I am floored by the level of transparency on the data breach and 2factor auth discussion. You pretty much never hear the level of info like this, and the no hesitation on admitting their failures in it. Far more respect for that than when people try and downplay or hide things, and the in depth detail on what they are doing and why things might take time, etc, was not even necessary but gives a ton of insight and appreciation for what's up.

Part of the problem I found with lower level maps is that generally they weren't difficult, but then suddenly one type of attack would just kill me, and the attack wasn't even anything big or choreographed. So it wouldn't feel very good because it's like the map lulled me to sleep then hit with something out of nowhere. Pretty much all deaths are like that. It'd be better if the map was just super hard from beginning to end bc then I'd be on my guard the entire time. But when I play a map for like 5min with no challenge, I assume it's an easy one I can beat until some attack comes that isn't anything special but ends up doing a lot more damage than anything else.

This tend to happen to me too then I realized it's bc the map is rolled with a type of elemental damage amped for monsters and that elemental type is the one I do not have max resistance on. This can be further amplified if a rare or magic monster also have keywords for that elemental type. It is frustrating bc maxing out resistances is not something you can just do very early on given the budget and inflation and all that.

One thing that should help is they fixed a number of monsters that had weirdly high damage compared to others of their level, so while there will still be weak and strong enemies, the variation won't be quite so much.

No, not everyone want to have it hard all the time. It should be a slowly rising difficulty and maybe have a damage cap on mobs in a map that they can't do a one hit kill.

The game 100% gives you the opportunity and flexibility to be tanky and do low tier maps but then pushing with bad skills/comps will push you into a dmg or tank with none of the other sadly. I want more off meta but only a few wierd builds i have seen that can do real big boy content

I told my buddy why I didnt buy spiritborn expansion for d4 , its because poe 2 was coming out soon. I'd rather spend my money on a team that has a proven track record and knows what they're doing. One of the few games I have no issues donating more through microtransactions etc for doing such a great job.

When i see the endgame so far, i dont think they know what they doing.. and there is a lot of people who think that too.. Community on this topic is basically like 50/50. Stop overhype that (there is probably reason why 300k people on steam already quit). Also i still think that D4 made so much more money in the first week of release. But they didnt have 500 dollars pack, maybe they would gain even more money with that in D4. IMHO all ARPG's now just suck... we need some fresh good game, unfortunately POE 2 is not one of them so far.

wow, these game devs are awesome dudes. POE2 was my first experience with the ARP genre. it feels like it's S tier gameplay, awesome visuals, amazing boss fights. I really do with they'd reconsider damage numbers showing. it helps early game to gauge how much dmg you're doing. I understand turning it off at high lvls but i think we should be given the choice. regardless, these guys love this game and they're really trying hard to make it work for everyone. We can tell.

I don't want numbers just because there is way too much going on but maybe having a target dummy in the towns or something that does show DMG just to see your dps and help decide between gear changes etc. It can be hard to tell if an item is helping or hurting you how you want it to

I like 1 portal for maps ( bosses should have some amount of respawns ), especially when they will nerf a bit one shot stuff from monsters, magic find should stay but limited to gear, i am fine with honor if it is adjusted a little bit more for melee builds... Rest of stuff, i agree with.

Upcoming minor patch. Boss encounters are on tablets now. Only pinnacle boss fights allow respawns. Easy mode 6 respawn less the more difficult. Minions... Oh well. Es scaling is OP because bleed is bugged. Once bleed works everyone is dying to bleed. Towers are getting 4 new layouts. Magic find is here to stay just get it on gear but not too much or you'll get rich too quick. Sanctum and Ultimatum 4th ascendancy is supposed to be hard and torturous.

Same thing IS happening to PoE2 it's dying and theres a cult of positivity circle jerking these two right off the cliff. You can tell by their tone that they arn't really interested in fixing the big stuff the core philosophies that made ruthless so bad and made people avoid that mode. They are 150% convinced that people will eventually like ruthless. That approach is absolutely doomed. This was depressing to listen to because it will take many months of the game failing now for them to abandon those ideas and change course.

