"men are more attractive in person because they aren't that good at taking pics and their profile sucks". As a man, I can say it's the EXACT OPPOSITE with women. I have probably been on like 50 dates in the last 4 years and maybe 1 was as good as their profile claimed. Both looks wise and personality wise. These women are Houdini's with the makeup and BS.

It's a messed up world. We've got "body positivity" trying to tell us that being overweight is attractive and, at the same time, unrealistic expectations on height.
@Gustavog74

When people say “Body positivity” that sounds sooooo stupid. Your either physically attractive or not. It’s that simple.
@bobbwc7011
@bobbwc7011 Жыл бұрын
@@Gustavog74 That is actually grossly incorrect and very retarded. Attractiveness is - as many studies have shown - a Gaussian distribution. Most people are between 4 and 6, and to the sides it dies off quickly. The nuke which got dropped more than 10 years ago by OK Cupid was that women DO NOT agree with the Gaussian. Men on the other hand seem to stick to the bell curve; they find women attractive by a Gaussian in real life and they find women attractive by a Gaussian on online dating maps. But on the female side a 6 (=above average) does not want just an above average man, she wants a very very attractive man, between 8 to 10. By now so much more statistical data has been published that saying "guys need to take better picture" is a farce; it may contribute a little bit, overall however, all scientific data points that women reject the notion that they are supposed to date according to their own attractiveness. This warping effect which creates this insane 80/20 situation for the men is solidly verified. Other dating portals have published data similar to OK Cupid, scientific research has been conducted and so on. So no, you are not "attractive" or "not attractive", it is a gradual very realistic scale which follows a Gaussian curve. Evolutionary biology and behaviorial fields agree with that. It's also not true that only attractiveness is important or that large penises are preferred. If that was true, today, after thousands of generations of selection, the planet would be only populated with Scarlett Johanssons, pornstar dicks and guys who are 190cm or taller. The opposite is true. Mankind is genetically still very averaged, very robust and does not trend to any specific genetic disposition related to modern "neurotic disorders". In the long run it evens out because females have no control over their genes. Many of these unrealistic women will have very sad children; imagine being a really tall attractive woman, 175cm and so on, who harshly rejects guys below 8 and has all kinds of expectations...and then your own son turns out to be 174cm with a tendency to be overweight, and not above average in attractiveness. Many properties of humans are inherited from genes of both parents, and because of mechanisms like the dominant-recessive combinations there is indeed a big randomness. For example, latest genetic analyses indicate that the height of men and the penis length of men is decided by the genetic information on the mother side. The father seems to create a certain disposition but it is the complementary maternal genes deciding on how those "masculine" features will be determined. Interesting huh. We are not dealing with a biological problem in terms of this out of whack dating situation, it is a social problem created by the women themselves. The question is how and when will it go away before it destroys our modern way of life. Rejecting 80% of men and an increasing number of long term sexless singles means: the end of democracy. Lonely men become angry, angry longely men become violent, violent angry lonely men vote for rightwing and far right parties, rightwing and far right parties reduce important compensating mechanisms like the social welfare state, equal opportunity, civil rights and individual freedoms, and at a certain point they overthrow democracy and install authoritarian fascist dictatorships. On the other side lonely men become extremely expensive due to exorbitant cost for healthcare.

More than that, "body positivity" deviated far from what it should have been, from celebrating all body types and discouraging shaming, to outright shaming naturally fit people for "encouraging toxic beauty standards". Also, apparently, people who are big on "body positivity" often have no problems shaming men for having the same kinds of bodies that they would celebrate on women. That is not positivity to me, that's simply hypocrisy.

Lmao. So true. Laughable stuff. The fact that they can sit here and say something like that so brazenly on camera is baffling - remember, this is what they're saying when they know they're being recorded so are gonna be mindful about saying what "sounds socially acceptable". Wtf do they say behind closed doors to their friends, or think inside their heads? I honestly can't imagine saying something like that about women if I were to be on an interview video like this, and I say that as a guy who in many aspects is above average. It's baffling how many young people define other humans as a number out of 10, or view them as just a set of characteristics to be used for their own benefits/pleasure. What about romance, connection, chemistry, mutual trust and respect, and love? None of these women ever allude to that being of importance to them in any of these videos, and it's really worrying, because that's how meaningful relationships are forged - whether its with a partner or a friend. I fear that alot of people in their 20s and teens rn are gonna be alone for a long, long time unless they do some serious self-reflection and adjustment.

It's simple. Women think if they just hold out long enough they will find their tall faithful, caring 10/10 guy, with money and a great personality. No. Ladies need to prioritize what they want and be realistic about if they can get it. Being honest, drop the “hot girl” fantasy. That's done. That's just as delusional as the average woman holding out for a 6ft, handsome, multimillionaire, entrepreneur with a great personality, who treats her like gold and accepts all of her flaws. Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely? No. You can however find a woman you're attracted to who is more on your level. In my opinion, as a shorter guy you need to be prefiltering for them to save yourself time. For example, don't even waste your time on a woman taller than 5’3, who is in better physical shape than yourself, who you don't outearn by at minimum 50-60%, who dresses better than yourself, etc. If you do many of these women will waste your time and money because they know you want them.

