@dsadasdas5620

This statistic can be shown in the Netherlands where all the population of men are tall, not because they grew, but because of natural selection. alot of females in the Netherlands in the 1900's prefered tall guys, and therefore more tall offspring. Due to this fact, not alot of short offspring is born because they cannot reproduce, which is quite disturbing to think about that short men are actually unintentionally being whipped out. This case will be the same for some other countries as well in the near future, and eventually this phenomenon will occur with other characteristics like blue eyes, blonde hair, skin colour, and also with women like big boobs, big butt etc. So I predict in the next 100 years or so, the world will be full of 5'9 - 6'4 men only with blue eyes etc, and 5'3 - 5'6 women with big asses.

@@dsadasdas5620 This is a bad prediction. I see where u are coming from but women have always prefered more taller men from the beginning of time and the avg height in both male and female both really only drastically increased in the last 200 years, scientist have confirmed that actually has way more to do with improved nutrition, health, and in general a better quality of life which has most likely peaked now and less to do with womens height preference. Is it harder for short men to create offspring? probably a little but not nearly as much as u think, its really going to come down to each man but most the short men i personally know have kids so i just havent seen that theory of its extremly hard for short men to make offspring to be true. And for the blue eyes prediction, blue eyes have seen a very drastic decrease since 1950 by about 40%. But u are right about the big butts bc the hormones in all the food and the fact that people are getting fatter which leads to bigger butts for women.

3:09 I dated a 6’3 volleyball player. I can assure you that she was the one that created all of the “odd” moments. - She didn’t want to wear her heels. Despite my not caring and telling her to wear her heels - She would slump down for pictures - She was always looking around to see if people were looking. - she said she felt masculine being the taller person (edit 13:03 I’m glad a woman confirmed this in the video) - constant self deprecating comments about insecurities surrounding her height. - she would starve herself because she was concerned about being tall and fat. I’m not even short, I was just shorter than her. I think women always blame men for this dynamic, but women certainly contribute it.

It could NEVER be that they have flaws, right?! It has to be that the guy was "intimidated." I take that as code for: she has a lot of masculine qualities. It's not intimidation, it's that masculine women are not that attractive to most of us. We want a feminine woman.

Facts!!! It still baffles me to how they come to such silly conclusions, in what way do they actually think they intimidate us men, its us guys that are far stronger than them regardless of how tall a guy is, even the shortest guy isnt really intimidated by them and as for them talking about insecurities, they have far more of those than men so maybe they should get over their own insecurities rather than projecting theirs on to the man

To be fair what a lot of men go through when a woman makes more than them is a feeling of inequity, for the most part we want to be protectors and providers. A sense of inferiority can develop when a man does not feel he can be both those roles to a woman. Now you might be that 1 in 1,000 straight male for which that does not apply but the vast majority of men want to be physically and financially dominant in a relationship, and theres nothing wrong with that.

I've dated a girl like Nicole before. I make average salary in DC, and she was a high earning individual. She would continuously call me out and belittle me for my salary, even though I had no debt, and a huge savings, I didn't spend money on useless things. She would continuously call me out about not increasing my finances, and then ended it with me, and said "you're a great guy, be more confident with your next girl." It had nothing to do with confidence. She kept pounding me into the ground belittling me for the finances, and made it seem like I wasn't confident enough, because I didn't want to argue, or get a new job in the IT field. I don't know what happened to that girl, but it will be very difficult for girls like these to get men unless they self-reflect.

That's always a weird one because the stats show more "successful" people are on-average taller... and I wonder is it a biological thing, did those studies compensate for malnourished individuals, or as you've put it "an imposing height" gets the promotion by default? Similarly there's been studies that have shown that more attractive women tend to get more job offers, so appearance biases are definitely real.

