In their defense, being told I am pregnant when that has absolutely nothing to do with the situation at hand is exactly what I would expect from the American health care system. So theyre definitely a human doctor
@shadowsoulless62276 ай бұрын
Let me tell you, women can't get any dang medical treatment in America without at least being asked 15 times if they're freaking pregnant and having to provide a urine sample.... The day after I got in a car accident I went to go get my shoulder checked out because it was sore, do you know what they asked me a whole bunch of times? If I was freaking pregnant or if I could be pregnant and they just kept harping on that.... I AM HERE FOR SHOULDER PAIN. Eventually after I had been asked that question several times I'm like "can you get pregnant without having sex?" The nurse looked at me confused and said no then I told her "okay well unless I'm the Virgin Mary I'm not pregnant" 😑
@allarounddisaster6 ай бұрын
Honestly, health care as a woman is loony. I was called to come into my doctors office in person during C0VID, when they were only doing telephone. I was having severe obsessive thoughts and delusions that I was sick and could not eat, or bad things would happen. At one point, it was so extreme I ate like 2 pieces of toast over a period of 4 days. Tell the doctor everything while sobbing, and get referred for a psych eval after he told me he wanted to see me in person to see if I had to be admitted to the ward. Psych eval had to be split up into two separate 2 hour appointments because I had so much going on. I go to the second appointment, and they throw my file at me, and ask why I would lie about everything. I looked, and the doctor only wrote I was concerned I was pregnant. I mentioned pregnancy ONCE during the initial appointment, because I said it's also an obsessive fear of mine, but that I'm a virgin, on 99.99% effective birth control, and took a test so I'm not worried about that. Luckily, my mom was with me and literally SHOUTED at that team of psychiatrists while all I could do was cry. It makes so mad to this day, I wish I had reported BOTH of them. RIDICULOUS. I luckily have a phenomenal care team now, am on meds, and in therapy so I'm doing better. But yeah, it's a joke.

@allarounddisaster the health care system is a joke when it comes to women. I am so, genuinely, angry about it.
@allarounddisaster6 ай бұрын
@Rose-ghostsnflowers I understand how you feel. It's aggravating at the best of times, and enough to make you seethe at the worst. The best thing you can do is learn how to be loud. Ask for written denials of tests, question why, ask how they want you to manage what's currently wrong and what *they* will do if that doesn't work. Never stop any of those. Just keep repeating and repeating. I can't guarantee it will work all the time, nor that it won't make you more aggravated. But never be complacent with what they tell you. Make noise, be your own advocate if you have no one. That's how I finally got diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. I wish you luck on the journey up ahead, friend. And better luck in this screwed up system.

@@mylife-23yes, the reason i dislike the show because seriously wtf was that episode
@shadowsoulless62276 ай бұрын
@@mylife-23 I mean it depends on the definition of disorder. I'm not insulting asexuals I fit into the category myself. But asexuality can be caused by hormonal imbalances which are in fact a disorder so it depends on if you are just inclined to be asexual through your brain patterns that were influenced by your genetics or if you're asexual from trauma or if it is in fact a hormonal imbalance which is a medical condition. I've heard of people getting treatment for their hormonal issues and then they were no longer a sexual, I've known people that went to therapy and they were no longer asexual, so it depends where the asexuality comes from. I've not seen the episode so I have no idea how they framed it. I'm just saying it does depend on the circumstance on how it is defined.
@statementofjoespooky16606 ай бұрын
@@shadowsoulless6227 it was framed as though it’s a disorder no matter what and that the people needed to be “fixed” because they couldn’t possibly be happy together without sex. I am also asexual and understand that some people may be ace because of trauma or other things but that’s no excuse for the show to treat it the way it did. Happy healthy relationships without sex exist and there’s nothing inherently wrong with them. Btw I’m annoyed at the show, not you. Hopefully that’s clear lol.

To be honest, better safe than sorry. I had a cousin who was dumb enough to not mention she was pregnant to her doc, and got a therapy that can cause defects in the fetus. Doc lost his mind when he found out, took her off pills, and recommended abortion. She decided to keep it and spent the next 6 months fearing the outcome and stressing about it. Fortunately there were no problems in the end, but it was a lot of unnecessary stress.

No, not better "safe than sorry". Better safe than sorry means asking the patient if she's pregnant. If it's a no, and a no to the question if she wants a baby, then no test. Forcing all women to take a pregnancy test is super demeaning. Not to mention the biggest problem: these misogynistic doctors refusing tests for women because they don't believe they're not pregnant. "Actually I won't give you a test/treatment for your debilitating illness because you have the ability of getting pregnant. That ability makes you inferior and unworthy of treatment." Doctors SVCK. The “I cant get wet” “because of my perm, whatever” while fully in a straight wig is hilarious

So fun fact: a perm can also be straight. It can actually end up looking a lot like the wig (not blue--but definitely straight)!

Hey Amy. I appreciate you even when it's frustrating in your sacrifice to improve any ASMR with your high rank expertise of importance and even love to be shared and being yourself in front of all these videos.

“Food grade hydrogen peroxide… so this is a drink, or refreshments?” That one had me howling because, I’ve had to correct humans who have thought the exact same. It’s not a drink, but you can use it to make food or clean things used in food preparation.