I definitely agree that social media has made dating very shallow and superficial. To counter this in order to find a good mate we have to become blind to beauty both for boys and girls. All I can say is don't judge a book by it's cover and that is even more true in dating. Also let's face it, guys are not blessed with good looks, women are blessed with good looks. Most men are average or below average in looks and most women are above average. After few months those looks are no longer going to be intoxicating but that is the general progression of a relationship. I admire that these women take the heat in the comments and still show up, that is courageous. Ladies don't be quick to dismiss guys based on some minor thing, give them a chance, look beyond the initial awkwardness, I assure you will find some gems and great guys who will love to be with you.

@@GT6SuzukaTimeTrials yes that is definitely true. Women have a endless stream of options and they have become extremely picky. Example is the lady who said if he wears brown belt with black shoes she will not be interested. Should this really a deal breaker, can he not improve his fashion sense. So you are going to reject a great guy cause he can't match colors. The issue is women think they have time, the endless stream of options will always be there coz they are sleeping options. But once you hit 30 it's going to become even more difficult to find relationship options. Both guys and girls whats wrong with finding someone who is good enough. A greta relationship is not formed by finding the perfect partner, that is a illusion. A great relationship is 2 people working towards making that relationship great, putting in the effort to build a awesome relationship. No matter how perfect that person is when there are 2 people there will always be issues. Resolving your issues through communication is what builds intimacy and companionship love. This reinforces to me why I'm glad I've never touched a dating app and never will. You've always got the app to fall back to and "try again" with hundreds of other candidates, so there's no incentive to care. It sounds like hell. Dating apps are the perfect gathering place for people desperate for attention, unable to commit, and don't have confidence in their personalities. This isn't to say *everyone* on dating apps falls into this, but that "dud" phenomenon is universal.

Your face is your personality. Your height is your confidence. The end. 1st world countries are pretty safe, and their women have their own money. So men are not needed for protection and provisioning. So what's left for a woman to find attractive in a man? Simple looks and height. The reason why women are complaining about men is because they have allowed a small number of Chad's in their city to sleep with them all.

Slight correction there. Hookups are easy for women. Not for men. Relationships are easy for men over 30 provided we're willing to fall into that foolish beta male provider role for some woman who's already had her fun and now looking for some sucker. Relationships are only hard for women today because their "modern woman" vibes are unknowingly a turn-off to men.

On dating apps definitely true, because those apps are meant to be based on looks because it sells the illusion that you’re shopping for a your perfect type which keeps you scrolling. It’s not natural which is why meeting in person is more impactful because just approaching a woman shows a higher level of confidence than portrayed through pictures. That and she actually gets to hear you open your mouth and have an accurate judgment of how charismatic or funny you are.

It's more because makeup really covers up a lot of women's flaws to where they can look like 7 or 8 instantly. Whereas for men, much of what is considered attractive often takes time and effort (eg workout either for weight loss and muscle building) and things out of their control (height). If you really take off all of the add-ons, most women without makeup look just as average, if not more, than their male counterparts.

Fear of Better Options is most certainly a thing. Women moving in on the top 20% of men exhibits this, but what those women don't take into account is that 20% of men also have FOBO. What happens with FOBO, for men and women who have it in dating, is like channel surfing with 10,000 channels. There's "nothing" and "everything" to watch at the same time. But since you can't choose, there is for all intents and purposes, "nothing". "There are no 'good' men." and "Where have they gone?" is the end product of the choice paradox.

Women on dating apps simply aren't gonna waste their time with guys who are mediocre. It's at least good to know that women tend to be way harsher on dating apps than in real life. I guess it shows that dating apps may not be the best option for me. I just get sad about being single and lonely especially with the holidays coming around. It was still good to hear these experiences from these women.

It's a sad world where a decent normal average guy is considered "mediocre". and the vast majority of what these women want are over 6ft perfect massively endowed girth "alpha chad" heroes who treat them like dirt to keep them keen and chasing. No wonder women and feminists go to such an effort to try alter the PR of women, although with the internet its now unavoidable how shallow, vain, entitled, superficial your average modern women is and how little they value average men, literally viewing them as dispensible, worthless infact. Well until you hit your 40s and they get desperate of course, with all the hunky chads are now settled off with the prettiest women and don't need to pump and dump these average women every weekend. Well behind their wives back occasionally of course lol. I give up. On this penis size, height shaming obsessed culture.

