Thank you so much! What a clear and helpful video. We have worked out that it is the heating element and we will attempt to change it ourselves. How kind to provide such a service to the community!

Thank you so much. You have made a big problem so easy to solve. I followed your guidance and fixed my washing machine which was tripping the electricity in my house. I changed the heater and sensor. It is great, working as new! You saved me from purchasing a new one. 😀

Absolute legend! Our bosch machine was tripping the power straight away, didnt think the heating element would do that until it started heating but £23 for a genuine new one, fitted and perfect! thank you for this superb video.

to get the element lose you have to pop a blow with little hammer on the middle screw.

Thanks for the video. My Bosch machine tripped my circuit breaker so I replaced the heating element and tried to use the machine again. This time the water did seem to get warm, suggesting the new heating element is functioning, but the machine got part way through the wash cycle before tripping the circuit breaker again. I also found that the fuse in the plug had blown. I replaced the fuse but now the machine won't switch on at all. I know the plug fuse is OK, as is the wall socket. So now I don't know what's wrong with the machine. Any suggestions please?

Run a extension lead from a different socket in the house,plug the machine in to see.

Great video. I have a question- my 2 year old Bosch washing machine trips the RCD intermittently, sometimes mid wash and sometimes just as soon as I open the door before I even start a cycle (just opening the door can do it, no buttons pressed). However a sometimes I can run several washes without it tripping at all. I realise it would need proper test, but can you say which failing component would normally cause that kind of behaviour?

Is it less than 2 years old? might be able to get it fixed under warranty still.

I just fixed similar issue on my bosh series 4, it was door seal leaking and shorting one of heater contacts to the ground. Because the leak is too small it happens randomly, more often when a lot of foam produced. Cleaned contacts and replaced seal, problem gone.

Such a great video. My unit is not wetting loads enough. I have replaced the water inlet sensor as i great unit was beeping with tap logo illuminated on filling. And sometimes error E:18 high lighted. It hasn't made a difference . Expert repairer couldn't find anything. I'm at a dead-end.

Hi Mr. Washy Washy. I hope you can help me. Mine is an Ariston that have tripping problem. When I plug it in its socket in the bathroom it trips the breaker. But when I plug it in other sockets using an extension in the bedroom or kitchen it works well. What could be the problem. Thanks. P.S. when I use other appliances in the socket of my bathroom where the washing machine they work well. Thanks again.

I’ve gone through the process you’ve shown and it doesn’t seem to be my drum or the heating element. It trips the RCD every time I switch the machine on with the door closed. What else could it be please?

I noticed my Maytag keep burning fuse. Do you think this is the cause?
@sleddy12345 Жыл бұрын
I have a Bosch Exxcel 8 which trips the fuse box. Under each cycle I have the option to reduce the temperature to zero and once I do this it stops tripping. The drum motion seems normal. Would it be safe to assume that the heating element must be the cause ? thank you in anticipation

Hello I have a question: After i changed my heating element, like you did, it "popped" out after a couple of wash cycles. I suspect that i tightened it too much, could that be the case?

The "rinse and spin" cycle doesn't heat the water. So if the machine can run a "rinse and spin" without tripping - that means the heating element is very likely the problem, assuming the drum rotates nicely and the element isn't catching on the drum ???? Is that correct?
@billtarpy2 жыл бұрын
Of course, if the above is true, and it continues to trip , it also means taht heating element is not the problem and you need to look elsewhere........

I have the same power tripping problem with a 2 years old Bosh Vario-perfect. I measured the 3-phase motor with a Megger insulation tester and also the heating element after warming up in a bottle. Both are OK. Then I changed the two mains filter capacitors (10 nF and 22 nF) on the driver board who were connected to ground by 400 Volts types. No result. The machine is working well with ground disconnected, but this is unsafe. Floating voltage measured with an multimeter, between machine housing and mains real ground is 90 -140 Volts, dependent on orientation of the plug and is able to light up a small incandescent lamp. That was the primary reason I suspected the two capacitors because they are the sole ground connections on the board ground (=housing too) All other power supply components on the board are OK. Any other idea? Thank You

Hi, my machine keeps tripping electricity, I’ve manually drained all water through the pipe at the bottom of the machine. Could you please advise how to unlock the door without turning the machine on ?
@Estoverax6 ай бұрын
You will probably have a black rubber tab at the front of the machine on the right, below the drum - pull the tab and the door will open 😊