Being a guy that is 5'3" this is one of the most difficult parts about dating. I don't lie about my height and am not self conscious about it (I've dated 5'9" women in the past), but I get rejected "a lot" based solely on my height. I don't mind if my date is taller than me or wearing heels, but it seems that the woman is the one that is self conscious because I am shorter than her, and she doesn't want to be seen with a man that is shorter than her. I think the women you have in this video are way more based than the average woman in the United States, and they make great comments and points that the shorter guys are self conscious about their height. I can tell you that at one point I was very self conscious about my height, and probably self sabotaged some relationships, but knowing that that caused those problems I don't worry about superficial things that don't matter, such as height. However, these women also mention the things that are more meaningful to them than height (being assertive, having emotional intelligence, being a good communicator, etc.), but let's be honest; would any of them date a guy shorter than them long enough to identify if he has these traits that they are looking for? Thanks for sharing your video.

The woman who doesn’t want to date men shorter because they’re “emasculated” is, in my opinion, lying. She is blaming men for her biases. If a guy said, “I won’t date a heavy woman because she’ll feel self-conscious about her weight”, we’d clearly see he was lying.

Honestly I'm short, I'm not very dominant and i can accept and understand that's what i seem to society and what society doesn't realise is short men like myself, dont want society (women) to feel bad for us, or date us just to see if it gets them off and "experiment" because they feel they have to. I can also proudly comment that fat people need to get over themselves, like i have with my height and accept that they are lazy, atleast they can actually control it.

In my short-guy experience, after having a first date, values, personality, and chemistry take over, but height plays a big role in getting your foot in the door and landing that first date. Women may say (and honestly I might add) that things like personality, humor, values, and career matter way more than height, but if you don't already know the woman you're asking out, she'll accept or reject your offer based primarily on superficial features (like men do as well), with one of the main ones being height. Men may reject women based on their weight, and it's also a superficial thing, but unlike height, a person's weight does say something about them. You can be bigger and still be healthy; that's not what I'm talking about. But when someone is obese beyond the natural range for a healthy female, that's when it starts to become an issue and is an indicator of other undesirable traits she may have. However, height is something we as humans can't control, so if you're going to judge a person when deciding to accept a first date with them, please go off of other features that tell you something about the person, such as personal hygiene, how they carry themselves (if meeting in person and not on an app) or whether they fall inside a healthy weight and build for their stature and body type. Thanks for coming to my TED talk, haha

I had a classmate in college (we knew of each other in high school) who said she would only date guys 6ft. or higher, even though she was 5 foot herself, because she didn't want "short sons." TWENTY FIVE years later I ran into her and her family at the mall. She was there with her twin 16 year old daughters, who looked to be about 5'4." Her husband looked to be 6'2." Then I hear "Mom" and see a guy coming around the aisle. It was her son, maybe 20, who was about 5'2," the daughters were definitely taller. Seeing him brought the "short son" memory immediately to mind; and worse, I got the sense my former classmate knew exactly what I was thinking. We both made pleasantries and exchanged business cards, but I never heard from her, and honestly I had no reason to contact her. Life is stranger than fiction.

I hope you just bounced that experience, I'm your height exactly and I've had a lifetime of great dating with the hottest women I encountered in real life. I know a lot of women did rule me out over height, but I can't remember any of them because I was too busy having fun with girls who liked me. I had one fling with a super voluptuous young woman five inches taller than me, she was married to a 6'2 handsome guy who made a ton of money selling pharmaceuticals. She openly f..ked with me about my height (she would say "okay, but you're short!" whenever I jabbed at her when we were joking around), but her face and actions told me she was attracted, and I took full advantage ignoring the short comments, I considered them "sh..t tests", and I enjoyed her body quite a few times by not taking her comments seriously, she would even come over to my place whenever she was free. I simped for a straight 10 I was attracted to when I was young (twenties) and she was always insulting me about my height, but I slept with her regularly for almost two years (she was a bi..tch, but I was young and infatuated so f..k it, lol). I just think most women who say these things are just testing your resilience and being brats, so I don't take it seriously. Don't worry, I only dated women who didn't have any height issues when it came to real ltr's, and the woman I had my kids with never had the slightest issue with my height, even though the guy I took her away from was 6'4. It's all compatability of personalities if you ask me. I actually think women who vocalize the height stuff are funny to listen to, they don't even know what they want like most women, haha.

