Yea the Sebastian quest imo is on par with the main quest if not better. Honestly I think both poppy and Sebastian’s quest line is somewhat better than the main quest, poppy’s lets you see the dragon scenes albeit it was spoiled in the trailer and Sebastian’s quest really touches on some deeper conversations in this otherwise narratively pretty straightforward game. And I think Sebastian shouldn’t be turned in at the end, Solomon although being a legal guardian never fulfilled any of his responsibility, that alone should strip him from that guardian title and disown his right to separate the siblings. His only method of communication (I don’t even think his action qualified for the word education) is to immediately disagree or ignore and destroy any effort from Sebastian. So yea although technically Sebastian killed Solomon, which is not desirable to any extent, it was because his guardian failed his responsibility to properly educate his ward. That’s why modern law prevents harsher punishments to minors and make their parents take the hit for them. You don’t educate your children by disagreeing and denying them, you educate them by letting them act and own their actions, if the actions turn out to be not so effective, you provide them alternatives and share the consequences with them. That’s why kids look up to their parents, because they are wiser and more experienced, not because they are older. They can come up with alternatives that remedy the situation which is something a kid normally would never think of. What Solomon did is similar to that of a 15 years old, not so different than Sebastian.
@ShinGetsu857 Жыл бұрын
Honestly the other reason why Sebastian shouldn't be turned in, is that it will results in a 15 years old getting sent to Azkaban. Nobody deserves Azkaban. If it was a somewhat normal prison or somewhere where he could reflect on his action for a few years, away from society, why not. But Azkaban is a shithole only monsters would send a kid too. Sebastian made huge mistakes by trying to rely on dark magic, but killing his own uncle and being hated by his own twin sister for his whole life is punishment enough. He deeply regret his action and will regret them for his whole life, but I also believe he learned his lesson. It's just a shame it had to be this way.
@DanielFanzwicky Жыл бұрын
@@ShinGetsu857 Well said. Also I never understood why Anne is so fixated on trusting Solomon, I was confused when she said “you’ve made your choice” to Sebastian after the tragedy, isn’t Sebastian’s choice long made before this entire drama, he only wants to fix Anne. The only explanation is that she’s already been gaslit by Solomon in believe in her curse is permanent and untreatable, otherwise she feels like an one dimensional character to me which is a shame.
@DanielFanzwicky Жыл бұрын
@@gregcross8486 ? Say a kid want to play in the field, there is a particular area in the field that could trip him and make him fall. You as a parent is concerned about that safety hazard, that is normal, but if you tell your kid don’t go there, you are rejecting your kid. And what will they do? They go there anyway. What you should do is tell your kid that place is a bit dangerous, watch yourself and go play. If they isn’t careful enough and trip and scratch their ankle and don’t like the feeling, they will know why you said watch yourself to them and make sure they don’t trip again, hence own up to their action. Now your kid has learned his lesson but is hurt, you should treat him immediately and tell him next time walk slower there or hang on to something, hence alternatives and sharing the consequences. What is important here is to utilize this method earlier, when the foreseeable consequences are still relatively minor, like the example I made. Essentially two of the reasons that drive disobedience are 1. Curiosity and 2. Lack of credibility. And communication is essentially the way to build your credibility and fulfill the kids’ curiosity. In the case of Sebastian, this is where communication is completely absent and eventually leads to tragedy. He bought the flower, the flower got disintegrated immediately, he used dark arts to safe Anne which is a better result to him than not using and let the goblin kills Anne, but he still got rejected by Solomon and was proximity banned. He then bought the relic, but before he can execute the dark arts the relic is disintegrated. You see a pattern here? Sebastian never saw a real consequence from his own decision, it was all rejected by Solomon before he could see a consequence. He used the dark arts but the result was Anne saved. That is not a good example to tell somebody to back off from dark arts, right? He attempts to utilize the relic but we never see what the relic can actually do(the “sacrifice”) because Solomon disintegrated the relic. There is no reason whatsoever for Sebastian to believe what Solomon is saying and stay away from the dark arts. Solomon knows the dark arts lead to dangerous territory because he might have seen it first hand, but Sebastian hasn’t, he’s just a kid looking for a cure. To Sebastian it’s just words coming from a person older than him with no credibility in the first place. And, because he hasn’t seen the result, the result will always be a possibility for a cure in his mind. As a parent or a guardian what you should do is communicate your experience to the kids, tell them this has happened and what was the result, tell them you’ve seen it, explain them how and where you’ve seen it, why did it convince you to form your current position over the topic. Not just tell them your position and be done with it, you were convinced by a series of actions why do you expect your kid to be convinced by only your words. Now you can argue if Solomon lets Sebastian use the relic the consequence could be too big to remedy. You will be correct and this is why I said communication should be utilize earlier before it’s too late. What if Solomon let Sebastian to use the flower? Will it hurt Anne? Probably not. Will it work? Probably not. But by letting him act and see the result your words are now true, and although he might not believe you at least your words have some credibility to it. Same logic with the dark arts Sebastian used to save Anne. Did it work? Yes it saved Anne. Is it dangerous? It certainly is. Is it morally ambiguous? For sure. So let him know all these, not just “you are wrong”, let him know his intention is admirable but his method is questionable, then provide him a better method based on your knowledge and experience. And because Solomon did none of this, the only consequence Sebastian get to taste is when things are already too far. Now finally, after not realizing why dark arts is unforgivable because his opportunities to learn this are all denied by Solomon, Sebastian executed Avada Kedavre and kills Solomon, which is the ultimate price for Solomon to pay (for his lack of skill and communication) and the ultimate lesson (for Sebastian to finally understand what his uncle was saying). Hope i’ve explained my logic well.

Asmon only struggled with the combat with a lot of enemies because he doesn't get used to Protego and Stupefy, the game becomes very easy once you learn to defend and counter enemy attacks. Asmon instead of using this mechanic he replaced with the roll, it's fine but on hard difficult you can get hit when you finish the roll animation because the enemies start to spam red unlockable attacks.

in some ways both solomon & sebastion should be in azkaban while in others not. solomon should have been more considerate of sebastian while only permitting him to use only non dark magic avenues to cure anne. sebastion should have not used the killing curse on solomon. there are extremely rare occurences to use the killing curse that deserves its usage to be overlooked which is basically when many peoples lives are in danger & the killing curse is the only way to save them. not when you are pissed off at your uncle for being a turd & standing in the way of you using ordinary non dark magic means for cures. natty & poppy are brave to make an effort to outsmart poachers & thieves. the magic contained in the repositories is not birthrighted to anyone unless they are able to see traces of ancient magic by birth not stolen power. the magic was hidden to make sure it would never be misused not to be gaurded for wizardkind or goblinkind specifically. ranrock & victor rockwood both had no right to the magic in the repositories at all particularily if neither were born witht he ability to see traces of ancient magic. the repositories may have been built by goblins but the magic stored within was created by witches/wizards. goblin belief about ownership concerning the magic in the repositories can probabily be challenged in this case since the magic & repositories were created by different individuals.
