Anakin: kills at least a dozen children for his master this guy: there is no good or evil here
@terruskaa6 ай бұрын
I mean in the Original Trilogy there wasn't really Good or Evil, it was 2 Philosophies with different opinions. And then you could either say a Liberation Army against an Autocratic Empire Or you could say a Monarchy against Terrorists.
@brianshripka29176 ай бұрын
@@terruskaa Respectfully disagree. You are right that there are two philosophies with different opinions but it's how you enforce those views that gets you labeled good or evil. The Empire built a weapon specifically to destroy entire planets of people who did not agree with them. They killed 2 billion people just testing it out. Then looking at things more literally from Lucas' perspective, the opening crawl of episode IV spells it out that the rebels "have won their first victory against the evil galactic empire". Episode V opening crawl refers to the search for Luke Skywalker by the 'evil lord Darth Vader'.

That's basically the Same as American and Russian Atom Bombs. From a Neutral standpoint, the Empire is portrayed as Evil, but if we look behind the scenes both views are possible

You know, that reminds me of a story I remember in Fable 2. I'll shorten it here, but a hobgoblin dresses in a man's clothes and goes into a human town successfully passing as a human. Moral of the story: It's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought an idiot, than to open it and be proved one.

Notice how Natalie Portman kept saying she does this, and she does that. Referring to her character as an actual character written in a story. Divorcing herself from the character. But the new actors today all they say is I, I, I. I do this. I do that. They never say he or she now like they used to. Because they are all being hired due to their identity in real life, and not the character in a story. That’s secondary, and they are primary. There is no character development or story it’s only ideology. The series is completely ideologically driven from the floor up. That’s why all you hear is I I I. The creator literally said she made the show for that black actress. Didn’t audition, didn’t look at anybody else, made the show just to hire her. Today they build the character around the real life identity of the actress, instead of building the actress around the character.

Critics are just the exact the same type of people as the stars being casted. It's all about showing support to the "right thing" and not supporting the "wrong thing". Actual quality of the content be damned. Plus you have to understand that critics are in position of some sort of power (a lot less so nowadays) and they like it because in some cases they can try to flex it and force smaller companies to submit. And with a huge franchises like Star Wars they like to be showed premieres in advance, they like to be in the "inner circle" (I mean an exclusive club of some sort), and if you shit on something this big, you're likely going to be blacklisted and taken away from the "inner circle". So naturally critics have evolved from being experts on the content they review to just grifters who want free shit and exclusive treatment.

Especially when they can just focus on finding their views and politics in the original. Lord of the Rings has Galadriel and Eowyn as strong female characters but when making Rings of Power they choose to disregard the source material when they can just look for their views within it. Peter Jackson even added to this by showcasing more of Arwen’s character in the film. The Witcher has both strong female characters (Ciri and the sorceresses) and LGBT representation (Ciri, Philippa), but when making the show they still chose to change the source material. The original Star Wars trilogy had Princess Leia. Since then we’ve also had Ashoka (from the clone wars), Padme, Mon Mothma, and a ton of other strong female characters in Star Wars. They just think that the only way to incorporate representation is blatantly and by calling it out, since they appear to be blind to examples of it being done correctly.

Puts me in mind of the Clerks movie where they have a whole skit about how the first death star was a legitimate military target but the second one might have been a war crime. @@lugabo5756 you are correct. And if you think about it, is blowing up a battlestation manned by millions who just blew up a planet for basically no reason really evil? Are we going to say that the British torpedo bomber pilots who sunk the Bismarck are evil for sinking a Nazi battleship?

@@nilloc93 im not even sure the deathstar would even have millions on board either, maybe a couple of thousand, where as the planet they blew up definately had millions of inhabitants
@nilloc936 ай бұрын
@@mehlyn6599 I mean its the size of a moon, given that a ISD had a crew of 37,000 (think of the kill count on that hammerhead in R1) and was about 1/100th the size of the death star. Cannon puts the death star crew at ~370K +25K stormtroopers with 750K passengers. Which means that most of the death star is a MASSIVE void space. A real life example a US GRF carrier has a crew of 2600 and is 330m long you could fit 480 US supercarriers end to end inside the death star, you would need 10's of thousands of supercarriers to fill the death star.

Are you kidding me? Don't you remember back in the Original Trilogy it was always about 'The Dark Side', 'The Light Side', and the ever prevalent, 'Morally Gray Side'? 99% of all force users used the 'Morally Gray' side of the force...even when Yoda was training Anakin on Dagobah he talked about the morally gray side of the force for like three hours straight...jeez, I'm almost wondering if any of you have even watched the originals... That's why before the Emperor told Anakin, "I am your father.", he stated, "If you only knew the power of the Morally Gray side!"

@fedord016 ай бұрын
They were never bad. Sure the dialogue was pretty cringe and the acting wooden, but goddamn, at least those movies still had the spirit of star wars. The only reason the prequels were universally panned was because they didnt copy/paste the originals from the 80s, which is what the Star Wars diehards were expecting. Which just blows my mind because the prequels were literally made 20 years later. Surely people had to expect SOME changes from the originals to occur.

God commands us to hate sin. Not people. Sin. The other side is always trying to confuse good and evil for this reason. Isaiah 5:20 - "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" That currently describes Disney, most forms of media and entertainment, most politicians, etc. We are very much in a spiritual warfare that has been ramped up at a rapid pace over the last 10 years or so.