First, many thanks for posting this video Courtney and especially thanks to all your interviewees for their honesty. I'm sure it wasn't always what we guys wanted to hear from them but the truth is always better even if it's a hard pill to swallow. This is by far THE number one insecurity that eats away at we men. Worse, our height is controlled by genetics over which we obviously had absolutely no say and is nothing we can do anything about. You can always diet and work out to lose weight, but you can't gain height no matter what you do. (In fact, my family doctor told me men will actually lose 1 or 2 inches of height as we get older.) One of your interviewees nailed it on the head, we have been force-fed our entire lives by the media on what mating ideals should be and that informs our agendas and criterias of what our mates should be. Never mind that they are crushing to both men and women due to the impossibility of living up to them by both sexes. It really comes down to how open-minded the individual is in front of you. There's nothing wrong with having an agenda or certain criteria as the woman who was considering the genetic effect on her children demonstrates. What's wrong is being dishonest with yourself and others about it. What it all comes down to for me is that if the woman across me isn't open-minded because she has criteria that she absolutely needs met and she will not bend on it, then it's best we both move on. Obviously that hurts in the short run which I can attest to from experience, but in the long run it's far better for both parties. All I can tell everyone is that I've seen some women get those criteria met and wound up in successful relationships and marriages and I've seen others get them met and still wind up absolutely miserable. Life is a total crapshoot. Whether your criteria are met or not, there are never any guarantees. Good luck to all of you out there.

Like with your latest "would you rather", a 5'5" guy is still taller than a few of the girls, so there's no difficulty in the choice. For those I think it should be "a guy 2 inches shorter but..." and "a guy 2 inches taller, but..." and so on.

This was a fun video to watch. The women were pragmatic about height - not really as "cold" as often perceived by some men on the blogsphere. As I stated on an earlier comment which has now been read a lot, my size and ethnicity/complexion actually scare some (not all) women. I am about 6'1", brown-complected (Apache) and 220 and athletic - about the size of a college outside linebacker. I go to the gym or go jog/hike regularly. But I have experienced many situations where women are clearly afraid of my size and enthnicity. It "almost" seems like they would be more accepting if I were short and much lighter-skinned. With that said, I have also experienced many counter examples. I remember one woman who really liked me was from FSU - a very petitie aerobics instructor. She came up to me while I was riding the exercise bike. Another blonde woman from a local college, a petite cross country runner, often talked to me in a STEM class in an anatomy lab. A third scenario was a young woman hiking in the dark up a fierce mountain trail in Central Phoenix with very jagged rocks, slopes, cliffs, cacti, etc. She saw me near the summit and actually said hello joyfully. There was also a southern sorority woman in my MPH program at FSU who was the nicest to me in the class. When I first saw her with her Greek letters I honestly thought she was going to be racist and avoided her. But I was wrong in her case. It's just really bizarre how the extremes can vary in my case - fear at the sight of the "big Injun" or nonchalant acceptance and casual interaction. It just shows the world has individuals without specific over-general patterns many times. As for guys below average height, it doesn't always seem like it holds them back. In the media, Dudley Moore was known as an extreme womanizer back in the 70s and 80s, and I recall he had girlfriends who were much taller than him. In regular life, I have seen many guys like that since HS, college, etc. Height isn't always an impediment in my opinion. But on many internet blogs, YT channels, comments, etc. there are many guys who post about height issues. One guy who sees himself as "Sub 5" posted about being pushed aside at 6'2" and bald when a 6'6" "Chad" showed up in a Euro night club. So, it does happen but I wouldn't say it's absolute. When I was in graduate school in the 90s, I was much heavier (obese) by about 50 lbs and broke. A girl from that college actually chose me over a 6'5" basketball player who was a starter on the varsity and played on an NCAA championship team. He later went to the NBA and made millions. But that girl did reject his pursuits and actually went after me - aggressively to the point I just quit going to that gym - lol. She was a fitness fanatic an always wore an exercise bra and tight pants - kind of like a 90s college version of JLo. Go figure. It's like that Peter Wolf song from long ago - "Love stinks!" At the time, I had actually been recently rejected by a Catholic woman I preferred from my undergraduate college. Wolf's lyrics go as "You love her, she loves somebody else, and he does too..." It was so real.

