Tip My FDV909W Heat Pump LG Dryer wouldnt start. No LED display. No power shown whatsoever. After doing the following Checked power source was ok including plug fuse. Pressed start button in held for 20secs. No joy. Unplugged entire machine for 30mins then replugged it. No joy. Hooered the rear fan grill. Cleaned out the fluff filter ( which wasnt blocked or full anyway) I pressed various combinations of start/pause, and LED symbold even though LED was dead and dark. No joy. Still no power no lights no LED. Im now thinking this machine is dead and buried. Time to call the man out. Almost having given up......I opened the door one last time and almost out of instinct I manually rotated the drum half a turn. And would you believe it that Hey Presto....the internal drum light came on and then i noticed the LED display had come on mysteriously the machine was working once again. So manually turn the drum. It did something. It triggered something. Add this to your Tumbler fixing Hacks.

I have the same model, ran into clean exchanger error but my ok button doesnt work to bypass it. Power button, navigation dial is working fine but the rest nothing...so im stuck in this cleanexchanger notification. pcb problem?

Seems to me sir that rather than actually fixing anything, you have simply installed a part. By that standard, buying a new washing machine could be called a 'fix'. How about dismantling the faulty part and repairing the problem? Probably a bit of debris from the water supply sitting in the valve seat?

Hello! This has been so helpful, thank you. I checked the wires and couldn't see anything obviously loose. When you said to check the heating element, what did you mean? What should I be looking for? I could see a bit of rust on the lid inside, above where the heating element is, and underneath it, the black plastic has come away, maybe melted away? But I'm not sure what I should be looking for....do I just assume the heating element needs replacing if the code is still showing and the wires are intact? Thanks so much!

We own two of these washer dryers. The spin the drum test doesn’t make LCD display light up on both. No power up on pressing the on button. Noise filter is ok, as I’m getting 240 volts in and out. Resistor and fuse on main power control board checked out ok for continuity using a fluke meter. Any ideas?

I have a slightly different model Bosch Series 8 with Autoclean function (model: WTX87K40PL). Most steps were the same except for opening the box with condenser fins. I managed to pull part containing condenser fins into the shower cabin and wash most of lint out. Remaining dirt I have moved away with help of my son’s dentists waterpik - he does not know this :) It was the most challenging DIY work I ever did. It took me 4 h to take apart, 2 h to clean, 3 h to take all back, but the result ... - we have new dryer home 🙂 Mr Washy Washy you are a genius!

Too much detergent and/or fabric softener and washing blankets/doonas in there may indeed contribute to the spider arm disintegrating. But to be honest this is a very common problem with Samsung spider arms. It's like they're designed to fail.

This machine is a piece of crap. My parents bought a dryer -88 and it still works. No maintenance needed.

Have a new TWV780WP and like my previous T8861WP they dry king size down doonas no issue, as well as king size pillows, two at a time. They wash great and dry perfectly in the 9kg dryer. So they dry even if you load it well beyond half way up the drum. Just an FYI from a user.
