Great video from both Asmon and the Wizard dude, but on a side note I am so sick of games with great potential being shit on because of greed. Free to Play is not free to play and inevitably costs more than a game with a sub, and now even sub games act like they are free to play.... Beating a dead horse I know but man I miss how games used to be, you know, made to be fun ahead of everything else.

Amazon did not invest anything in Westernizing the game, outside of changing the skin color of NPC's to score woke points. They copy/pasted the KR experience into the West, which produces all this malding, because the way KR players play this game is VASTLY different from how we play it. In KR, players doing infinite chaos dungeons is normal sight. KR player are bio-bots themselves. The Kanima dude which the Wizard referred to has like over a dozen alts and he actually players them all on rotation. In addition, there are some mechanics in the game which simply cannot be bypassed without digging into your wallet which we inherited form KR. That is the past +20 item level progression. In KR until +20, progression was easy, with a little bit of salt between +17 to +20. But after +20 the amount of gold and mats required out of you is insane and it can only be sustained by playing an army of alts or by swiping. There is no second option. Amazon should've spent more money on removing the RMT shit that is in-built into the game and remove these shady whale tactics for our Western version of the game. This copy/pasting experience from KR is the main reason why all KR MMO's fail in the west, because they come with the whale and progression tactics which are in line with KR mentality, which is different from ours.

I remember at release, Zeals talking about how gold depreciates in value and to not worry too much about making gold early in the game. Just take your time and enjoy yourself etc. Worst. Fucking. Advice. Ever. Release you had a once in a lifetime opportunity to stack obscene amounts of gold, all you have to do was blitz your way to T3 as soon as possible and farm as much as possible whilst bringing up alts and selling everything. Like Zeals himself was doing, whilst telling people to do the exact opposite. Greater Honor Leapstones were selling for 750g each for like 2 months, whilst a lot of people who watch Zeals spit that "take your time" shit were wandering around in T2 looking for Mokoko seeds. There was also the whole "play what you want" thing. Insisting every class is balanced and viable, which was also bullshit. I'm a gunlancer so I'm welcome everywhere, but a friend of mine who started as a Soulfist rereolled after hitting T3 because it sucked so badly. I see Deadeyes constantly moaning about not being able to get into groups, and gun slingers also seem to have issues. An Aubergine may be a viable replacement for a dildo, doesn't mean your girlfriend wouldn't have an issue if you tried to shove one up her ass.

Lost Ark respects your time = you have daily "allowance" in terms of activities you can complete for any meaningful sense of progression, 1/2 of these activities occur at specific times so the game has a literal calendar so that you can keep track of all the "content" you're allowed to play today. The level of mental gymnastics involved in thinking that this "respects your time" is staggering.

I don't even care that it's pay to win, they just made the base grind to get through the main story so boring I stopped playing. Doing 1000s of 1 minute fetch quests is boring af. Why they would launch the game as the watered down speed run version I can't begin to imagine. Combine that with the 100 currencies you need a 20 hours of Googling to figure out and I'm done. Just launch an old build of the game and once a month release an update through the builds till you get to current branch. But whatever, who cares, there's other games to play.

You obviously aren't in a guild that does any guild activities, guild pvp and guild pve are both completely p2w where you are fighting directly against them and there is no way to ever beat players that spend real money. You will never win a battleground or get control of islands, you will never get any of the high rewards. The top guilds are getting 500k gold or more weekly from placing high on the leaderboards that they get to distribute this gold to their members to get even stronger over you. This also goes for all world pvp, all time trials, first kill achievements, boss kill auctions that will become important later, even getting picked in party finder instead of you, and many many more. You obviously don't play the game enough to have any idea how it works, you sound like you're not even in tier 3.

I agree with everything except the dps test. Choosing soulfist with awakening is somewhat of a joke since their awakening deals a huge portion of their overall damage. Besides, target was static, gl having constant uptime with ki-bomb. A better test would be using something like precise dagger or ambush master.

@@sofaking9404 The only problem with Awakening engraving for Soul Master (not Soulfist cock Amazon bigot names) is that it misses 50% of the time. You compensate this somehow with faster reload and more uses (up to 6?). In raids like Valtan though, most of the time you will hit him. More mobile raids such as Biakiss are a problem. Grudge is the best engraving in the game, but making it a must requirement to do raids is stupid. If the Valtan that we have now would've been the one on release then yes, Grudge would be mandatory. But the 6-times nerfed Valtan that we have can be done with meme engravings.