GREAT VIDEO ! As an 5' 6" man I struggle with these insecurity on a daily bases. And I have been shut down many times in the most disrespectful way by this. However, with my 36 years of experience and my 4 relationships, 3 have been taller than me. And honestly, I have never felt that insecurity when I have been with them. I dont discriminate height in woman at all, but I do find attractive tall woman. Being short also leads to heavy bullying By men & woman which leads to trama & depression. Truth is it all comes down to character! A man with charm & character can overcomes any insecurities, and with all my ex's I support them with high heals as they come out in there most impowering feminine & sensual way. As egotistic as it sounds,...There no better felling for a short man to present a tall empowered feminine female to friends and family. The struggle is real for short men, but keeping your head up, strong character & charm goes much high. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽God bless !!!

women say they want a tall guy because they say it makes them feel protected. Bruce Lee was 5'8". Chuck Norris is 5'9". Most MMA fighters, except at the highest weight class, are under 6ft. So, they wouldn't be able to protect them? Height has no bearing on fighting ability or the ability to protect you. Audie Murphy, the MOH winner and highest decorated soldier of WWII was only 5'5".

Courtney -love your work. Especially in this format. Nicole’s description of herself gives off a very masculine vibe that would turn off most men that I know. She would require a. Super/hyper masculine guy -bigger in wallet$, stature, and status in order to partner up effectively. So few of those guys are available and the few that exist want feminine women. So the odds are slim for her to ever find the right guy. Even if she settles and lowers that standards- like some ladies do- her satisfaction will be short lived. She may even check off the “married” box. But it will soon be followed by divorce. You can only fake it for so long. Most of the other ladies are more realistic in their views and have a chance to find Mr right. Marla’s limited exposure to guys outside of her own circle will make her journey harder. But at least she is more hard wired feminine than masculine. Unfortunately - Nicole is hardwired more masculine. Hopefully these are your friends and you are coaching them effectively. They are all lovely ladies in their own way. As are you. Thanks for all you do. Respect! Ken

Good topic; goes right to the heart of my biggest insecurity. I definitely felt inadequate and that my dating pool was drastically reduced through no fault of my own, and more so as I got older. When I was growing up. I was good friends with several on the state champion gitls basketball team, including a 6"3" star. But we lived in a an area with a high percentage of mexicans and native americans, so weirdly enough 5'5" was closer to average. But the older I became (and the older women around me became), the more that height became a bigger issue for them, and therefore for me. I distinctly remember in college how there was a very sweet couple, where she was much taller than he was. They were so confident that I was a bit envious. I abhorre that I let society's norms erode my confidence and accentuate my own insecurity about height. I moved to Cleveland last year, and this height thing became much more acute again even though I've been married for 16 years. It's like these women said, there are very few men in Cleveland who are shorter than me. When I see nen shorter than me, I immediately feel the kinship. Naybe we should start a FB support group for us 😂. I have asked my wife not to wear heels, which I am ashamed of. I was recently in a supermarket here in Cleveland and had to ask a taller woman to reach for something on a high shelf. She was surprised and a bit embarrassed, which in turn made me feel bad for asking, even though it's my initial confidence that allowed me to ask in the first place. I think it's probably worse issue for men than flat breasts for women. At least breasts can be hidden and de-emphased or altered. At least some men actually have a preference for small boobs. Because of stastics, what we see in the workplace (taller men seem to get promoted because shorter is not perceived by other men as an asset in many wotkplace environments, and honestly I'm not sure that would chsnge if women were in charge) and Hollywood's tendency to accentuate those norms, very few women will ever have a preference for shorter men, or even men the same height.

