Gabe is correct in the WILL YOU GIVE ME A HUG question. My guy friends have educated me about this, never let a guy hug you if you are not comfortable, and they told me the same exact reason.

@@nia5128don’t take this the wrong way but if you are scared to tell any guy no they should not be in your life. If you see all men this way maybe therapy is the answer. 99+% of guys out there care that your yes is truthful. If you are scared to say no then your yes is not a yes. If I ever heard my one of my sisters was afraid to say no to some guy he would end up in a hospital.

As a guy, can confirm. I never asked for a hug, but as a teenager, anytime a girl did hug me, all I was thinking about was her body touching mine. The brain of a teenager is extremely simple, more so for boys. So yeah, don't think a teenage boy who isn't in a relationship with you is hugging you for any other reason.

I’m Indian so periods are such a taboo thing especially back then, so I wasn’t really allowed to tell my brothers about it but I did it anyways. They all now know everything about the female body because I refuse to leave my brothers uneducated about a woman’s body so he can at least understand how to go about certain situations.
@amandaprice87

Please don’t take this as rude because I am just a curious young girl…. Why is it so taboo? When an Indian man gets married do they end up being able to hear about it from their wife or is it still taboo? I’ve always thought as an American woman that it’s weird that society talks about it but men or boys don’t really feel comfortable talking about it until their older older… or married. Lol I was 25 when my dad finally was secure to talk about it with me and buy tampons… lmao I’m his youngest out of 3 girls🤣

I think it's cuz it's "girls problem" you know....well in India people think women are impure during periods and bla bla .... anything to put women down...let me tell you now periods are pretty normal and boys do know about them here, at least boys from modern and non-orthodox families.. like my mother would never let me go to temple during periods but she would also never stop me to talk about periods in front of my brother or father rather she would allow me to make my older brother do all the work with period as an excuse..

You don’t feel tampons when they’re in. However, if you aren’t bleeding a lot and then take it out dry, it hurts really bad. But if you’re bleeding a lot, you can tell, and then it doesn’t hurt to take out. It’s definitely a feeling when you know to take it out but also we know not to leave them in very long so we pay attention to the time. Hope this helps!

ABOUT THE HUG THING : I think it depends on the guy but my boyfriend's "can i have a hug?" is definitely his flirting technique to initiate the first kiss. And when he asked me that on our first date, it was clear for the both of us that "can i get a hug?" was code for "can i kiss you?" PS : I said "no" the first time he asked 🤣

Sometimes, i am so jealous of people like Jess, who can proudly say "i had a wholesome childhood". These people seem to me that they start on a very different level than me or other people with weird/full of abuse childhood. I mean our nervous systems are different, we react different as a result of trauma responses, there are so many complexes to unpack once you grow up. I try not to think that way.. but sometimes i just wish i could say that. I wish i didn't have to deal with all these.. every child deserves a wholesome childhood 😔

I relate to this so much. I look at my friends who have a wholesome family relationship and feel that going to their parents is a safe space for them. It is hard to grasp that it is such an accessible reality for them, yet not for us. It's horrible to think that once you grow up, you realise you were robbed of a happy and normal childhood, which no kid deserves to go through. But, I feel as though people with these experiences become the best parents because they want to give their children what they didn't have.

37:33 It's not that women are attracted to the financial status of a man's job, I think it's also what the job IS. Some women will prefer a man who does physical labor through firefighting or construction, others might prefer a man who's a teacher because he works well with kids, others might prefer a man who works hard by leading an organization. The financial side is a big part of it because men can show themselves to be protector by providing resources to a woman (security), but it's also the personality and work ethic that goes along with the career (hardworking, dedicated, leadership, etc.)

