Also one of my favorite geography-related myths is about how Kathmandu Valley used to be a lake until the bodhisattva Manjusri (if you’re Buddhist) or the avatar Krishna (if you’re Hindu) cut a canyon with his sword emptying the water into the Indian subcontinent in order to create a home for the first inhabitants there. Some of the world heritage sites there are templars that relate to this myth

Part of Chitwan National Park is also in Bagmati province but worry not, another big part is in Gandaki province 🇳🇵😃