Being short as a man is a huge disadvantage. Women see a man stronger physically and emotionally when he is taller, which is not true. I'm short and I've gotten bullied by them and I stood up to them and they backed off. They only act tough. Size doesn't have to do with intimation. It psychological. Plus, when a woman is short she can wear high heels to cheat her height. Also you better being tall and a bit on the heavy side. At least you can lose that weight than being really skinny and short.

I only worry about things that I can change and don't give a second thought to things I can't. So if a woman does not want t go out with me because i'm only 5'6'' so be it. So when she eventually hits the proverbial Post Wall and wondering what happened, take a moment and check the choices you have made that led you to where you now find yourself.

I'm 6'2" and I've dated a couple of girls taller than me. I literally didn't give a damn about their height, they couldn't go a day without making a comment about it. It literally took me grabbing them by the face, making them look at me, and telling them that their height means nothing to me for them to stop... and even then, I was the asshole for being "too aggressive" about it despite me reassuring them CONSTANTLY to those points. I've also seen guy friends of mine that are on the shorter side struggle, and the one thing I can say that girls fail to understand is how tough it is for a guy to "have confidence" when he's constantly beaten down for something he can't help. From my perspective, girls make the whole situation a lot more troublesome than it needs to be, mainly because they're the ones who make it such a factor in the first place. If a guy cares about height, it's almost certainly because he's had multiple situations come up where he wasn't given a chance or got passed over solely because of his stature. A girl caring about height though... it's so commonplace practically nobody bats an eye even if the way they go about it is damaging. Definitely one of those things where women could stand to do better.

i am quite short. especially before we had a large influx of hispanic and oriental people. so when i was just starting college, i did a little experiment for a full summer. i would stop by taller girls on the beach, and ask them if i could chat with them for a bit. because i was always polite and never presumptive, i dont think i ever got turned down. by presumptive, i mean lots of guys would start to sit down, and then ask if it was okay (a big no-no). before i left i would always leave them with a question, phrased something like the following. "i probably will never see you again, so please give me an honest answer. would you be interested in going out with someone of my height". i was truly interested in their real feelings. what i found out is that the girl did not really care. what she did care about is what other people would say or think. like "you couldnt find someone that was as tall as you, etc." once i realized the real situation, i never concerned myself with it again. if a nice question was asked, i would simply say there was more to admire. few people would ever consider being snarky about it. but if any guy ever was, i was always prepared with "some guys got it, some guys dont". luckily, i never had to use it.

And you should probably know that roughly 85% of you girls are going to have to settle for a guy under 6ft because you don't wanna get to your late 20's thinking "Why can I not find a tall handsome guy?" It's like boob/ass size for guys, but we know there aren't 75%+ women out there with perfect big boobs/asses, and we don't have the same insecurities about ourselves in those features, so it's easier for men to not think about it at all when choosing a partner.

