7 because my entire grade and even kids from other grades would constantly make fun of me for existing.
