PSA-I just recently found this out myself, but for anyone thinking that videos (especially in the ASMR community) are starting to sound sharp and grainy, youtube implemented a new "stable volume" setting that's on by default. Turn that off and the videos should return to how the creator intended. Edit: the setting is specifically labeled stable volume, I incorrectly put audio*