The problem with map sustain to me is that in your map should only see a range of +2 to -2 tiers in your map, but right now I could go run a tier 13 map and have tier 2 maps dropping..

i love how they discuss the issues with the tier system. PoE1 vets are losing their minds about what the best tier is and keep referring to it as t1 but its like t10-12 for most things lol but then new players are like "bigger number, better modifier" which also makes sense. It’s a perfect example of “sounds good on paper; but is not in practice” There is no place that, when playing, tier mods being better as they are higher is ever good. It’s fine with maps, and “tier X” items…but for mods you need to know how good the mods are. Since some mods can have varying tiers you’d have to memorize which items have maxs earlier than others…and even if they give the info on the tooltip you’ve just cluttered it more for no gain.

@@bitharne maybe i am not in the majority, but I actually like not knowing what the best tier is, it is just an another thing to discover and a lot of PoE is discovering game knowledge, memorizing things, calculating and engaging in combinatorics. It is generally not a game with a lot of handholding and I like it, as it actually feels like a video game which is an excersize for the brain like some of the video games from the olden times.

i hate that they made rarity basically mandatory because the gear cost is through the roof and them talking about these crazy 1 shot builds but they dont say that these builds cost like a mirror worth of currency to make. also i literally stopped playing my stormweaver after the cast on freeze ice comet nerf because i spent all my gold and currency getting that character to a playable point and then it gets nerfed the next day. time wasted currency wasted. rip cast on minion death

It was also classy of DMT to continue on and not linger on the 2FA conversation when Jonathan wrapped up. It is clearly a vulnerable and transparent situation where they feel bad and lingering probably only makes it a worse experience. Props to DMT for asking 1 question and moving on. Props to Ghazzy for moving on and not lingering either. I see what they mean about Armour. It sounds like theyre going to raise the floor of Damage Reduction scaling and then add gates of diminishing returns as the flat damage of the hit increases would be a decent fix. Wonder what they come up with though. They should nerf breach spawn rate by at least 50%, and replace 10% of the remaining enemies with rares. Obviously the %'s are just based on my feeling but they know better. They should keep XP loss, and add 6 portals in T1, removing 1 portal for every 5 tiers. 5 portals in T6-10, 4 portals in T11-15, 3 portals in T16, 2 portals in T17, 1 portal in T18 6 portals always spawn and is the max limit for parties, but the above is the limit per person The other option is to add +1 Portal Attempt as a corruption on the map, in my opinion.

They need to be more worried about the sustained player count drop on steam since dec 16th. 420s down to 380s down to 320s down to 280s now down again to 250s. They should be gaining momentum at this point not losing this fast. Those are big dropoffs. They are talking like these are minor issues some they don't even think are legitimate when the player count drops indicate that people are not liking poe ruthless rebranded as poe2 a lesson they already learned last year when people hated poe ruthless.

11:30 Personally i believe the reason they dont get why people dont get sustain maps, is cause of rarity find and drops. I never knew just running 300% waystone chance drop map is not enough. U actually need to run rarity finds. When i run fully juice boss map without rarity finds, i can get waystones drop little to none. Once i changed 4 of gear to rarity drops,my drops skyrocketted. I got more than enough maps ,exalted a and uniques drop soo much

Don’t waste good maps on towers and never run a white map, buff it to blue or higher and you should honestly be fine.

I had the same issue, fix it with by deleting path of exiles files in documents, then verify. All of your game settings will reset tho so change em then everything should be good to go.

For a Concoction Pathfinder it's kind of Required. You only gain access to them once you unlock them. Then you can also pick up extra skill points for the talent tree on the Pathfinder Ascendancy it's actually really nice. Keep in mind we only have 2 out of 3 for each class out right now.

First time I've played an ARPG, I absolutely love the game, but the penalty to EXP and not having some OP build has probably cut 50 hours out of gameplay from frustration that I would have otherwise been happy to invest in POE2. It gave me a reason to play something else because nothing productive was coming out of engaging with the game even though it's what I wanted to play. I hope this can fixed to some degree, otherwise I'll just keep playing Marvel Rivals.

