All fextralife does it viewbot. There’s no way to associate with them and not know. Also, using your ring finger to flip someone off radiates “crust cut off” energy.

Did you even understood this video? Embedding is not viewbotting. It means that people, yes real people, who are using their web page to view guide for certain game will count as +1 viewer on the stream. The moment someone leaves the webpage there is -1 viewer for the stream. If you have a webpage, blog etc. you can add embedded version of twitch, youtube vid, twitter etc. It is an option distributed by those platforms. Its legal and commonly used. Its not fkin backdoor hacking tool that gonna do shit against your knowledge. And its so rediculous that devil himself Asmon will teach you about morals and how he cares about smaller content creators. That is a hypocricy on highest possible level. I will always look at this guy from the perspective of that first day of Lost Ark release. When everyone was waiting for servers to go up. When AGS was delaying that moment, people were hungry for knowledge how to play the game most efficiently. There was that one streamer that got half a millions viewers on his Lost Ark Twitch stream. You said to yourself this is the streamer to watch. He must be doing something awesome. It is the best place to gain knowledge about the game, right? And what was this streamer doing? He was rewatching content from smaller content creators. Sywos' and Kanons' youtube Lost Ark guides. People who dedicated a lot of time and effort to do those guides. And Asmon just searched for it on youtube. Or even worse, there are people who will send him links to most valuable content voluntarily. All he had to do is to add his - "Uh huh.", "Really?", "Oh wow! This is awesome." And people were throwing Twitch Subs left and right. Meanwhile I've seen Kanon streaming to like 300 people getting none of that. It is like fking people in the ass. People who create valuable content for the game just got mentally raped. Robbed. And the worse part is they will smile to the big fish in the pond, pretent it did not hurt and kiss his dick in the end. Having hope that they will join the social cirle. Gain a bit more recognition. Grow as a streamer by beeing connected to people who believe are bigger than the platform. Typical corpa scenario, doesn't matter how hard you work untill you kiss the ass of people higher in corpa ladder. Dude who will say that only idiots work hard. And then he will rip off of people who did the hard work. And now he plays a mother Theresa who cares about smaller streamers. WIll tell what is morally acceptable and who you should throw hate at. What is more, he will use all his social circle to join this war against different organization who is outside the area of his influence. Its a social media mafia. Who else is gonna pop off to tell how evil is Fextralife? Tectone, Moist dude? Who next? React Andys will jump on people who actually make game guides. And I did not even covered the big stuff. Fake people who abuse social psychology tricks from marketing area to manipulate their audience are playing scheriff of the platform. Tectone literally after trashtalking Fextralife on his life stream, said "This is the link to my new youtube vid." "10 sec, I wanna see 100 thumbs up or I quit the stream." Boom! +200 likes. "Play my vid in the background with lowered speed etc. etc." Is that fair advantage to smaller streamers/youtubers? And that fake acting. This hyper expressiveness. "Oh my God!" "Really?!" "Its unbelieveable!" I have never seen anyone to be as amazed as much about trivial things as Tectone and Asmon. Is it bad thing? Who cares? It works! Asmon saying for months that he will start playing Genshin some day. Hey lets keep Genshin fans lurking into my stream everyday. Is it bad? Who cares? It works. Tectone saying how he loves HSR. He played the game for 20 mins, 2 hours of non-related drama on youtube, reddit, twitter etc. Game was running in the background. "Ok guys I played this game long enough for today." Lets keep people believe I am a main HSR streamer to watch. Is it bad? Is it manipulative? Who cares? It works. I get it. You will use every known trick to be effective and if audiece likes it then its them to blame. But don't be a hypocrite. Stop treating your audience like they are idiots that only you can use. If Fextralife stream on Twitch sucks people will leave and never watch it again. If guides on their web page sucks, like mr.Moist said, people will decide on their own if they should leave or not. When you find valuable guide you will spend more time on a web page and act as +1 viewer on their Twitch stream for the time you use the page. Its a benefit that they gained from dedicating their time and effort to release guides for multiple games. On the opposite side we have people who just added few words to materials that was prepared by someone else. Hey you wanna do it? Ok. But don't act like you are better than people that benefit from their own effort. Don't manipulate people to destroy someones reputation. It is shady, its disguisting. You are acting like a social media mafia.

