We look upon them as bag heads that look after themselves, liars, cheats, deceivers, their only concern is to con people, and that is all parties. Politicians are not fit for the workplace, incapable of doing an honest day's work, to they lie their way into parliament. The last Labour mayor is to go before the courts, at some time, Joe Anderson for doing a Dereck Hatton, brown envelopes pocked for awarding contracts to his mates, and guess who took his place, his daughter. That is how corrupt Labour is, no different than the Conservatives, Greens, the whole lot of them.

It seems a lot of people don't actually pay attention to what others say. He never called Starmer left wing. He called him a Champagne Socialist, which I would still disagree with, as Starmer has made no effort to hide his upper class interests, but I can understand why you'd think him such if all you get are the soundbites he likes to put out from time to time where he likes to pretend he's for working people but his hands are tied in making the 'tough' decisions to f them for the benefit of his own class.

To be fair to him, from his earlier point at the 50 second mark it doesn't sound like he's a Tory supporter. And honestly, speaking as somebody is sick of Tories, Neo-Liberalism, and absolutely wants to see a progressive new agenda focused on investment and rebuilding for the future, saying the Tories are more trustworthy than Labour is not entirely inaccurate. At the end of the day, the Tories don't hide their contempt for people. They're being perfectly honest when they attack immigrants, benefits, or defend privatisation. Starmer and the front bench of the Labour Party on the other hand are very much, as that same guy called him at the start, Champagne Socialists. A cabal of upper class elites who preach leftist ideology as and when it suits the public messaging, but whose class interests are diametrically opposed to such policies, and we all know that push comes to shove they'll be doing every one of the Tory cuts and funnelling every contract they can into their friends and family's pockets when they take power. I'm not deep into watching every political statement either party makes, but the times I do see Starmer giving speeches he's more often than not either agreeing with Sunak, or proposing the same policy as Sunak, but just claiming he'd implement it better ... whatever the hell that means. not to say that it isn't cute so many believe this Labour government will be better than the Tories based on Blair's coasting off an economic boom that is no longer there, but hey, we can all hope that the magic economic growth tree might bloom on our island one of these days, right?

Representative Party politics is meaningless at this point. Combined with the fact that even when you elect one of two elites they cannot effect change anyway because our government is antiquated and expired. Listen to Rory Stewart explain what it's like in government. We need to evolve our democracy, decision making needs to be expanded to incorporate a much larger demographic of people, we need to digitalise and provide for elements of direct democracy.

Actually I would say they are blinded by pre-existing leftwing hang-ups. No labour leader is ever going to make the grade. They probably would have turned on Corbyn in the end if he had had to come down from heaven and do the grubby business of politics. The beloved Clement Atlee went of plenty of policy journeys in his career and he didn’t always carry the left with him. He and George Lansbury certainly parted company on the issue of rearmament.

@alistairrobinson3865 @davecross4493 @enjoysilence4146 Don’t want you to think my comment is based on a blind bias against Keir or Labour (used to vote labour, have never voted Tory) Im from Ashington in Northumberland which if you look into will see the strong ties to Labour, historically. An AL Jazeera investigation (available on KZbin) called The Labour Files took me some way to questioning the party and then a Financial Times interview with the shadow chancellor compounded that. Purely my opinion and I’m not trying to convince any one of anything, open to the fact I may be missing something. We have so much choice in nearly every aspect of life, from beans to bread to rice to coffee etc etc etc etc, with the first past the post system we’re so limited (I think) in an effective vote. All I’m getting at is that’s it’s easy to look at Labour in the current climate and think they have answers but that’s like looking at a boat which is on fire and one which is sinking and coming to the conclusion you’ll last longer on the one which is sinking. They’re both the same vessels. Look into shadow ministers, listen to what they’re saying (beyond mainstream media). Look into the treatment of Jamie Driscoll and others (The Labour Files AL Jazeera) do your homework and appreciate that YOUR vote is extremely important.

The difference between the voxpop people of Liverpool and Tamworth was stark. Very thoughtful and considered answers from the people interviewed in Liverpool in comparison to the people of Tamworth, it was like a chasm. However I noticed it tended to be mainly young people in Liverpool rather the older folk of Tamworth. The younger teacher in Tamworth whose mother was in the NHS had a better handle of what life is like in Britain and echoed what the majority were like in Liverpool. Even the old chap in Liverpool who likened Sir Kier to Hatton was still more considered than the general voxpop in Tamworth. Surely to goodness the Voxpop in Tamworth did not reflect the entire town and lets hope not the Country or else there is no hope left. Thanks people of Liverpool (apart from the first one) for making me feel there is some hope.

Why do people see no alternative to Tory vs Labour. There are alternatives that are progressive. I'd happily see a strong near equal coalition of Greens and Labour. A strong share to not let slippery Starmer get all that he wants. Being left is not to be feared. There is a need for radical change for the majority of the world but the smallest percentage holding the power and the wealth and want to keep the status quo fooling us with a democratic state with choice. Standing for parties like the Greens can be daunting as they are a young party compared to the main three but they can make a real difference if put in position of power with Labour or even the Lib Dems (at a real push) but as long as they are not a tiny minority so to have real influence in the politics. We live based in fear as so many have worked under the system we have had for sometime and fear loosing things like power (yes only a small amount but still more than the jones's next door), wealth, property and more. Yes you did well to get these things in a system, that is heavily stacked against most working people, disable people or anyone that is different in anyway. To upset the system as it is will take RISK and are you prepared to vote differently?? This is just a view of a simple guy, not massively educated and not wealthy in any way. Just someone that can see how it could be but can also the courage and risk it would be to get there for a better world for all. Because the way we are going our differences will continue to be used to divide us and make us fearful and our world will burn.

A bright guy who came from a humble background. He was one of the most promising lawyers of his generation who could have made a fortune in corporate law. Instead he choose cases like the McLiable trial. He had a hugely successful career in public service before he moved into politics. You know how all the ‘they’re all the same’ people complain that politicians have no real world experience. Well Starmer does. BoJo and Starmer really could not be more different. @@tonycowinHow is Starmer going to keep power? It will take decades to start to sort the country out after the past 13 years and he won't do that by having a party nobody relates to. Being "Not the Tories" only works when the Tories can't just pull their party back to what you have become, in order not to be them..

What a sad state our country is in. You can't vote for policies anymore, so what's the point in a manifesto? None of them have any interest in building a country that makes life easier for everyone it just feels like a boxing ring between the working class, the rich and business & you just back the ref who's going to screw you over the least

I'm not sure what the purpose of videos like these is bar clicky content but its always worrying that people don't understand *why* the political landscape is the way it is. But then again, until the tories made it form of cruel entertainment people weren't that engaged. Now its literally become personal. The sooner Labour can get in and do something the better. Unfortunately there may not be much left bar a total shell of the UK.
