As someone who farms raging brachy often, and help out SOS groups going him here's something most people miss : He has different coloured slimes, the green one and the red one. The red slime is the nuke slime and if you notice which arm has the nuke slime you can avoid the horizontal swipe that catches most players out. Likewise if the nuke slime is on the tail, he will do the explosive tail slam if someone is behind him, and if someone knocks the slime off (bow/gunner's job), the rear becomes much safer. If there are no ranged dps to knock the nuke slime off, use watermoss ammo that should be littered around the area. Otherwise the best place to stand is to stand an outwards 45 degrees from the knees as the back of the knees are unarmored and the tail couldn't get you from there, otherwise underneath his belly (not below the arms) if camera shenanigans aren't an issue for you and you are quick enough to react to leaps which will snag you. Often dodging into him is safer than sideways or away. He swings his arms when he charges (often wider on the nuke arm side) so his hitbox is deceptively wide. Deco's : - blast res (only needs 3 pts, very easy to get), this makes you immune to blastblight and reduces blast damage from 50% of your HP bar down to about 25% - earplugs 5 if you can get it. Very good QoL especially if he roars while you are on slime - vitality 3 and divine 3 is highly recommended if you can get it - friendship 1 Vit 3 is easy to get from golden rajang feet, which you should be hunting alongside raging brachy, it also gives ample gem slots for the decos needed. Since I use a blast weapon, I go for B52 head for the earplug points as well as Teostra waist for the extra blast and gem slot. If may seem like you are sacrificing a lot on durability and QoL decos, but brachy is really a glass cannon, and the trick is learning how to make equipment loadouts and staying flexible and alive.

Also thanks to him, more people know about this awesome game. That's a big W on its own. This series was very fun while it lasted. So when he talks about the power/armor charms/talons at 1:30:00 I do understand why he doesn't see the value in them just taking up inventory slots. The impact of it is usually only truly seen when using the Ranged weapons when you need to fill your inventory with the items needed to craft the ammo you use, which can very quickly take up tons of space. Similarly that's also why stuff like the Cold Drink exists. The Cold Drink is similarly of low value since keeping it active takes zero thought or actual difficulty, but the fact that not keeping it up has a big consequence in certain areas means you must have it in your inventory which can take away slots you would normally use for your offensive tools. Inventory logistics isn't an issue for all weapons, but it can be pretty major for some of them. Sword and Shield effectively has a part of their moveset entirely tied to inventory so they tackle similar issues at times. This sort of thing is why it's important for items like that to exist.

But by trapping it , you give them up to the research team to test a bunch of stuff on them. From weak points, seeing what hurts the monster the most. To testing how effective things like Poison are on it. Seeing what element does the most damage and which the least etc etc. Basicly turning the monster into a guinea pig untill it dies a horrible death. Then turning him into materials , whatever is left of it. And if its lucky , and we dont need it any longer , but it survives , it gets put into a fighting pit, for you to finally take its life.

1:30:00 (around then) on the whole bad ui topic: a lot of the times when one thinks "why is monster hunter like this?" its often because thats how it started out back on ps2. monhun is slow to change on a lot of things. world and rise have been the first big steps away from how they used to be. while this helped the game grow, a lot of old players fear loosing monhun's uniqueness and charm to mainstreaming. as has been said, the game is a lot about preparing for the hunt and that used to be more pronounced in the old games. just to give some examples: crafting used to have a fail% and you needed book items in your inventory to reduce the %, sharpening required a 1 time use whetstone item in your inventory, collecting bugs and mining required a pickaxes and bugnets in your inventory which had break%, ... as you see, inventory space used to be a lot more important. especially since you could not restock at camp. you only had what you went into the hunt with, what they gave you in the misson chest for free and what you collected in the area. thats why minus 4 on your inventory space used to be much more punishing. a lot of monhun world is vestigial, but only because a lot of the quality of life features made them so. and a lot more of what made the games so interesting to a lot of people will become vestigial or be removed as the game gets more streamlined. i personaly think all the recent and old games are great as they achieved what they set out on. (except maybe 3's underwater combat) but the newer games focus more on the fight than on the hunt, so a lot of stuff will change and that often rubs those wrong who were happy with what they had.

