Having the word on the screen would have been helpful. I wanted to show my kids this video or at least fingerspell also but they may still not know the sign represents the word. But thanks for doing the video. adding the word caption might be benificial.

Hi! that was sloppy on my part...I hadn't put it on my list and didn't articulate well...I was muddling around with "presumption of innocence"...that you are presumed innocent until proven guilty etc... You are right..not guilty is the appropriate term vs. guilty. Thanks for comment as always! Have great weekend~!!!

Once again, LOVE your legal vlogs! :-) One thing: I'm not sure about signing "INNOCENT" instead of "NOT GUILTY" just because those two terms don't mean the same thing. A person can be found not guilty, but that doesn't make the person innocent. That's why courts don't declare people "innocent."

Lipreading to figure out what word you are signing. Very difficult. No fsp. No word. I'm guessing. Never seen that sign for Judge. Maybe it's Charge. Confuse.

An appeal is not a complaint. The sign should be "ask higher court" just fyi.

Hi Cutiekittee! Check out this version on the NCIEC Legal Dictionary website: www.interpretereducation.org/specialization/legal/terminology/ ;o) There are several ways to interpret "appeal"...Thanks for watching and commenting! SH

ASL Interpreter@S.Hansen yes I have seen it signed that way but I worked at the court house before becoming an Interpreter and an appeal is not a complaint. We had to explain this to many defendants. You are not filing a complaint but ur asking a higher court to review your case. Just thought i would put that out there cause its a misconception amoung a lot of people not familiar with the legal system. I also have a legal sign dictionary where it is signed "ask higher court " but thanks so much for that website! I love it! And I love your videos!!! ♡♡

actually, if you couldn't comprehend her, then that means it's not for YOU! People who can't comprehend this level without text, should not be using this level of vocabulary anyway. Thank you @SHansen! You help us professionals get better and better! CI/CT \\"/
