I know a doctor who bought a corner unit in Iskandar. He renovated it quite well only to get posted to KL. The last I saw his house, it was rented. But I doubt the rental can cover his installment since it is a landed property. My take is, buy where you can rent and rent where you want to stay.

You'll be surprise that, purchasing something this big requires years of planning, in term of suitability & timing. If plans are uncertain, best don't commit first. Not to mention, one must consider their first house will not their be last.

Totally agree on the taking care of baby part. Smaller home win but if you have 2nd or 3rd baby with a kid that is 4-5 years old then go for a home with 3 rooms and soundproof a guest room. That way you can still do activities and make a certain amount of noise without waking the baby

Precisely the point! My friends always tell me it’s such a waste that I’m renting my first house out while I’m renting another condo for own stay. What they don’t understand is the house i bought does not meet my personal commute needs and the one I’m renting does. and it has always been my intention to treat the house i bought as an investment, building equity 10 years down the road. So, never buy your dream home as your first property. (Applies to city area). Kalau you duduk sub urban and less likely to move around, beli je lah dream home

Awesome content! Very on point justification. I doubt the young couple could understand or imagine the wisdom transfer to them without they themselves experience what I have highlighted to them! Am also in the medical industry thus know the young Drs mindset generally quite well due to many of them have very limited exposure

I'm paying high for my rental but I'm staying 10 mins away from work. It's worth it but I fomo and feel like buying a house because better pay for your own house than other person's house . Adulting is hard 😂

Btw, I am looking for JB property as very soon I may change my job from KL to SG, and don’t like the horror stories of tenancy in SG (and I can’t afford a property in SG with that high tax paying as foreigner for nothing)
