Nicola Sturgeon spoke as a true opposition leader. The Labour Party was set up by working people in order to help the working masses find political representation and also to enact policy changes that made life more liveable for the working masses. Now, the fact that the leadership are basically silent and only get a lead in the polls when we are in utter catastrophe-mode, rather than on the merit of their policies, is a sad testament to the fact that the Labour Party no longer represents what it was set up for. This is a part of the reason why Sturgeon and the SNP have become the actual opposition to Tory ideology in Scotland, why the SNP always win elections and why independence is now seen as necessary by many in order to build an alternative to the neoliberal consensus which prevails at Westminster, with the agreement of both major parties. This is what Starmer should be saying too, but when has he really said anything of substance? He spent more effort on purging the left out of his own party than he has in opposing the Tories. The Tories are obviously despicable and anybody that doesn't detest them either has an interest in their policies (i.e., they are a part of the capitalist class) or is just stupid. There is no other explanation for it that I can see.

Tory policy is culture war bullshit and performative cruelty to asylum seekers and the sick and disabled. It IS fascist. In 1933 the Reichstag burned and Mr Hitler blamed communists and told the people he'd keep them safe if they gave him emergency powers. 2020, the tories tell you there's a virus which you all believe. You all handed them emergency powers. You believed the numbers they made up. You believed the flu was dangerous. You gave up your freedom for safety. That is how fascism works. They make you fear then make you seek solace under them.

I think it's clear that regardless of Tories or Labour, the general public has just lost faith in the government and its system overall. Everyone wants something more middle ground and still have the kindness to think of and try to help the weakest in the group. Until we have a party that is like that, with actual real decent and honest politician, the country is fuck. Tories, Labour et al, if they are all a bunch of elites, privileged and never really know hardships and have the relevant experience to actually overcome it, it's just hopeless.

No I do not agree. ´Everyone´ does not want something more middle ground. If you mean to the left of what we have then you are correct, but what the Tories have done since Thatcher is shift the political spectrum to the right, so that now every mainstream party in the UK is now to the right of Ted Heath (who was considered right-wing in his day) and the centre has shifted accordingly.

Would you be interested in supporting a growing public political party?