That is because the player base is retarded and they take for granted everything Korean streamers and content creators say, disregarding the fact that the meta in Korea is vastly different from ours and that the popular builds are based on Korean whales. The longer it takes for us to realize this, the worse the game will get, because people will just reject people not because they play bad, but because they assume they play bad based on their build. Content that we have until clown at least can be done with meme builds easy. Those who are constantly rejected will quit the game eventually.

Only thing I would argue against is that "clearing the latests content" is not the main goal for most players. Character progression in itself is what drives whales and regular players most of the time. So it is not we gear ourselves to do the content but we do valtan to get the new relic gear :D. Also finding a group and getting yourself to the mvp screen can be seen as strong motivators to go beyond the mentioned 3 engravings. I personally would love if everyone would replace grudge with heavy armor because we would all clear valtan much faster and live happier lives.

He is completely realistic with this statement. If you make the money he does, 4k a year for a game is basically nothing. Spending that amount will make him via streams and youtube more than what he spent. If you spend 10% of what you earn every month for games, thats not much. If you earn 3k a month, thats 300 dollars, if you earn 1k a month, thats 100 dollars, if you earn 40k a month, thats 4k dollars. The relative amount spent doesn't change.

TBH, no1 uses whirlwind normally. But at the same time, no1 takes another damage skill as its 8th. He has: tempest slash(Q) chain sword/mountain (W) ---- counter & self buff sword storm (E) WHIRLWHIND (R) ----- usually this is shoulder charge mobility skill red dust (A) ----- biggest self buff finish strike (S) strike wave (D) hell blade (F) which is 7/7 META skills. Usually the 8th skill is shoulder charge, which is a movement skill. He probably has low tripods saved, which makes a HUGE difference. And he isnt really waiting for his big hitters to be casted during the 6seconds of red dust buff window (like FS, SW, SS, HB). But if we talk about whirlwind, he isnt losing DPS by using it, he is actually RAISING DPS since 99.99% of players uses the movement skill shoulder charge as 8th. Normally ppl uses auto attacks when other skills are on CD, so him having WW is a boost in DPS compared to standard meta...

I like the idea that people who suck at games and have miserable lives and jobs that pay them a ton of money have an outlet for their frustration and to help them relax and forget their terrible life choices they obviously regret. These kinds of games aren't made for real gamers-they're made for people who are just looking for a way to feel like they have some sort of power or control because they have none in their real lives. They are willing to pay a ton of money to feel like they are good at something and/or better than someone else at it. I feel bad for them like they feel bad for us. They are to be pitied.

Nope, he's spending the money not because he has to, but because he can. 99% of the playerbase wouldn't spend anywhere he did, if they spend at all - and they don't need to spend to access end-game content in a reasonable time frame, if not right at the release in the first place. If anything, people don't mind having whales in their raid parties because it makes things easier/quicker to clear contents with their huge DPS, and in PVP whaling does nothing because the format is equalized and your gear don't come into play. So whales in most part don't impact other players negatively. People like Asmongold is an outlier, and a streamer who does things what most people can't/won't (like spending $$$), for his viewers to share the experience they won't experience otherwise - would you rather watch someone who does basically the same thing as you do, do what you can yourself, over someone like Asmongold?

Honestly not a fan of Asmon's LA content. As someone who plays the game myself I just find his stance on it kinda offputting. It's clear and understandable what his mindset is, but the act is kinda grating. I guess he'll keep making videos about it till his viewers stop watching it, but I'm bailing out here. Still a fan of most of the stuff he does though. Personally, I just can't enjoy watching someone who is clearly disinterested in something throw shade at it. It's just not a fun time. It's like a more boring and less satirical version of the Asmon who played Diablo Immortal.

Yeah i find the way he presents lost ark disingenuous. Asmon is over 50 ilvl of valtan hard mode and like 35 over vykas hard which isnt even out. Does honing streams and makes it seem like he needs to get these honing attempts to progress, so all his viewers are freaking out over how pay to win the game is and its the same diablo immortal but in reality Asmon is simply doing it for himself and its not needed but never mentions that but rather say its $500 for that upgrade, which he didnt even need.
