One of my greatest regrets was never making an effort to get to know my dad and he passed away 4mths before I was suppose to go and visit him. He studied in ABU, Zaria, was also an engineer and because he lived in north Nigeria for a period of his working life, he adopted a similar dressing style to what your dad had on in the video. Thank you Habiba. Your mother must be so proud of you. I share your videos with my friends some of them had mothers who were ‘Niger Wives’. My late dad had a similar stature to your dad - tall and dark. He also had a similar profile to yours. He met my late mother (Trinidadian) when they were both studying in Oxford where I was born. My dad also worked in Radio Broadcasting (in Ibadan c1958) . I also worked in Broadcasting in Lagos before I left for 🇬🇧in 1978. My mother passed in Trinidad before Christmas last year. I was not able to see her thanks to the pandemic restrictions.

Mistakes happen but in time we realize that like he said, there is a bond and he was a Hausa man who was influenced by much. I can’t count how many times he said your name, truly you will always have a special place for him as his 1st child and 1st daughter. You have really beautiful half siblings too. I pray in time you guys get to see and meet each other. My dad passed away 5 years ago and one of my treasured videos is one I did where I gave him a toast for his 70th birthday. Always important to give ppl their flowers while they can still smell them.
