as someone who's been playing with duel wielding huge weapons for 90% of the game and then switched to rivers it's not even remotely the same. while it's true the damage output is insane when duel wielding huge weapons it however comes at a cost of being very telegraphed and having slow recovery, a downside rivers doesn't have. and let me not get started on rivers pros like it's huge range, bleed etc.

@@novinka19 Colossal swords are not OP, dual wielding them is because it does way more damage than the average, just like all other OP items and spells. With power stancing colossal weapons it is very obvious to see since the damage is double or triple or even more than that of a single colossal sword, while having equally long recovery times. Log on now and test the jumping attacks yourself. It is a clear case of it being OP since the only downside compared to one colossal sword is the weight of two, in other words nothing. Theres practically no downsides to that extreme damage increase, that makes it broken. No different than shooting lazers at the bosses, only slightly less OP. I don't really get what you're arguing tbh. Do you think the standard should be 5 hitting every boss in the game?

@@vergil8833 you clearly haven't played a playthrough duel wielding colossals if you think you can "5shot" a boss, and it is very different then using magic from 10 feet away spamming spells that do 30% with each shot. if duel wielding was OP it would be used competetive in PvP yet it isn't wich goes against the very definition of OP. try doing very telegraphed jump attacks against a semi decent player and see how that works out lol.

Not to mention, if the rivers user only need spam his weapon art whilst you must play at a far higher level and successfully execute a parry in what could be your last action in the entire fight, something is wrong. Sure your crit might kill him, but you also may get caught in the ROB and lose. If connection quality with players was consistent then yes, practice your parries. Otherwise just parry bro is not good advice.

@@Brelicity If you want to avoid getting your poise broken run around in a circle casting magic glintblade. The charging delay will set up your opponent to get hit from behind. It works especially well if you also have a sword, or dagger equipped to punish them when they roll to dodge the magic blades shooting at them from every direction.

Jump attack is very predictable, and if they miss it's easily punishable. Rivers of blood has a 3 move weapon art combo that can 1 shot glass cannons, 2 shot average builds, and 3 shot tanks

Pvp looks like there is a large amount of defenders advantage. Runs then counter attack. Very lame stall pvp mechanics. All you have to do is wait for someone else to make the first move or rock paper scissors a build against another one.

i played a lot of mordhau, M&B online PVP and for honor so i really am into melee PVP games but the netcode in this game makes me wonder why people actually waste their time doing PVP. the ammount of hits that don´t register is crazy. even worse since the first invasion i ever had, i never saw one that made problems again, these people build their characters around PVP, they come into my world to do PVP and they get completely wrecked by my PVE character...^^ the best are those PVP players that just go back into their world after you hit the with the scythe that prevents healing, PVP players are something else for sure! the multiplayer invasions are all the same, guy comes in, sees our loadout, starts running towards next best boss/enemy... why don´t you just stop wasting mine and your own time? :)

Phantom hits have been a thing in souls games for a while.

That's a latency thing that's been present in all the souls games. It's preferable to play the sound even if the other player's client hasn't confirmed the attack missed due to i-frames or something than to occasionally not play a sound when an attack does hit or even worse to delay the sound of a hit. Only fix for that is lower ping. If this is your major complaint about the PvP, then I'd say they did a pretty good job.
