Thanks so much for your support and encouragement-I really appreciate it. I have a good friend who is also Filipino. I’m truly inspired by your efforts to settle into a new environment and make an effort to learn Cantonese. I pray that you will find some supportive co-workers. You got this! 加油 (gaa1 jau2). All the best!

This is very cool! Great work ☺☺☺ Q. How would I use 到 (dou3) and 度 (dou6) though? Both sound similar....is 到 used like a final particle when asking how to complete something? 多謝老師!!!

唔使客氣。 Good question. “到" (dou3) is a verb, e.g. “arrive”. For example: “你幾時到呀?" - “nei5 gei2 si4 dou3 aa3” (When will you arrive?); While “度"(dou6) when referring to places is used as a noun. For example: “你喺邊度呀?"- "nei5 hai2 bin1 dou6 aa3” (Where are you?)

Well done! Q1: I used to go to Festival Walk a lot for a period of time which was ages ago. Q2: In this scenario, we can answer “呢啲嘢係我㗎。"-“ni1 (many people say li1 so it’s also acceptable) di1 je5 hai6 ngo5 gaa3”. The reason is “我㗎" means “mine” here while “我" alone means “I”. We could also say “我嘅" (ngo5 ge3) which means “mine” in this context. If you’re interested in pronouns, this video may be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZ3QY3eOpc5rpMU