@@addyfalcon3656I read the whole thing, and yeah, it's all for content and views, even when they accuse others of being unethical with their content. Streaming is such a ruthless zero sum world but I think everyone wants to pretend it's not and there's "good" streamers. There's one paper on the problem with our colourblind, post-racism society, where systemic issues exist but we sweep it all under the rug and pretend it's just a few people with personality disorders that are sick in the head committing prejudiced acts out of their own individual volition and no one else; when in reality social and environmental factors interact with the individual to create individual-level oppression that is hardly more than symptoms of the disease. That same wilful ignorance is everywhere, and I'm sure people will admit it when confronted, but ultimately people don't care enough about it to make a statement on it. They just want to feel like they're on the winning side and be told they're good and kind. That's the narrative people want and so that's what's sold.

@@HookahOtaku Some of his wikis are legit. Many of his wikis are outdated, have very little content or being totally wrong about much of what is in them. Still he is embedding his streams in every single one of them. Firstly is the embedding done in a very hidden way for the people using his wikis. Secondly should he make sure that his wikis are totally correct, very useful for the full games and updated. If he is not able to do that, he should remove the wikis. But, of course he is not willing to do that. He would lose profit by doing that. So better to have tons of wikis where some are good, some are decent and a lot are trash, so he can be embedding his streams in all of them to generate a lot of "viewers" on his streams. And at least 95% of the people looking at his wikis are totally clueless about them being counted as a viewer on his streams.

Dude I'm like 50% of my favorite streamer's chat sometimes and it's great. Not saying the chat is dead, it's very much alive, I just talk a lot. They're getting a bit over 100 views these days with raids and trying to get twitch partner. When I then saw them with 16k viewer as recommended, my first thought was when I noticed the embedded stream on their website. I checked once during Diablo4 but left shortly after because nothing happend either on stream or chat. Embedded streams should not count to the view count, I didn't agree to it and I have to stop the stream every time I open a new tab of their wiki. Advertising their twitch stream is one thing, just rightout taking my traffifc on their website to boost a dead channel on twitch is another.

Apparently, they released a statement and the advertisers are completely aware of the stream embedding. Whether you have an opinion on it either way is fine and initiating dialogue on issues that concern you is a healthy thing for any community. Calling it view bottling is a little more inflammatory than calling it what it is, embedding. A process that twitch is 100% OK with. And if it is fraud, it is completely sanctioned by the twitch platform.

I am VERY casual streamer, meaning I don't give a damn about viewer counts. Even at most? I had like, maybe 5 people viewing. But even I occasionally get 2 to 3 people talking to me and with each other as I stream games and that goes MUCH faster than what this Fextralife is pulling off, and it's only because I talk with anyone 1, 2 or 3 people whose bored enough to come see my stream. So I doubt this guy even is breaking actual 3 digit view count in all honesty. I've seen many streamer who has 100 to 500 viewers chat that goes pretty damn fast, and people who has over 4 digit viewer count, their chat goes so damn fast you have a hard time remembering viewers name. If you have 5 Digit Viewer count, and you can remember every people who talks with you? Yeah you have 2 digit viewer count.

Congrats to everyone that could put 2 and 2 together, and realize this system is flawed, but it should be up to Twitch to fix this. Now I don't think this is right, but going after someone using a tool Twitch offers feels like inefficient uproar. Something as simple as not allowing autoplay on embed would do the trick.

