@@unhappyninetales Your entire argument is invalidated when you take into consideration that humans fit inside pokeballs. Humans are pokemon also in that universe. And also, just because something calls it a "monster" doesn't mean it's not also an animal. A wolf is a monster to a deer. Doesn't mean the wolf isn't still an animal. The vast majority of pokemon are encountered in the wild. Before the advent of the Pokemon Index, most pokemon were studied just like wild animals are today. There are even petting zoos and aquariums and shelters for them. Some are bred as cattle, others as livestock, etc., etc.. Though most of them are just used in animal slave fights, like real life dogs or chickens. And before you try to deny that they're slave fights, the original pokemon lore showed that a pokemon's spirit had to be broken before you could begin to build a bond with them. Pokemon trainers totally Stockholm Syndrome them into thinking your their best friend. Imagine insulting someone simply because they prefer an older generation. What a pissant.

Imo the newer gen mons look way better and less boring. Pokemon aren't meant to look like actual animals. They are creatures and monsters at the end of the day.
