Labour was behind in the polls until partygate. That, combined with the Truss budget, absolutely tanked the Conservative Party. Starmer was just in the right place in the right time, the victory wasn’t because people felt inspired by him.

The Labour Party first started to poll better in December of 2020. Their popularity was on the up throughout the year at that point. The positive trend happened before partygate broke. The big problem with the LP up to that point was the candidate as the party consistently polled on an equal footing to the conservatives.

The nature of FPTP means that someone like corbyn with a larger voterbase can lose whilst Starmer can win with less votes. Its the grim reality we live in (which is why we should all support any group pushing for electoral reform)

We're shouting at people because nobody listens to us. Just look at the state of the country and Keir speaks with two mouths, saying we won't have austerity but immediately engaging in policies that look an awful lot like austerity. My mum met him once, she's a 70 year old lady who works as a cleaner at a charity. She told me that he was cold and condescending, he looks down his nose at people as he floated around the building. I trust what my mum says. Keir does not have the interests of the people of this country at heart, if he even has a heart.

How sad that these people have never faced adversity, never wanted for anything, never had to strive for anything because those who went before delivered it all to them during years of struggle. They have become part and parcel of the elite, the entitled and the coveted from the day to day reality most of the working class face. They are unable to relate to what Labour and the Unions stood/stand for and have learned the rhetoric without any of the hardship or experience. The Labour Party is deceased, been killed in fact, by grinning heads and yapping mouths banging a drum without resonance. "They've taken us into government.", after spouting the nonsense about Corbyn, but can't see that's because the electorate wanted rid of the Tories. Unfortunately these people ARE the Tories but don't know it.

It's disappointing how often people get away with using (non specific) anti-Semitism as a weapon. Whereas 'not anti-Semitic' is still not so readily accepted. I wonder how many would be able to flesh out their claims. It's too late now but, with hindsight and some proper investigative journalism, a great deal of the 'anti-Semitism crisis' is looking to have been heavily manufactured. Convenient for protecting the status quo.

Listening to these youngsters sing their praises of Starmer is nauseating. He's changed the Labour Party they say into something good. If only they'd open their eyes, they might see that he's turned it into an acceptable version of the Tories when cameroon led them, he's moved the party so far right of centre that it is now Labour in name only. The party has been ruthlessly taken over by visionless technocrats who, by expelling anyone with a bright idea, are killing the party. The membership is seen as a problem, whereas big business is, to them a solution.

Corbyn is boring, starmer is boring, the difference is that Corbyn wanted to help the people with less, progressive policies, eco-friendly policies, inclusive policies, boring, but radical, and popular. Starmer is boring, uncharismatic, and the policies aren't going to help the people with less. Both the elections which Labour under Corbyn lost, he had more votes than allowed Labour under starmer to win with such a majority. There was one big stinking reason why Labour lost after 9 years of miserable cons Government. Brexit.