As a complete layman when it comes to coding or webpage stuff, it seems to me an obvious solution to embedding would be for Twitch to only count 'veiwers' when the channel URL is in the web browser. If the viewer hasn't opened the URL to the page it shouldn't count. Embed to their hearts content then, it wouldn't harm the channel sponsers or other streamers if they could only count veiwers as people with the actual channel page open in their browser. On average there is about 35 accounts in there that isnt moderators. And 20 of those 35 are known bots that roam twitch. So at BEST there is about 15-20 people watching. And yet it says 32k.

Doesn't fextra life automatically show a small window of whatever stream they are doing at the time? does that view count get added to the viewer count? cause like i'll sometimes have a fextra window open just because im searching up wiki information

I understand and agree Asmons argument that if you pay someone to embed your stream on their site, yes that is equivalent to botting. However I view somewhat disagree as long as the website is something you made and run. For example, Preach Gaming. (Note he doesn't embed on his site, for arguments sake) If Preach started embedding on his website I would think those views more or less legitimate, people on Preach's site are already invested in his content (probably already in stream anyway) so if they're already on the site for Preach, why wouldn't their visit be meaningful? However, not so much the case here. I don't 100% know Fextralife, but from what I've seen their site is more like a wiki for multiple games. And my understanding is that Fextralife is a conglomerate with multiple streamers/content creators for multiple games. And therefore I believe that people visiting one of Fextralife's wiki sites for a different game written by someone who is not currently streaming, then yes that's basically what Asmon said in paying someone to embed you on their site. So yes I believe they're botting. Theres a bit of nuance here, if the site is an extension of yourself as a content creator, then by my logic it should be an extension of your stream. Since Fextralife is not a single content creator then yes this is scummy and they shouldn't count on twitch because it does hurt others. If I'm looking up a Remnant 2 guide on Fextralife I'm not at all interested in the dude streaming Armored Core, my embedded view is essentially botted.

Why not put a link. Or put an actual large and volume included embed on the site. You don't get to kick out the entire directory because you own a marginally successful website. Viewer retention is very hard, retaining people on a static web page is NOT.

Here's the thing, Fextralife creates amazing wikis I completely depend on them when I want a guide or walkthrough, I want to know the location of a specific item. Their wikis are invaluable. I've never watched their twitch channel, but on youtube they have great videos, guides, builds, reviews. So like they are working hard. Is it terrible that they embed their stream on their website? I'm not sure. They're benefiting from twitch ads revenue if twitch cares they would stop them if not then who cares, they're not stealing from anyone or harming anyone the only one being scammed here is twitch and twitch doesn't care. I wouldn't go as far as calling them shitholes or scumbags which Asmon did. And then goes and says why are they taking it personally like dude you just called him a scumbag like wtf? I like Asmon's react videos yet no one is calling him a scumbag for basically stealing the work of others which hurts that other youtuber/streamer because it's morally gray it's not clearly a bad nor is it clearly a good thing, what Fextralife is doing is cross advertising their platforms the platforms they made from the ground up the research and effort done to make these wikis and guides and walkthrough who so many benefit from is phenomenal, so yeah even if the views are ot actually from twitch they are still from the wikis which alot of people are using and if they get twitch ad money from that then good for them.

Chiming in at like 90 seconds into the video. I wonder if anyone considers that their stream automatically plays on their heavily used wiki sites. Literally a new stream window every single extra window you have. Of course not all of them are viewers or chatters, its just the views they are getting from the wiki site. I suppose I'll keep watching to see if this is brought up as a possibility

Come to think about it, ALL viewers have every right to appear anonymously and privately, whether a view bot is used or not. Just be on the lookout for any whistleblower that decides to question the validity and/or privacy of the viewers who are watching you.

I think that's up to website owners to implement. But I agree that Twitch should probably have such terms in place. The problem is, and I might be wrong about this, anyone can embed anyone's stream. So if some third party embedded you in a way that breaks such terms you shouldn't be held liable to any punishment for breaching those terms. So there could be some non trivial cost to the enforcement. Realistically I think the best outcome would be for Twitch to make embedded views public. That transparency would go a long way I think.