Also story time, this was in regards to guys coming up to you topic. I was in Barnes in noble the other day, looking around, I dropped my keys and this guy that was walking next to me went to pick them up, when I was closer to it, so it was awkward but I was like ok he’s just being nice. And then he said merry Christmas and cute keychain.. a few minutes later I’m in the Bible section, and I see him casually walk up like as if he’s looking in the same section. Within a minute, he addresses me again and says hey I think you’re really pretty and wanted to know if I could get your number. I panicked and didn’t know what to say lol so I said I was dating someone sorry. And then he proceeded to chat with me about well he figured if it was meant to be he would see me again etc.. 😳 at this point I’m trying to politely remove myself from the conversation. I ended up buying the book and left. I then went to target, it was in the same shopping complex. I was in the clothes section and I looked over and I see him! Looking at girls clothes right next to me… I immediately got weirded out and left. I couldn’t tell what was happening, that didn’t feel like a coincidence. He had to have followed me the minute I left Barnes and noble. I understand guys need to shoot their shot and that’s ok but don’t do that guys 😂

Oh my gosh, defenitly would reccomend the salt mensturual cup. (Pinkish one). i prefer pads mostly too unless im swimming then i liked tampons, but i tried the mensturual cup awhile ago and couldnt get it right but watched videos and informational articles, anywho, tried it again in the c formation, and im literally obsessed with it. You cant get toxic shock syndrome from it, can wear it for 12 hours, i only do it during the day, and depending how heavy your flow is you only have to change it like 1-3 times a day, and you just rinse it off with water or unscented soap made for the cup before inserting it again. I also wet it with water before inserting it which helps, but It holds a ton! I thought i would spill it everywhere too but literally easily just pushed down and pulled it out. There sometimes is a weird suction feeling when taking it out but, i didnt leak, or have to worry about it. Then you sanitize it at the end of your cycle and can reuse them. Cant even feel it if its in correctly but theres different kinds deonding if you have a low or high cervix to see how comfortable it is.

I personally think on the creepy question that two guys can do and say exactly the same thing. One will be deemed cute and the other deemed creepy, and it all depends on whether the girl already has interest in the guy or not. Not sure if I'm explaining it correctly or not. Edit: I'm an old dude. Hugs have the definite benefit that Gabe stated. Jess is incorrect on this one.

If a girl they deem pretty approaches them, they feel like they just entered heaven😂 but, if it is a girl they deem unattractive, would laugh about her to his friends once she left.

About the pee streams, I don’t know if we can make it slower, but we can definitely make it stronger by pushing and stop it for a bit by using the muscle called “pelvic floor muscle”, which controls the release of urine, and alsooo, it’s good to do exercises with that muscle like squeezing (which by doing that stops the pee streams) and releasing, so you don’t have problems when you are older by having incontinence because the muscle is weak. But don’t try to stop your pee streams every time and for long, because it’s also not really good if you do it like that

In the past, I had to use the giant tampons and change them like every hour. It works like a tampon but it holds more and the best part is there is no more scent and yucky feeling in your undies. I use the lumma and it’s my favorite!! Discs are also better than cups because you can use them during sessy time. They are the best and that is a hill I will die on.

As a guy on the hug thing, I think it's more nuanced than that, and I disagree with Gabe in general. I don't really ever ask for hugs from girls. The one time I can think of, in college all the guys would greet each other with a handshake and the girls with a hug. Once I was leaving a room and there was a girl there who I absolutely wasn't interested in, but I said bye to her, then thought better of it, and walked over just for a quick hug. And she sort of chuckled. And based off that chuckle I was like, oh, that hug probably wasn't necessary to complete the goodbye, and maybe somewhat unwanted. So now like, I only hug a girl when she initiates. 95% of hugs, like greeting hugs or goodbye hugs, good guy technique to not be creepy is to do like a side hug, place your sternum solidly on their shoulder bone. Zero breast contact. The very occasional hug where you hug the body is like, a close friend or relative in a really emotional moment you want to cherish in some way. But to Gabe's point I think that's too broad. Sometimes guys will ask for a hug if it's part of a pattern or practice to greet/part with hugs, not because they want to feel you up per say but because they feel indignified by the fact that you didn't think to give them a hug when you walked in, or before you left. Which is also a bad reason to ask for a hug but not solely creepy.

