More information
No external FX or processing was applied in producing these video demos - you are hearing the sounds as they were played from the synth, using only internal Hydrasynth effects. However, be sure to listen through good quality speakers or headphones and you will hear the depth in the sounds. The Hydrasynth has a very wide audio frequency range and small phone or laptop speakers do not reproduce the full sound well!
A lot of time, creativity and care have gone into designing the sounds in this bank over several years. Each of them has a reason for being and a purpose. Working with the Hydrasynth developing and playing these patches has inspired more musical ideas and compositions than any other synth I own. That's probably the best compliment I can give - and I hope these sounds will do the same for you.
The sounds are designed to be musical and playable, and while many of them fill conventional needs, others push the boundaries of what a polysynth is capable of, for instance, using multiple modulations to create textures usually only obtained on modular synths. A real strength of the Hydrasynth is the wide range of timbres it can produce, and the bank reflects this with sounds from warm and smooth to edgy, strident and complex.
As a purely digital synth, the Hydrasynth has surprised in its ability to create warm and punchy sounds with vintage character, reminiscent of the virtual analog synths that were common in the late 1980s and early 1990s. A number of these sounds are included in this sound bank and they contrast well with the bright digital and FM patches.
A few FX patches are included in each bank, but I have limited the number of them as - apart from being sonically interesting - they are not useful for most musical situations. Noise patches are perhaps an exception, as there are so many different colours of noise to choose from in Hydrasynth; it really adds to the sonic palette.
For more extended performances of many of these sounds, see my ‘Colourful Sounds of Hydrasynth videos parts 1-3’ playlist:

If you are looking for specific sounds featured in those videos, do check the patch lists to ensure the sounds you want are included before buying. To avoid disappointment, purchase both sound banks ;-)
I really hope these patches inspire you to make more beautiful music.