Throw away your phone. go to nightclubs or bars or pubs where there is music and people hang out, start talking to random women, develop social skills. It will take time, but you will get it down and you will meet some women to date. If someone is uniterested, just move onto another and try again. Just realise you won't become good at meeting people instantly and don't get discouraged and give up.

I saw a video where they had a really good looking guy (he looked like a model but they claim he was not one) go on a dating app compared with a "average" guy and he reported what happened . The good looking had about ten times the initial responses (likes and matches) from women than the "average guy" did, and about three times as much luck with getting texts, conversations and getting a number. But weirdly, the good looking guy went on the exact same amount of dates as the average guy. When they dove into it, the reason why was the good looking guy actually was flaking or lost interest in the women at each stage because he had options in real life so would stop pursuing the online women he was only so-so about a little more at each stage. Like ghost after an initial conversation, get a number and then never call, or would call or text a few times and just would lose interest and never pursued a date. So in the end the good looking guy only went out on a couple "dates" with women who managed to keep his interest all the way through the stages of internet dating, which was the exact same number the average guy got, but the difference was he had to pursue the dates he got the whole way to completion. Food for thought.

Like Gab said, men don’t have as many pictures of ourselves in general to capture our personality and vibrance. Almost every time you see a group of women out to brunch, in nature, etc they take 100’s of pictures. When us guys go out we are lucky if we take 1 or 2. Most likely it’s going to be a group photo and no one even checks if it’s good or not til later.

Courtney, one of the things that I like most about your posts is that you take into account sociobilological influences into account. One of your posts was about how ultra-successful women want even more successful men. I worked on Wall Street for many years with gorgeous high-fliers. These women, who turned up their noses at even slightly lesser status men, are reaching retirement age alone, because men who were more successful than them married trophy bimbos. My late wife had cancer, and I was her carer. For two years, whenever I took her for her chemotherapy, there would be thirty to forty women patients in the waiting room, a sprinkling of careers and daughters, but only two men in the room, another husband and me.. I don't if the other women were widows, divorcees or never married, but the vast majority of them were facing chemo alone. To be a woman in your 20s and 30s with your pick of hundreds of men and the world at your feet is amazing. To be in your 60s facing chemo alone, meh, not so much. There must be a biological/psychological reasons why women don't realize that one day, they are going to become a glut on the market, and the time to reconsider whether their pickiness is counterproductive is not in their 60s but in their 20s and 30s. I'm sure you'll be able to elucidate more about this phenomenon Ps. Also loved your post about the rules of attraction are not the rules long-term relationships.

It only evens out if you are a tall guy who is massively endowed, that is the real reason these women "settle" for these tall but less handsome men But trust me these things work both ways, if you are tall and not massively endowed or even just average expect the vast majority of these shallow pathetic vile body shaming women to immediately laugh in your face, tell you that you don't match up to mr massively endowed girth alpha Tyrone that they hooked up with last night and go instantly running back to their friends to publically humiliate your body. So being tall is essentially pointless if you aren't also massively endowed and because average doesn't look proportional on a very tall guy, you actually need to be massively endowed or these women will destroy you. Sad world eh? yet these women are outraged about the unobtainable beauty standards of Hollywood hahahaha as they penis size shame and humiliate men to mental illness.

I've been very straightforward with women on dating apps, asking questions they didn't think I'd ask because I'm not trying to impress women. What I've found is that they expect men to be their personal clowns, "make me laugh," meanwhile, she's so overly average and basic in the things she says that it hurts. And the ones who think they're original come off as taking themselves WAY too seriously. Guys, your problem is that you're giving women attention. They don't care about men now (most of them), so giving them attention simply gives them the validation they crave. Ask some straightforward questions, gents. Make them earn you.

I gave up on dating apps too. I did OKAY like during Covid when literally everyone was on there, but nothing truly substantial came out of it. Dating apps give both men and women what’s called the ‘paradox of choice’…you have so many options to pick from that you end up not picking ANY of them …and the ratio of men to women on dating apps is comparable to that of the population of Alaska 😬😂

Brutal Blackpill story time: At my former favorite bar, I was speaking to the barmaid about me finding weekend work to earn more cash...I said that I just left Giant Eagle Grocers and filled out an application, so I also said that I was considering even applying for work at this very bar for weekend work, and upon hearing this, the barmaid had "that" look of disgust on her face (scrunched nose like she just smelled the worst fart ever). There is a discernible difference between someone saying “this person is attractive but just isn’t for me” and “this person is just flat out unattractive.” The way I took the study was women found 80% of men just flat out unattractive. You have to subject it to a multivariate analysis. A lot of good looking men won’t need or want to use a dating app. There is a higher proportion of men than women on dating apps and that could drive the “average” looks of the men on there down. Women factor in other things in person relating to attractiveness; i.e. clothes, cars, accessories, confidence, body language, and it’s hard to express any of that on dating apps when it’s just a few photos. I don’t think the study is wrong per se, but I think it’s skewed to not factor in other variables.