38:49 I think women would be more attracted to certain men based on their job because it shows they can provide, even if the woman is still a “boss bitch” it’s a safe feeling to know your man got this too. Especially when you’re on maternity leave etc in future you know you and baby are taken care of. Another case could be physical attraction. I’m not necessarily attracted to men who earn loads of money and I’m not attracted to men who wear suits for work. I like a man who works outdoors or with their hands and is t afraid of getting dirty and then scrubs up well for a date night or a wedding etc. I’m very much into having a farm or homestead so I think that’s why I’m attracted to that where as a man who works in a high payed job in a suit walking down the drive with a brief case just doesn’t seem like it would work. The dogs would jump on him and cover him in hair or mud, chickens need feeding, goats need cleaning out and we got dirty jobs to do 😂 So it’s definitely different for each women on WHAT type they like based on that but I would also say I think it’s a primal/biological thing too of feeling safe and looked after (whether that be physically or financially)

In regard to men approaching you. In my mind, if a random guy has the confidence to just come and approach me out of the blue, my first thought is, how many girls has he done this too. I straight away would think he is a player and not one to trust. Maybe, if he was completely awkward and you can see that he is freaking out😂, I would not see him as a player. For the guys in the comments though… I think the only time to approach a random girl is if prior to approaching her, there has been eye contact between you two. Though, at this point you need to read the air… is it a look of interest from her or a… omg why is this guy staring at me. But please, never approach a girl if there has not been any prior signal that she wants you to.

For anyone interested, this is what I'd say about the period questions: For me it feels more like drops of blood coming out. I mainly use tampons and if you push them in deep enough you shouldn't be able to feel it at all. Jess said that it's harder to pull out when they're full but I disagree. When they're full its easier cause the blood makes it more "slippery". If the tampon is dry it's hard to pull it out. In my country the description on the box even tells you that you shouldn't put a tampon inside, if you're not on your period because of that reason.

My last relationship worked as I was the eater and he was the garbage disposal. He would eat whatever I couldn't, or the food in the fridge that I forgot about. And that was one of the very few things that worked well in the relationship lol

I live in Europe. I don’t use tampons anymore but I preferred the ones without the applicator. I think they are made with rayon. So it expands when wet as opposed to the U.S ones which seem to already be expanded in size.

Hey, I am from Germany and we have also Tampons without the applicator. And for all of you who use pads and are not really a fan - try reusable period underwear! It is not like a diaper and is less wet when it is full. Or try Cups or discs. They can stay longer and you have less mess. Also, it is more environmentally friendly and it saves money!

Regarding pee stream: it's controlled by your pelvic floor muscles, which are used to pee, for bowel movements, for birth, lifting heavy objects, etc. Women are more susceptible to weak pelvic floors (which can cause all kinds of problems like painful sex, pee leaks, and problematic labor. It's not a good idea to stop your pee stream (that contraction is called a Kegel) because it can cause UTIs and weaken your pelvic floor

Also homeschool boys are literally the worst with the “Can I have a hug” thing. We have four boys and I’m trying to teach them that if it’s a social situation where they feel like they have to ask, just assume it’s a no. It makes the girl feel safer and doesn’t put the pressure on her to have to tell someone not to touch her.

Dunno if someone else has said it in the comments... But, in, Australia, we do have tampon applicators (tampax). We don't have a lot but at least two brands that I've used. Also, you can buy a reusable applicator online!

Arent we (particularly women) supposed to stop mid pee as an exercise? Ever since i had my first baby 8 years ago i have always been told to make sure i can stop mid pee otherwise i'll have pelvic floor issues. But reading these comments, people are saying we shouldnt stop mid pee?

Yeah - should not stop mid stream. I was told that too but it is much worse to do that! Find some actual pelvic floor physics to follow and you’ll get some good advice. The belle method, and the bloom method are pretty good - I learnt lots and also from other accounts too (these on instagram)