Of course theres gonna be bunch of issues, the whole point is to figure out the issues and fix em all up before official release. With GGG's track record, i believe they gonna fix the game. Wish they asked about Rituals. Really nasty to be in small hallway with tornado and darkness flooded with mobs that do you in. Those are harder than any boss for sorceress at least. I think my Warrior does them easier, but nasty just nasty with any class. Only way I do them is after clearing map and having just leveled.

I dont engage with rituals with any of my chars because theyre always in the worst possible positions, its obviously intentional. Theres just 1 char that i do all the rituals with: My corpsewade pathfinder with sacrifice & cleric minions. Because i can just walk around a tiny bit and everything just dies. With anything else its just ass and a deathtrap. I can highly suggest making such char just for the rituals alone.

Hey mate, you don't need to use any 3rd party programs to "fix" it. You can just manually set affinity for poe process through task manager each time you launch it. But I agree, this should've been a top priority issue fixed month ago. Before I figured out the solution, I had to hard reset my PC dozens of times, and that shit can actually damage your pc.

One of the the problem with XP penalty is that it also applies to other difficult content with a high probablity of dying like citadel bosses or simulacrum. I just dont do that stuff until I farmed my next level

poe 2 does not have crafting at the moment. it has gambling. this is not crafting. crafting is "get 2 rocks, get 5 ores, get 3 woods, make ingots, cut wood, put it together = make sword" No, poe2 does not have crafting at all. PoE1 was mostly gambling too, but at least we had a crafting bench AND essences actually gave a deterministic mod. They took an entire step back with crafting in PoE2, its just absolutely bad. "but I can use an omen herp derp to reroll only suffixes derp derp" yes and its still random. Its gambling. Stop calling it crafting at this point.

Honour system in Sekhema trial will never be removed because its the safety net for failing the trial without actually dying in it. Sanctum and Sekhema trial are "Roguelite Dungeon Leagues" and in Roguelite games its usually hard to heal yourself so avoiding all damage becomes a must.

Copper citadels being rarer for the playerbase is probably because of the biome types players tend to avoid more not generating as much as a result whereas ggg's testing method is generating millions of atlas land and seeing how many of each they spawn. That method assumes all land is thought of as equal

If they did not respawn all mobs on death, letting the players use another map to re enter wouldn't make you kill all the mobs again. This way you get the items only once, don't lose maps on deaths and can also retry bosses again.

The problem with loot on the ground is that you'll never care about what you're finding, because the chance of it being an upgrade for you build is lower than the chance of meeting a supermodel who wants you and has just won the lottery. The only two options you have to get gear are to craft it or to trade for it. And only one of those two options is 100% deterministic with the only cost being time investment. Hint: it isn't crafting, because "that would be to easy and would make you not care about ground loot."

SOLUTION FOR MAPS: Example: You enter T5 map. If you successfully completed the map. You automatically get T6 map dropped. If you fail the map, you automatically get T4 map. That way you always at least have one map you can play with, even if no additional maps dropp during that run. Also having the map upgraded to next tier on completion allows for excitement on trying to push higher maps in order and see if you can do them.

@@Rafael-km9mx You are at endgame farming. Even if that wasn't the case, obviously people are having issues with that and quitting the game because of it. The goal of the devs is to make the game approachable and fun for as many people as possible. Changing the way map drops work will not have a negative effect on experienced players, but it will drastically improve the experience for new players. You will still get your 5 maps drop, except that one of them is a guaranteed drop, rest is RNG. Saying just "git gut" is not an objective approach to solving problems. Thank god you are not a game director.

