I am planning to start learning Chinese tomorrow (by God's Will) and was searching for videos that talk about things I need to know before starting, and this was the first video that came up. Your video was fun and helpful, thank you. You seem to have a nice and cheerful personality. 👍

😂Don't get fooled by the statement that Chinese word order is the same as in English. It may work only in short simple sentences. Chinese is a left side word order language whereas English is a right side word order language. It means that in Chinese all description in a sentence tends to the left side of a sentence. So, if you don't accept it right away you're gonna be in trouble making sentences in Chinese 😄 And one more thing: Chinese think in a different way. Let's say "What is your name?" a Chinese will turn into "You call yourself what name?"

I have just started learning mandarin and I am reading 'REMEMBERING SIMPLIFIED HANZI: BOOK 1', it teaches hanzi without its pinyin, is this ok, or should I be learning the pinyin alongside the character learning? and then when is it good to start vocab/combination of the characters for words.

Jessie, even the people that invented English, speak English with different accents... In England one of the accents is known as a Cockney Accent, then there's the East End accent and the Northern accents... So there is no correct accent for English because even in the Native country they have different accents

Is it better/practical/more usefull to start learning simplified of traditional chinese ? (I believe that both is incredibly hard to learn🥺🙈)
@ianhruday9584 Жыл бұрын
I've been learning for about 4 months, and I'm using simplified characters. Practically speaking, you should study the writing system that is used in the literature you want to read. As a side note, writing simplify characters will be easier than traditional characters, but the real challenge in learning a language will always be speaking and listening. Don't get intimidated by the writing system, because that's not the hard part of language learning.

Hello everyone! I'm looking for an English language partner to practice my English speaking and listening skills. I'm a native Chinese speaker and I'd be happy to help you practice Chinese in return. I'm an English learner and I'm looking for someone who is patient and willing to have a conversation with me on a regular basis. I'd like to improve my fluency and vocabulary in English, and I believe that having a language partner would be very helpful. If you're interested in practicing your Chinese and helping me improve my English, please feel free to leave a comment or send me a message. I'm open to chatting online, voice calls or video calls, whichever works best for you. Looking forward to hearing from you and improving our language skills together!

Is Standard Mandarin like Standard Oil. It got too big and a monopoly so government broke it up into smaller oil companies. So if that happened to Standard Mandarin then their would be Exxon-Mandarin and Arco-Mandarin and Amoco-Mandarin and Mobil-Mandarin and Chevron-Mandarin and a few others. I was always called Moose since I was tall and i didn't know Japanese Kanji for that and there is no Kanji for Moose so none of those animals in Japan or China. So I figure it's probably big like a horse and has horns or antlers like a deer also I'm kinda big. So Kanji for me could be BIG HORSE DEER or 大馬鹿. Is "大馬鹿" a good Japanese and Chinese name?
