That was interesting. I completed a Boilermakers Union apprenticeship in England in 1980. I immigrated to Sacramento, Ca and joined the Sheet Metal Workers LU 162 for 20 years then we merged with LU 104 for a dozen more years.. I retired last year with 5 welding certs and 34 years in the industry, all Union. I enjoyed your video and do remember "walking the cup" on Tig welds many a time but mostly used E7018 on structural work in the80's and 90's then a lot of flux-core ,.045 with dual shield gas on structural parts too. I had D9.1 Stainless Steel overhead tri-mix. .125 to .250; D9.1 same range 75/25 gas with ASTM A 653 Steel overhead; D1.1 .125 to 0.750 Flat, Overhead, Vertical E70T-1 75/25 gas.; D1.1 E7018 Flat, Overhead , Vertical .125 to .750. Steel A36.Think my 5th cert, was Tig Stainless Overhead .125 to .750 . Now I am 58 and retired and enjoying your videos.

All my welding was inspected, either in shop or later when I went to install.