@@theunknowman12 yeah those people are just genuinely stubborn. cuz even my nephew which is 12 years old learned the moves just by being in the training grounds.. and could do tackle and singshot burst than Asmond.. but God deym he still managed to reach it.. I mean technically he easily could. but deym he could save 5+ minutes by doing the other mechanics... (Wallbang) + (Slingburst) or extending range by using the wideslash to go further the monster lol.

43:25 guys, yo now how asmon says he can’t see white on white and shit. Do you think his contrast is too low? Or it’s too saturated? Either one seems possible cos when he came up on this kirin, I couldn’t see it and I’ve never had that issue personally; I’m on ps4 pro and the diff between 1080p & 4k is insane colour wise that I’ve had to adjust my contrast on my monitor for 1080p since my old boy can’t handle 4k anymore😭😭but yeah, imo it could be is monitor settings fucking him cos the way his game presents on stream and yt(I’ve watched both) is impossible to see white on shit so I’m not saying it isn’t an issue but I think it’s an issue he’s unknowingly created

Having “oil” type of stuff like in Witcher would completely negate crafting weapons with certain effects nullifying farming for different things.

@Maelthorn133711 ай бұрын
1:32:41 This would hurt one the main staples of the series, which is build variety. If you could slap whatever element or status effect you wanted on a weapon, people would just pick the weapon with the biggest damage number and then use the consumables.

As an inexperienced IG user, mind me asking why that is?
@backslash414111 ай бұрын
@cthulhulik7177 I don't see why IG specifically would help with that though? I suppose easy mounts, but wallbangs are easy enough with any weapon and wouldn't hammer or another weapon good for stun work just as well?
@Plus_Escapee11 ай бұрын
Something interesting to note about weapon types and sharpness; monsters resist the sharpness of weapons differently, and this resistance varies with each body part. It's good to figure out what weapon is best against the target's legs, to allow more trips. Heads are sometimes weak to hammers, but not always. Each weapon type has depth worthy of hundreds of hours individually, and knowledge about one type can sometimes assist when learning new weapon types. If you can figure out how to take out the legs, generally, it makes the rest of the body easier to pick apart.

2:39:17 i think they literally showed a new tier of monster off in the game award trailer. Like a medium tier Boss mob, like a tier below a mob like great jagras or kulu yaku, but above the smaller mobs like the jagras or aptonath.

There used to be a Monhun MMO, though it was Japan only and now the official service has ended. There are fan servers and translations in the works if you want to try it. Fair warning though MonsterHunter Frontier is ridiculous, you can do a lot of over powered BS in it, consequently so can the monsters.

There were 2 MonHun MMOs actually. Monster Hunter Online was made by a Chinese developer and only available in China until it ended service in 2019.

I think Asmon has quite a few good points when it comes to the smaller QoL things like UI changes, as he said, just being able to drag items for example. Also think the default sorting thing he mentioned makes more sense for a new player... Not sure I agree on stuff like the oils, being able to add any element or status to any weapon would just make 90% of the weapons in the game irrelevant. Why use a elemental DB if I can just turn my fatty DB's into any element I want? if anything the oils would have to be based on enemy type, so "elder dragon oil", "Fanged Wyvern oil" etc. but even then it would be problematic because then do you balance around players using a consumable item and then risk more casual players struggling more as they might not use these consumables? or do you balance it around not using oils and then using it makes things maybe a bit too easy? Does it stack with other consumables? at that point you've just added another version of demon powder so what have you really achieved? Having said all this I do think they should probably rework how elemental dmg works to make it viable on more weapons, and they should also add more missions similar to the clutch claw tutorial that new players can go through if they want to learn about different mechanics, like elemental dmg and statuses... staggers and trips... blunt dmg vs cutting... sharpness... having a more hands-on experience teaching you the mechanics instead of just the pop-up wall of text that you get would be fantastic for new players...

The attack/defense talon/charm being in bag is a trade off, but World diminished that by being the first entry in the series that allowed you to restock from your storage during a hunt. It’s also convenient for people who don’t want to have it active permanently, for a challenge or what have you.

Hope you read this for some reason, but you know. If you have the TCS charging and you know you gonna be hit, you can use your shoulder bash to tank the hit and maintein TCS momentum. Also, when fighting a monster that moves a lot, don't wait for it to stop, your weapon will not be fast enought to input high damag in time. Use your shoulder bash to tank the initial part of the movement and punishes it. Feel the flow & Good gamming!