For the map loss topic, what if they did a "perfect clear, 3 portal" system? So when you run it you have all your juice, and that's dependent on not dying, but if you DO die, you can still try to clear 2 more times on a 3-portal system, but you are no longer juiced. It solves the keeping the punishment for death aspect, while allowing for follow-through in clearing that people are looking for, while still being restrictive by halving the portal count from the original 6 chances

How would that be any different from whats currently in place? ->You die = the entire node is destroyed into an empty, useless, waste of my time-node. All they have to do is remove the loss of the node aspect from it. Can keep the 1 life mechanic, loss of waystone when failing, and even 10% xp loss. But the loss of the node itself is simply too much, and its what turns everyone towards meta builds, guides, etc... The loss of the node on top of everything else, ups the cost of dying to a completely unacceptable level. Its losing everything + punishment on top of it + dying itself is more often then not because of some random BS happening (off screen shit, that kind of stuff) Which amplifies the negative experience even more. (this was gonna get fixed) Keeping the node in case of failure whilst keeping all the other costly aspects, fixes all these things. Dying actually matterts now, instead of being "game ruining" levels of mattering and just in general a wholly negative frustrating experience. The "punishment" is still there (lose waystone, lose XP) It gives you a reason to get more waystones. It stops wasting players time going through useless nodes, by simply getting rid of useless nodes alltogether. The waystones themselves give the player the control over the difficulty, in case they surround themselves with nodes too difficult for them at higher tier waystones. I went from "holy shit this game is awesome" To "This is so trash, im gonna play something else", when i got to tier 8+ maps, because of the aforementioned. Every time i die now, i just alt F4 and go play something else instead. Because i just got my time wasted for nothing, and on top of it, i cant even try again to make up for it either. As everything is gone. Its the exact same dynamic as people having an issue with those pinnacle bosses or whatever being oneshots & them dying cause they dont know the boss yet. They lose everything, after having invested tons of time and resources into it. What im talking about is exactly the same but on the smaller scale. The fact its an issue in both scenarios, simply underlines the fact its a game design issue. You cant have all these combined at the same time. Hence, remove the loss of node aspect, you can keep the rest (just like they said u were gonna get more chances for the big bosses). It fixes everything.

I would make it so you have more portals and you don't lose EXP but if you die, you drop currency items you have on you. That would give players control over risk and reward but would not punish their experience and players could have access to more build options and fun.

There is no excuse to not be able to swap ascendencies, especially when any day a patch can drop that completely removes the reason why you picked it in the first place. Even without that most people do not want repeat the entire storyline and trials again and just quit because they cant play the way they originally wanted. This is not an rpg where you could argue choice mattering is more important then character power, this whole game is about character power.

Idea for the one portal bad - what if you could plug in more than one waystone (to a limit) and thereby gain extra revives on death when in the map. Would provide agency in the form of an insurance. Use more and you have fewer maps to put in, use sparingly and you have more risk.

4 eye principle, if you wanna change a log or so, you need another support person to approve it with some common etiquette, and also it needs to be a process that is a "you must know this from your job training" and it won't show that you need approval, you just have to know that you must ask another colleague to approve. And if someone is asking you "hey it's not working" that's already pretty sussy, because they are an old colleague and should know that they need approval from you or anyone else.

You should never have an issue w map sustain in trade league. You can spend 1 exalt per piece on gear and that will get you to the point where you can fully kit the char and not die.

My meager pet peeve about the game is that naming your character part is too strict. Let players name their characters without the _"already being used"_ restriction. Character names are bound to accounts anyway. Accounts are already unique, and letting them have the names they truly want shouldn't be an issue. Even if there are a multitude of players naming their character JOJO, their user account and email will never be identical.

I dont think they really test game from perspective of a average player. They only know how game behaves when played by someone who knows game inside and out and use one of the over powered builds. I stopped playing my main character cause I have no waystones of high enough level to keep playing... and I dont see fun to do maps lower levels which gives nothing. If I get as a reward waystone lev1 from doing map lev 8, then obviously there is something wrong here.