I'm going to be honest and say that although i wouldn't mind dating a girl taller than me i would prefere she isnt(for me the best would be if she is 1inch shorter or the same height as me 5"10"). I believe that there’s more to dating than looks, and someone who needs their partner to be more than just adequate looking to them isn’t someone I want. I've watched almost every one of these videos when they first come up. I commented before say that I was used by women a lot. And it's just a lot of work and women don't really like men for the way they are. At least in my experience. Unfortunately I know a lot of guys with the same experiences. These are all of high-value men like myself. High-value meaning they have jobs they have homes. I don't drink or do drugs and they operate with dignity and respect. In their professional life and their personal life. The older you get the more you know you have less time. And the object is in life is to be loved and accepted. I don't hate women or down on women but I have learned it take an awful lot of work. Watching all these videos communicating all of this big journey for an actual mate. It's more work than fun. In my experience modern women in general has made relationships / dating scene or what not much more complicating then it should be. As I said the object is just to be loved and accepted. I have learned a man having a boyfriend or any type of relationship with a man is much much more easier. You have less time as you get older And a lot of people don't want to grow old alone. And they definitely don't want to argue and fight. That would be just mentally exhausting. If it takes changing yourself in any way. Lots of videos with lots of work and all of this drama. To be loved and accepted. You just got to analyze your life. You got to ask yourself or you willing to be somebody that you're not ? Just to have a woman that likes you for somebody that you were pretending to be Just to be with her. Or are you willing to just be yourself and have somebody love you the way you are. Here's a side note ; I work seven days a week I have two jobs. Willingly not because I need the money. Cuz I don't like to be alone. I have a lot of co-workers that are men & women at both jobs that are single with the same subject. The dating scene and the student loan situation in America are both broken systems that will never be fixed. " Mankind has ruined this planet. I hope someday to live on Mars. "

I've met a few women who were barely 5ft and they look at me like I'm a freak of nature because of my size compared to them and it's kind of uncomfortable to me. Those same short women who make that demand for a guy to be over 6ft is laughable. Go find a guy closer to your eye level.

@@CourtneyRyan grew up only male with 5 sisters. What he's saying it's right. Women answer questions based on what they think others want to hear, not the truth.

As a 5'7 guy in a country with quite tall men and women, it is a bit of a challenge. From my experience, it's also a bit about the attitude and vibe you're sending off. 2 of the girls I dated who were around 5'8 or 5'9 told me that they would not have INITIALLY chosen me. I think it's a lot about how we make her feel. Height matters to a lot of women, but there are also those who don't care that much. We just see more of the bad women in social media.

Women love to spout off how tall their man is. I remember a neighbor who was in her late 50s spouting off about how tall her new boyfriend was. He was fresh out of prison and also in his late 50s. She would brag how he "once was 6'2" but now had lowered to 6' because of his prison hardships... 🤡

If a female tells you that you would not have been picked by then initially, go for another girl bro. You should only want a female who sees you as their top option or they will inevitably leave for the bad boy/Chad they sexually desire, or end up cheating

I can understand if it's a preference, but what I cannot understand is when the man you are dating checks off all the other boxes like he has a good job, he's responsible, decent looking, hard working, doesn't cheat, and you have women that will still throw all that away for a taller man. That's incredibly shallow and nonsensical. I think our society's definition of short men is incredibly warped. On a global scale, the average height of men is around 5 feet 9 inches, while the average height of women is around 5 feet 4 inches. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the average age-adjusted height for American men 20 years old and up is 69.1 inches during the years 2015 to 2016. That’s about 5 feet 9 inches tall. This means that roughly men who are 5'7ft and below can be considered short if we are being fair. Despite whatever height preference you may have calling a man short for being 5'8ft to 5'11ft is just wrong and says a lot about you as a person. It sounds like more of a fetish than a preference if you ask me. I'd also like to add that some women still choose to date horrible men even though there are pretty of good tall men waiting around the corner because they don't have "swag" or are deemed "corny". Those statistics are the same regarding money and penis size, society is changing factually accurate data and instead relying on personal preference and I think the worse thing is people condoning this terrible behavior. Women get on code all the time when men have a preference about behavior, weight, and sex. It's time for men to start getting on code and stop allowing overly vain and superficial women to get away with this type of behavior. Call them out when you hear them, stand up for your short brothers in return they will stand up for you. I want to clarify that not all women think this way and there are plenty of women that don't act like extremists regarding height. Find those women. Men like women that like them.

Stunning how they always got to chose. How about making a video of them explaining to us guys what they bring to the table besides average looks and fading youth?

Yeah, I get the video for the sake of it being a valid topic, but I'd like to see these women stand by their men when the need arises. If they do, they walk the talk, and if not, they just fall into the same shallow category.