Higher level waystones dont magically drop better loot. They drop the same currencies just at different item levels. Bosses will always drop waystones, so you're just doing something wrong. @MichaelThorage

I'm not a developer and I have the same experience as Mark, getting to t15 waystones is actually much faster and easier than t16 maps in poe1. You probably don't alch your maps/don't use towers/die too often

when it comes to releasing the new acts, i think just go for 8 acts. Figure it out later Maybe you get a buff, or a "reward box" for finishing that gives you powerful items to speedrun the act, or you just get a cutscene about how you "go" through act 1 cruel and land in the next act. OR you play act 1 and act 2 cruel and then you get a "cutsene" about how you skip to the final

Their approach (not even if the changes are good or not for everybody) is just insane everything they explain the attention to detail with every answers. Not dodging or deflecting standing their ground when they’re confident with something that needs to stay and why. The accountability to straight up say that they lacked on something and will fix it. And the speed that they do this changes/fixes and updates to the actual game is crazy. Must be really nice to be a gamer with devs and games like this

they should adress the problem with map objectives, to be precise the necessity to kill every elite monster is a pain when you realise you left one at the other end of location.

I had the crashes every hour or so and it went away once I disabled global illumination my crash reports said, "game has crashed due to failure to load a texture". I assume it was the auras from Blasphemy, as they would always downscale and flash.

Magic find is not an issue it's player fomo and not understand how to juice maps properly

One of the biggest issues I’ve seen with it is not maps. It’s the campaign. Especially in SSF, you get a decent set of MF gear you’re going to see much much more better loot. 5th char now going into maps and each time it’s the same

@lawless7859 you can do the same thing if not better by using quant tables on towers and also rolling quant and rare mobs on your maps

@@lawless7859 Campaign doesnt even come close to MF gear + MF/Quant/rare mob tablet juicing. If youre getting more loot in the campaign youre doing something fundamentally wrong in maps.

@@omegacloud222 No, what I am saying is that if you do the campaign with and without MF its like night and day. Of course once you can juice maps it doesn't matter. But a good deal of the game is the campaign for most, in SSF it's also a bit more of a challenge, MF really makes a difference.

I tried playing on a controller and combat felt awful. Perhaps it will be a fine option for Righteous Fire when we get that or some other constantly on or auto target abilities.

New class: Poser Elon. It has invisible Minions and it has cars that explode doing AoE.
EPIC set items 'Elons Four things ' hat, jacket, boots, ring, (ring of insecurity)

When getting a random stat just let it be 3-4 different random stats you can choose from giving your odds making decent item way higher

I humbly ask you all folks to please advocate for them to remove respec costs... I know it's not important for many, but for some with limited time to spend on gaming it's crucial to be able to enjoy a game like PoE2. I really wish I could play it and enjoy it to the fullest, I know however I won't have the time to grind through all of the builds I'd like to test out. Free respecs + loadouts for builds is the way to go, always, as resource-based respec mechanics are purely a waste of time. Especially in a game with as many possible choices as PoE2.

Why? Selling items and collecting it in late campaign and early maps gives way more gold than you can ever spend by respeccing. Don't be lazy

Saying this as someone who works 50+ hours a week. I'm against 0 cost respeccing. The game needs a gold sink and having a means of respec-ing on the fly is a slippery slope. You already have 2 separate passive trees based on your weapon sets and it becomes reasonably affordable to respec (at least part of the tree) for late game.

For maps and ramping they could do something like start with 6 portals at t1 and just reduce the number every other tier, then once you hit t11 you're back down to 1 portal

PLEASE give us respawn IN maps. If I die I already lose 10-15 hours of playing in terms of exp. That is punishment enough. I don't need to lose out on my map and modifiers as well.

if 10% is 10 hours of gameplay you've done something wrong with your characters, i'm lvl 96 and every map is on average 5% exp, and even if it gave 1%, you don't take 1 hour per map or i hope so for reference i'm talking about t15 / t16 maps

@@BlackHawk21ification There is no way you're averaging 5% per map on 96. I'm 95 and i could maaaaybe get 5% if it's a 10 breach map. Otherwise it's more like 1-1.5% per map.

@@sylphiafox do you not juice up your maps ? sure on bad map with few league mechanics i'll get 1/2% but otherwise if you use the towers & tablets you get a lot of exp
